Hopefully everyone agrees with me that while we miss seeing Roe and her smile, we also understand that you guys are young and have a LOT of life ahead of you still, so a reset is totally understood. You have had basically the nomad lifestyle to be able to do what you want when you want it for a while, and it's not for everyone as Roe has determined, so a change is totally understood. You are still able to see the country and its sites, so I applaud you for being a team and doing what's necessary for BOTH of you in order for you to enjoy your lives together. It's all a part of life and the process of growing - the key is being able to make the very best of it, which it appears you have done.

Wow David! Big change. But not a big surprise - a LOT of UA-camrs are re-evaluating their channels these days. - The UA-cam "relationship" has evolved.
Personally, I'm not a fan of shorts - I need to be drawn-in for at least a few minutes - just "my head".
Maybe you should re-brand to to Fate-Rebound?

I feel the same as Ro as well and the hubs and I will be working full time from our 5th wheel working remotely M-F and adventuring on weekends. Well, well, well, “so the falcon has heard the falconer!” as Gordon Gecko said in Wall Street. I always thought you two might start a family as we all know what great parents you’d make. I sort of saw the changes coming when she changed her name from Jenny to Roe. Sorry but many of us thought Jenny was a very sweet name for her. Then the gaming she got into and a few other clues showed she was distracted from the original adventures. That’s life and it happens to us all. I am happy for both of you as each of you need to be happy in what you do and oftentimes your decision you relate, is a beginning of changes yet to come. As one of your original subscribers I look forward to following you David. Stay open to life’s surprises that may come your way too. I will end with this. Time to read and study on Robert Frost’s famous poem, “The Road Not Taken”, particularly verse three. Best to you both! One question: Will you be traveling with Sweetie?
RVing wasn't really her thing. She's a home body and kept David from really exploring. It's a shame David didn't keep up with the adventures.
It is good to be in a good spot in life where you both can be happy. Myself, I have the opposite problem. I am just a natural workaholic. My friends tell me to stop, but I love working. Glad you will continue with the channel.
If you do film shorts make sure you put "Shorts" in the video title. That way I will know and NOT click on them. "Shorts" are a waste of my time.
Row every 'now & then'? Can't say she won't be missed.
But doing what you need to for health, is important -
I remember her back in the old days when she was jenny and had a different 'look'. Will miss her.
Keep doing what you're doing. I think it helps when couples spend some time apart. Miss seeing Roe, but Sweetie will do!
So tell! What is Roe's new job? :) I am Project Manager and have been working remotely for the past 12 years. I completely understand the need for internet. Hubby understands the travel rule...when we travel during a work day we must take routes where I will not lose internet. Lol!! I have a complete command center setup in the truck passenger seat. Once I settle in its all business! Headset on when needed and everything. I even manage a second monitor using a 10 inch tablet and monitor clips. Rock on Roe!!
Roe is a recruiter for an RPO company and it fits her really well. It sounds like you're all set up for travel and work, wow! Our rule is we only travel on the weekends so that Roe never has to worry about working in the truck.

Sounds like a good change. If Roe is up to it, I’d love to hear how the remote work thing is going. I’m in the process of prepping the house for sale and will be looking for online work. I’m nervous about always looking for cell service 9-5.
She'll probably be in a video at some point in the future where we talk all about what it's like working full time remotely while traveling in an RV. Having to camp somewhere with strong 4G cell service is definitely a pain but we make it work.

Same, I'm working 9-5 remotely from an RV and have been interested in dispersed camping, but nervious about making the jump because of the need for cell service.
All will change when starlink becomes fully mobile
Since they could not do the courtesy of telling the people who paid their freaking bills for several years, UNSUBSCRIBE, do not let them make any real money off this crap.
I could type something supportive and inspirational, but I won't. It's your life, you evolve, we all do. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes it's rough. If Roe is stepping back, RUN WITH IT! Don't hold back, don't over edit, don't over think, let's see you! I'm not really into the shorts... I have TikTok for that. I'm actually more interested now than I have been in awhile.
This is lesson to all who believe they can be UA-camrs full time - it may work for a while but the grind and lack of sufficient income ultimately proves that wrong.
If there was any 'channel' that could have worked it would have been theirs - they were entertaining, creative, smart, personable and dedicated but in the end we haven't seen anything from them in months - this is a sad reminder that life on the road for very little pay, no benefits, no retirement, etc., only lasts for a short while.
I miss them, their animals, adventures, etc. but it was short lived...
You are such an awesome couple because you both came up with a new way to live your lives without splitting like people who just give up when changes to the relationship are needed.
FYI. I really, really hate shorts and the "verticle" format.
Starlink will help a lot with internet connectivity once they open it up for RVs
We cannot wait for Starlink to be able to work while traveling.

Like you, I’m also not wanting to work but my wife loves her job, so I just let her support me while we tool around and I explore during the week, bike and hike, while she works! 😉 Only a little sarcastic but it allows it to work out. It’s awesome for our marriage too!

Shorts sounds nice. That'll keep us connected with Roe and then she will be doing her thing. I think it's great she can travel and work from "home". Some people thrive on that structured business. I did for 45 years but now I'm retired. Love that to.
That's a great point! Roe will be in a lot of shorts since they'll mostly be from our adventures together. And yeah she REALLY thrives within the structure that comes from being employed. She loves it and is very happy with her new job.

