The SELI Educational Playground at LEA Kyan Rikkos, Jos was built by Star Education and Leadership Initiative (SELI) through the Reciprocal Exchange Component Grant RE2024 of the Mandela Washington Fellowship: a U.S. Department of State programme administered by IREX Play360. Our Educational Playgrounds are constructed from locally found and sourced materials. These projects go beyond providing a safe space for children to learn and play, they also provide teachers with new didactic materials and ideas, communities, an opportunity to work together, and a new life for previously discarded materials such as tyres. The innovative educational playgrounds will be vibrant spaces where kids can learn explore and contribute to environmental health/climate action.
