I gotta say I have 7 different QSPs and in all honesty they are fantastic bang for your buck. I got a D2 G10 scales that is seriously sharp out the box for $40. Cuts paper like a light saber better than my Spyderco PM2 in Maxamet. Love me some QSP.
As a woodworker, i really like the sheep's foot blade. I have one i bought a year ago, & have been happy with it. I'm not sure about the different blade metals, but it sharpens up nice! It says D2 on the blade.
I have 2 Kaviso exclusive (Marbled CF Penguin and Mini) frame locks, but even though they look dope and I love the blade shape, I don't carry them as often as my knives with more fidgety finger-safe locks. Nerve damage makes me much more likely to cut myself. I will be watching for an upgraded CF version of this BL then definitely will pull the trigger.
The real upgrade is that they got their whole logo on the flat of the blade, unlike the original version where it spilled over onto the primary grind. Total OCD trigger.
Ah yes, the sheepscliffe wharnsfoot blade, dating back to circa 1685 from the green hills of Ireland. Legend has it that the natives would drink and fight to maintain their mother's reputation and all the while threaten to brandish this style of blade against their opponent. They would however never actually pull out their knives and would become best of friends after their formidable bout.
Sheepsfoot A sheepsfoot blade has a straight cutting edge and an unsharpened curved back spine that curves down to meet the straight edge and make a false point. The main purpose of a sheepsfoot is for cutting and slicing where a point is not wanted or needed. Examples of this include a number of kitchen/chef’s knives. Because of the strength the blade has, as well as not having a sharpened spine this will allow you to have great control when using the knife. Advantages of the Sheepsfoot Well suited to giving a clean cut while slicing Very controllable No point exists (avoids accidental stabbing)
I love my s35vn version didn't mind spending the extra cash for it cause of the steel. Not sure 14c28n is that much better than d2 at least for me to make it worth it
14c28n has slightly better edge retention plus it’s a stainless vs d2 being tool steel. I loved my maxamet para3 but the blade started patina and pitting after just one day in the pocket at work sweating hard of course but still.
100% match is the description of the actual functions. It really is a tesla coil you don’t know you don’t need any propane gas butane it’s just Tesla great advertisement let me know what y’all think
Wish the trend of every button lock being a flipper would go away, i know non flippers exist i just see models all the time and think " i would own a non flipper version"
Even though the Penguin seems to get a lot of talk and people like it, but I got one and not a fan. It’s heavy (for its size) and I don’t like how the blade sticks out. Just a blah knife to me.

I just got my pyrite and I love it. Thanks for recommending it. You rock MC
I agree with you-55 would’ve been a sweet spot and get it for ~50 on a sale or if a retailer offers a channel code. Thanks, MC.

Bought two Kaviso Penguins as Christmas gifts. Don’t own one myself but I will someday.
What are your thoughts on the S35VN version from knife center for $85?
Oh my god, the comparison against the AD10 is hilarious. It looks so tiny!
The real upgrade is that they got their whole logo on the flat of the blade, unlike the original version where it spilled over onto the primary grind. Total OCD trigger.
Any idea if I could blade swap this with the non flipper version?
No. This is a button lock, the non-flipper is a liner lock. The blade locking design is completely different for both.
boooo, well there goes that idea. @@kwongyeang
Im with you. I wish they would have made it with thumb studs only. I prefer the simplicity.

I'd like to see the Parrot done like this.
At least here in the USA, AEBL/nitroV is cheaper than D2.
My opinion is they are marking up soley off of marketing.

14c is such a joy to sharpen though, it takes a beautiful edge.
Here's your comment, Happy New Year MC!
Kinda over the penguin, but i do love a button lock
Any idea if grinding off the flipper tab affects performance?
it shouldn't
I gotta have 1 that's all

This is a knife review
That flipper tab is almost as ugly as the hinderer flipper tab.
Perfect blade for an electrician. Me!
Agree, if you've never tried it though, check out the knipex cable knife.
I have a gift i would like to send u and some other stuff to check out
Where can i send it??
Welp now I have to buy another penguin lol
Awesome looking knife. Those Calipers gave me anxiety though.

Wrong.
Correct
I completely agree. That’s why the alt pyrite and regular versions were bangers in premium form.
I mean, you could do a flipper delete.
Love flipper 😊

Really not liking this one. It's supposed to be an edc and then the 3" thick scales. Yikes
