Until today, I'd only heard the Jay Mohr phone interview off the back of his appearance with Louis and Ricky. So when this upload started autoplaying, I didn't know _for sure_ whether this was the show that Mohr was referring to, because he'd given the very strong impression that Louis and Ricky arrived and set themselves up in the corner of the studio. Listening to the show and the phoner _now_ (thanks for uploading them together), the suspicion I had about the truth of Mohr's complaining was confirmed, hammered and countersunk. The way he described the interplay between Louis and Ricky was just not true. Here's what I took from the whole thing. Louis clearly doesn't like Jay Mohr, as was apparent in the pre-Ricky part of the show. Louis's description of Mohr as a dog, in terms of his inability to infer/assess only in the moment and negatively, ruined Mohr. And Mohr tried and failed a number of times to get a little traction by doing his shit impressions (every Mohr impression sounds like 50% Mohr, 30% Alan Arkin, 15% Christopher Walken and 5% some cunt). The truth of the whole appearance comes down to a few simple things. Mohr's little bit of fame came in the mid to late 1990's, thanks to getting lucky with roles in movies carried by actual stars. His burst of celebrity came years before Louis and Ricky were famous. He's years younger than both of 'em and is more conventionally good looking, which is to his advantage as an actor or host. But in 2011, when this aired, Ricky was at his peak and Louis was being recognized as the best comedian of his generation _and_ an auteur. And Mohr, a fucking mediocrity, had nothing. Not only that, he was too much of a hack and a pussy to go after them at the time. He needed the benefit of l'esprit de l'escalier to launch a flaccid attack on 'em.
It didn’t seem as bad as Jay Mohr made it out to be, I agree with you. Even though I heard jay’s take on this interview prior to actually hearing it, i noticed more of a tension between Louis and Gervais. I know they’re comedians and lots of them break eachothers balls, but Gervais snapped at Louis’ remark of him still being fat after everybody commented he lost weight, and Ricky seemingly like tried to get back at Louis when he called him on being insecure. That said, damn dude you don’t need to psychoanalyze Mohr and break it down into this jealousy thing about how Jay is washed up... And your break down of his impressions is pathetic. Jay can just pull people out of his ass and do great impressions of them the first time. Stick with your Jimmy Fallon and Craig Gass
You sound like you know the show. :D. Also, if Anthony was at work that day, the hacks may not have gotten put in check by Louie but there was no other move he could make. Louie and Rick trolled the room
Jay Mohr sounds like a huge baby. Jerry is incredible if you don't like him fine but hack comics don't last in that industry for life let alone life long success. Also Louie and Ricky are leagues above the folks in that room anyway. Also if he's wondering why other comedians can say things he can't it might be because they are actually funny.
Nx Doyle you said it so much better than I tried too. This is such a true observation.
You sound like you know the show. :D. Also, if Anthony was at work that day, the hacks may not have gotten put in check by Louie but there was no other move he could make. Louie and Rick trolled the room
You're just as pompous as Louie but even worse. At least Louie doesn't unironically use cliche french phrases to make a point. Lmao
Please elaborate, the comment isn’t long enough.
1:21:12 Jay Mohr impression of gervais - ck dialogue :)
46:40 as anthony and jim would have said ENOUGH ABOUT CARL. Opie brings it up 3 different times...why do we still bother at this point
I don't remember who said it but anything can be funny as long as the funny out weighs the offensive. I think that might have been Patrice but IDK. Alright enough of my fan girl rant punching out.
What about doing the same 50 minutes for your entire career is creative or funny? What about taking credit for a show that you didn't write, and in retrospective, isn't funny or entertaining by today's standards. He made a lot of great points even though I think Louis is LEAGUES above Jay.
You nailed it. Anthony wasnt at work that day and Jay's hackness oozed out until 2 legends did what had to be done...troll the room.
@@IHateUA-cam25 except he hasn't done the same material his entire career. He recently brought back all the jokes that made him big but before that he would shed all his material and start over. That being said Seinfeld isn't the quickest at making new hour long sets. You don't have to find him funny but to say he's not would raise the question of his near billion dollar net worth from comedy.
(I say "recently" as in the span of his career)
@@IHateUA-cam25 I feel you though, I'm less into a comic if I feel they keep reheating the same meal to feed me. I really like Brian Reagan but he almost never comes up with anything new.
@@IHateUA-cam25 Jerry did co write Seinfeld and it definitely still holds up, why it's one of the most tuned into re runs and not for nothing there's a lot of jokes that are localized to NY so I get it if others miss the joke.
I wish Patrice was there to show everyone in the room what funny actually is.
Ricky and Louis don’t need Patrice to show them what funny is. Neither do Jimmy or Ronnie B. Opie couldn’t learn funny from Patrice and Jay Mohr is too much of a scared baby.
Louie sounding like the freak he is
Damn, jays impressions are something else
49:03 opie asks Ricky if Karl Pilkington has a form of autism. The gall
Opie really seems like he’s holding his own here….mega eye roll.
If I ever go to New York I want to experience opie and Anthony New York.
sorry pal. it's all gone now.
Choking Victim…great band….new yorkers
Who were the guys. Louie, jimmy, opie, jay Mohr and who?
jainubeezy1 Ron from Ron and Fez
Almost sounded like Bennington. I think this is Opie and Jim radio after AC was fired
Ricky Gervais is the one you are missing.
