It doesn't matter if YOU don't have a problem with it! It's illegal to do it as is running a redlight, speeding and so on RULE 271 (2) A passenger on a motor bike (except a passenger in a sidecar or on a seat designed for a passenger, other than a pillion seat) that is moving, or is stationary but not parked, must- (a) sit astride the pillion seat facing forwards; and (b) keep both feet on the footrests designed for use by a pillion passenger on the motor bike. Offence provision. (3) The rider of a motor bike must not ride with a passenger (except a passenger in a sidecar or other seat designed for a passenger) unless the passenger complies with subrule (2). Offence provision.
@@dashy2259 The pillion is astride the pillion seat, has their feet on the rear footpegs and is facing forwards. Above poster is right - the pillion is just straightening their legs, not uncommon after a long stint.
Just having a stretch, pretty common on bikes on trips. I do it as well, as I'm quite tall and the bike is built for normal people, so I need to straighten up every now and then.
As a pillion from wayyyy back, if I needed to stretch my legs, I stretched each one sitting down, never stood on the pegs to stretch them as I felt it too dangerous, particularly in any traffic.
Wow! Not a good idea. Yeah it might be ok if you're performing with crusty demons in a stadium environment but not ok on our roads. Got me stumped how they didn't have an accident.
pillion is stretching legs or has a sore butt standing on pillion pegs common thing to do on long trips no big deal

@@offshore171I can see sure - but you can't stand up as a passenger on a motorbike on the seat or on the pegs
@@offshore171 Comprehension is not your strongest point.
" (a) sit astride the pillion seat facing forwards; and"
now you put it this way it really looks like you are right. I thought the pillion was sitting on the shoulders of the rider, like some 4 yo...