I have watched every video you guys have made, and as a person who deals with her own mental health issues, there were times I could see Roe struggling with her life out there for everyone to judge. Good for you both for doing what is best for each other. 💕
Her regular presence in the videos will be missed, but you guys have to do what you need to stay healthy physically & mentally.

Thanks for keeping on with the channel, yours is one of the few remaining ones that we started watching before we embarked on our journey in 2018. Many of the content creators we either supported or subscribed to back then seem to have either signed off of You Tube or quit full timing. We know it’s usually inevitable, at some point people stop, it’s just good to see familiar faces still out there and enjoying RVing full time. Congrats to Roe on the new job!

Long time subscriber. Thanks for the info you provided. A couple of things to consider. The video opened with you using what appeared to be the Camco water filter with filters down to 20 microns. The green inline filter costs a little more but filters down to 2 microns. For the health of your family, I'd consider the filter upgrade.
The other consideration is leaving your wife without a truck or your dog (possible protection). I'm making a lot of assumptions here that all may be wrong. There's a lot of evil in this world and I'd be uncomfortable leaving my wife at our trailer overnight but that's me and I don't want to put my values on you. Just something to consider.
Nobody can take care of others unless they take care of themselves. True for all of us, as well as you. Be well, and get out there!

This is just, I hope, a helpful warning. Everytime I hear, I'm doing this and my spouse is doing that, the next thing I hear is, we're splitting up. Please stand against it. Include each other in your lives together. Roe may go with you on a camping trip or two. She may find she really enjoys it after a while. Anyway, I'll be praying for you guys.
Admit it, you are whipped, this is what she wants to do, and if you want to keep getting some you are changing the direction of the channel. lol. I'm not saying you're wrong; but you should just admit it.

Interested to see how this goes as we just bought our first tt and wife wants to get back in workforce after 2 kids. My job doesnt allow for full time rv nor does preschool just trying to figure out how to juggle it all. Like ur content, also we live 10min north of your hometown

Since you asked, I will not watch a short (or any video) in vertical format. Horizontal, depends on content.

Change is good. So many of the RVer channels have fallen into the same format that I’ve stopped watching some of them. Looking forward to your changes!!
Glad to hear you are going to travel into the unknown with sweetie, i guess.. if i was in your shoes i'd call the channel "Beyond Boondocking" or "Beyond Civilization" or i don't know, you are hitting a sweet spot of humans, and that is curiosity, people always wonder what's on the other side, and tell Roe she is complete savage resting some random laptop on an Alienware, good luck on whatever you do next we'd continue to support, you are going to need a car with the right suspension system, i don't know like a Ford Raptor or maybe an off road Tacoma?

Regarding the shorts, I like the idea of a few for real time updates. But UA-cam has such a weird interface for them, I kind of hate them.
After the snow melts the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is beautiful. Near the National Park Boundary there is decent 4g. Definitely can't get up there in the winter.
David, good for you both for pivoting when needed! We have watched you for 2+ years and will continue to do so. We have learned so much from you and we have now been full timers for about 6 months. Check your Instagram messages. We think that we might be close by and we would love to meet you two!

All good! As someone once said about life, "The only constant is change." I'll definitely stay subscribed. - And you have the opportunity now, yes, to illustrate the advantages of traveling with a tow-behind, where you can leave your home safely parked and drive your truck to places not easy or even possible to get to with a big rig. And I think that'll be special, and different from what we get from most other channels. So I bet it works out for UA-cam while it works out, even more importantly, for you and Roe as individuals.

Yeah Roe beginning her full time recruiting position has drastically changed how we travel and our schedule, but we're trying to keep it as normal as possible (our version of normal at least haha). I've got some BIG ideas for future videos and I'm extremely excited to start. I would like to go out on multi-day long expeditions in the truck and camp out of the camper-shell deep in the wilderness.

I totally get it. I can make all the money I need remotely. But I have to have reliable 4G connection to do it. Not terribly difficult to find but it does have to be planned. I've been searching for a 💯 remote job. I currently work remote 4 days a week but then I have to drive up to Oro Valley, AZ from the Willcox area every Friday to do my check runs. I want to be able to venture out of state in my RV.
Hubby and I are still waiting to start our Rv adventure. We actually took up backpacking and love it! Can’t wait to see some great places to mark down for when we start our adventure.

Thanks! I could see you experimenting but didn't know why. I think I will enjoy "David's Adventures." And I think it's a tribute to your relationship that you and Roe can make space to figure out what works for each of you. You will grow as a couple too. I am 60 and still learning about the care and feeding of Me. Bravo. Hope we cross paths in our travels someday.

Hi D and R thank you for the update! My wife and I have been fulltime for about two years now with fulltime jobs. It's such a double edged sword. The consistent money is the biggest benefit, but being 'forced' onto a schedule can be nice. Personally, I have no problems filling my days so I know if were independently wealthy I probably wouldn't have a regular job! The biggest inconvenience for us is probably forcing travel days onto the weekends. This makes things like avoiding bad weather for travel days trickier, and being careful to avoid burnout. Last year we had to get from New York to San Diego and it was 5 weeks of working 5 days, driving all weekend, working 5 days, etc. It was hard but splitting the driving helped a lot! Anyways, great video, hope to see more content. It's interesting to me that 'travel' content on most channels seems to struggle in the sea of UA-cam but the really good 'how to's' and RV related/living things are more evergreen content that seems to get more views. Just something I've observed!

I LOVE nature! I can be an armchair adventurer with you without actually camping and backpacking. Sometimes nature videos with music are so relaxing. And UA-cam shorts sound great. Go for it, you two.