@@BalotelliFan713 yeah it was Ron Bennington
Where the fuck is Anthony
I’m a big fan of both Louis ck and Ricky gervais but jay is right here the interview was boring
Jesus Opie trys hard
he gets bailed out by the people around him for his shit personality
Someone has to try hard at their job when Anthony doesn't give a shit.
@@JohnnyNatrium Ant is talented
Jerry seinfeld is the definition of overrated as a stand up. Jay kills with his impressions.
sounds like many shows crossing over on a radio signal... no structure .
That was kinda the point of O&A
So glad the haha holee shit bot was out for this.
Why is everyone in the comments saying “Man, this episode needed Ant in the studio, he woulda busted some balls and wouldn’t have let Louis and Ricky hijack the program!”
Ant was a pissy eyed crybaby who did good impressions. Kinda like Jay.
That’s embarrassing that Jay Mohr interview after. He got right mugged off....and it’s true he is like a bad Dog. Amazing they shut him up and it was good! 👍
Sounds like a right idiot as he said fuck all when it was all going on and looked into the corner like a naughty dog that just shit the bed 😂😂
Plus Karl Pilkington is a legend. Fuck off
It was hysterically funny
Is Louie constantly eating?
There's no good pizza in Manhattan?
Absolutely none
One good place near Columbus circle.
12:18 hilarious
1:03:08 what does this mean, Jim?
As much as I hate jay mohr he does have valid points and Rick gervais laugh is nauseating! But I still loved listening to jay mohr bomb
01:18:38 Louis and Ricky are talented beyond all of you though, that's the thing.
That gives them the right to be pretentious dicks?
Jay rambles for to long
31:58
31:34
jay mohrs mote of a comedy guitar shredder with his impressions...mostly annoying but undisputedly excellent at impressions
and here ronnie b gets his verbal radio ass handed to him over tomato juice...and mo anthony to chime in “tonnies the best..trust us...hes beem at this radio thing for decades” and louie still wudnt give 2 shits
louie had mohr stuttering a lot and audibly almost angry at some points. sounss like this was strategy wen louie decided hed be as aggressive ad possible for publicity
I think Seinfeld's real vice is writing horrible jokes
And making millions every day
@@TheKitchenerLeslie Lots of people who do nothing of value make millions of dollars a day. He makes most of his money from his show which isn't written by him..... so yeah. +money isn't real.
@@THE.FAKENEWS No, not at all. WRONG.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie Hahahahaahaha. Found the boomer.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie An all caps "WRONG" is a pretty solid argument though... Can't really debate that deep discussion.
and to make matters worse , louie also seems to get opie and ron to pile on mohr instead of thtowin him a bone...this is like a psychologically fascinating histotixal audio artifact
Louis Ck & Ricky Gervais make a really terrible comedy duo.
Louie has that effect on people. It's like when people get close to him, they have to try to be him.
@@fudgicle-cr7iu And avoid being hit with his jizzsplatter, i would get it on a live record of his tho, especially if it was one from the year the scandal broke. I'd tell potential buyers it got stained backstage in his dressing room after a show.
This is the worst of Louie by far. Jay is so on point.
You must be new
Jay was on point with the impressions, but overall he sounded butthurt
Jay is a joke/story thief and is very clearly jealous here. I like the dude but let's call it like it is, he's using the advantage of hindsight to launch an attack on the actual famous people after the fact. He's butthurt as hell
Jay Mohr was correct about the ballwashing going on, but I still don't think he's funny. I don't think he's ever made me laugh.
He did a really great impression of Louis and Ricky, but yeah, Louis and Ricky are a lot funnier than him.
1:22:30 that’s right mr mohr. They are more famous than you. They are funnier than you. You are not in the same league even though you think you are
aso just realized thar nortons the only comic i mever feel awkward listenung to in terms of feeling srt fir other comics when u sense they are trying to get a comment in the concerswtion, norton cam jp in whenever
I HOPE YOU GET ALL OF THE VACCINES & BOOSTERS
Do u spell
Wow Louis was on fire before Ricky came in then idk he flipped his personality, n was all chummy with Ricky, the smell of his ass on his lips was pungent.....he occasionally threw some zingers every once in awhile, it’s alright cuz Louis usually brings the Heat...Ricky forget about it, it was aweful, Worst Comedian Guest...YUCK LOL n Opie & Jimmy held back from jumping all over the fake BS Ricky was lying about n how It gave everyone the DC’s with his lying with Shame trying to plug his stuff n act like the material isn’t an act lol....Mohr was recovering from the PTSD from when Louis (when CK was still being funny) told him to shut up lol
It would be hilarious if Jim, Opie, Jay or Ron just started making Slurping / Puckering Kissing Noises While Louis & Ricky would just rant to eachother, while holding each other’s balls...Hold the Balls...LMAO
11;40 louis is actually really annoying drom thos point on. too obvious that is formulaically going hard contrarian on anyone. from tomato juice to the pizza slice....idk y jay didmt launch into a louie impression right there....one that emphasized louies hack formulaic objections towards everything.
You're truly a moron if you think Louie is a hack
You don’t make sense at all learn how to type
Louie isnt funny. End of story.
Shut up
Cody Cook nothing you can do about it. Louie is a worthless piece of shit.
