    Thanks so much for bringing back these conversations. By adding Ryan’s singing to the new intro graphic, he maintains a presence even when he’s not present.

    I would not have known you’re an introvert! So I see how valuable your alone time is! I’m like Ryan, definitely an extrovert!! I actually get anxious when I’m alone for too long! Love this segment of “getting to know you” 🎵😉

    thank you for sharing about being an introvert. I have listened to a lot of your podcasts and read two of your books and that has all helped me understand my introvertedness and why I need to be alone to recharge. I now create time to do this and don’t feel so different or like an oddball for needing to do so!

    I'm an extreme introvert also. I'm an artist and I require a huge amount of alone time for my work. Luckily my boyfriend is also an artist, so we both understand this need. Thanks for explaining it so well.

    Could you and Ryan discuss how you plan for your later years? Maybe a podcast discussing retirement goals, long-term care insurance in the event you need homecare down the pike, where you imagine yourselves living - a community, assisted living, etc. I know you've discussed wills and life insurance and financial goals, but I think it would be beneficial to highlight what the actual costs of living as an older adult can be so that people are prepared.

    I'm an introvert too and I've always felt like being an introvert was wrong/weird since my family is so extroverted. Unfortunately, they caused me to feel self conscious about my introverted traits a lot of the time, but I've grown past that. And I want to thank you for normalizing different personality types and that being introverted is normal and common.

    I'm so introverted too so I understand this! I love my alone time. shopping?! i love going alone. cleaning?! best thing for productivity and to ease my anxiety. getting work done on my computer in my room...alone?!?! hell yeah. i love being alone and i find it weird that after i hang out with even my closest friends from back home, i need to lay down for a few minutes and be by myself. it's so weird, being an introvert is really interesting sometimes. thanks for the helpful minimalism videos! :)

    I love and need my alone time. Some people close to me just don't understand.
    When a lot of family members come to stay, I have to go into the bedroom, where there is soft instrumental music playing for the cat, and regroup and recharge every so often.

    This must be why I love my alone time. I consider myself an introvert but my jobs force me to be so extroverted. Ahh, solitude.

    Walking slowly and mindfully in nature is my favorite thing to do! I also think alone is better for reflection and is recharging. I can always feel it when I don’t get enough alone time.
    A good question to ask is do you see this alone time changing as you get older or staying the same? I have grown to need more alone time recently for some self discovery and reflection. Just wondering how does this changes for you with life experiences.

    I have a question I've been wondering for a long time. What do us minimalists do when its time to hand out gifts, on a birthday, or a holiday. I don't want to just buy stuff to make them "happy", because it's not who I am. But they obviously don't see it in the same light.

    • @TimelordUK
      @TimelordUK 6 років тому

      I'd love an answer to this as I face the same problems. I ask friends not to buy me "things" and that I'd be happy with a cheap meal in a pub, but they would rather buy a thing than offer time, and they certainly do not want a cheap meal in a pub from me, they want an actual "thing" and would probably be quite upset if I didn't produce a physical item!

    • @yamiliogyu8
      @yamiliogyu8 6 років тому

      They did answer this multiple times very extensively I believe. Look on the channel for podcasts that say "gifts" or anything else with giving.

    I like to do things alone as you have more freedom . I am not subjected to someone else’s schedule. For example working out .
    The other thing I like about going to events by myself especially for networking is that if you bring a co worker you tend to hang around them. Going alone forces you to meet others .

    I can totally relate! I have a question: I’m a minimalist ( I have always been actually) and I’ m extremely well organized ( some of my friends say I’m a mixture of Monica from Friends and Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets 😳) I like to keep EVERYTHING clean and simple BUT my husband is NOT a minimalist, in fact he’s quite a hoarder) how do you deal with that? He has for instance lotion samples he NEVER uses that have expired like in 2010 but he doesn’t let me get rid of them,etc. As an experiment I threw them away one by one like 3 years ago and he never noticed. Sometimes I do this with other of his stuff but then I feel terrible for making decisions over his stuff.

    I am an introvert as well and as a new mom I almost never have time alone. So ... since there are many things i did like to do, i guess its time to limit myself to maybe only one or two hobbies. How do i pick?

    What exactly differentiates FRUGAL from MINIMALIST? It would seem that some in middle or high wage bracket needs help and tutorials, lists, podcast, and training to be "mindful" and "intentional" on spending, plus a nice sounding politically correct title of minimalist. Instead of low wage bracket people who have always had to live like this, and have had been labeled POOR. 🤔

    How much less is too much? I'm introverted but your living room makes me feel uncomfortable and unnerving. Something about the insane asylum like concrete walls especially makes me feel they are germs. The bareness feels like a soviet interrogation room. I want to de clutter but I don't feel comfortable with that nothingness type of look. Hopefully this is just a set, or Ella may grow up a OCD germaphobe when she goes in other places in the real world.
