- Here is the next instalment of our tour around Europe in our Self Built Camper Van. We are travelling this section of our trip with John and Mandy and we start this episode with an action-packed race around the La Manga GoKart Track.

We continued to travel down the east coast of Spain to a beach park we now refer to as the "three-bar beach", however, one was no longer there and the other two were closed.

From the beach we head inland and high up into the Sierra Nevada mountains to a wild west town called Texas Hollywood, Fort Bravo. Many famous Western films have been made here. The shows are great to watch and you can even camp up here the no extra cost.

Continuing up into the mountains we stopped overnight at the amazing Peza Dam, the views of the Dam, across the valley and snow-capped mountains were spectacular.

For the last leg of this video, we head South out of the mountains and back down to the coast to a fantastic beach camper park. There was an amazing beach bar there that was very friendly and lively with lots of locals, it was a perfect free camping spot.

Our kitchen worktop was showing some water marks after 18 months of living in the van so I decided to strip the old finish back to the wood and give it a new coat of Osmo Top Oil.

Great video Greg👍my notebook of park-ups is getting full. The bread van reminded me of my hometown in Portugal, bread van, milk van, fishmonger van and in some parts of the country you also get butchers van calling round on the morning.

Greg Virgoe thanks for your reply. Greg I can not remember what video you said you would like to learn how to weld . I learned to weld in the army repairing heavy wagons and fitting steel and making shutting for windows on trucks with a ark welder , back then the head hard to protect your eyes was black you could only see the light when you was welding , now days they have far better masks which change darker as you weld , if you want to learn now if you get a mig welder 150 watts you get a better weld for small steel . Just get yourself a gas less mig welder 150 watts or higher.anything lower then 150 watts your welding will be like bird shit as they say and will just keep cutting out on you , and just tag weld the peace’s of steel you are welding first a continuous run only bends the steel once it’s all tagged together you can do your runs then .you will find with practice you learn so easy as long as the steel is cleaned and shiny, ebay have mig welders cheap now days , have a safe journey back to the UK .

If you drive up the north side end of the lake there’s a pine wood with parking facilities & 2 beaches 1 of them is a naturists beach. It so peaceful the beaches are great

What a trip. In 1988 I stayed a few days in a theme park much like the one you were in ,but it was outside of Munich Germany. Being from the California it was surreal.

John Drisceoil not sorted still an issue when cold and I’ve always driven right hand so it’s perfectly normal to me. 👍🏼
Greg. I have been dipping and out of your videos. I now need to go back to video one of the van build. I would be interested in costs, time taken etc. My two main concerns are buying the right van and the electrics. How did you source your van?
Too young to be old we used both Ebay and autotrader but you have to be very careful as someone did try to scam us with a fake advert. In the end we bought from local commercial van sales in the next town 👍🏼

Jim McCarron I’m not sure what the tank capacities are but we skyways filled up at the same time and the merc got more range out of a tank about 30mpg as John was always needing to fill up before me. 😊

I agree with you: Parking overnight for free wanted - because it´s parking only.
And no problem for Nobody there, where you stand.
Just one rule in France, Spain, etc: Never stand or park direct on the beach.
I think, only germans and swiss people would pay overnight, for parking only ?
One parking range in sw germany (Breisach).
No Services, just a trash container only.
But you have to pay there, overnight. And fill out a form.
(No person = no control overnight, no cameras there.)
Switzerland - Basel: The worst parking area, even overnight. But allowed for mobile homes, too.
Allways noisy traffic day + night. No Services, just parking only.
But 24 sFr (CHF) for 24 hours parking. (Less, when less).

Which one is better gas or diesel heater?
Depends. Gas - more common, cleaner, quieter, less electric use. Diesel - 'easy' in that can use vehicle fuel tank, so only need small campingaz bottle for cooking (easier to find in europe) and saves space in garage, but makes (a little) more noise and you can smell it slightly outside sometimes. Burner uses more power from battery. My van is 5.4metres so not having a gas bottle gives me more storage (truma 6DE combi). Also have an upgraded 120 litre tank so will last for days (if you have enough electric) - uses about 300-400mls per hour of diesel at full chat.
