There will be a nuclear war eventually, whether it’s in 10 years or 1000. I just hope that by the time it happens, we’re resilient enough to make it through to the other side. Sometimes I feel like a lot of people today think that the threat of nuclear war is a bygone one from decades past, but in reality the threat never went away. We just kinda stopped caring. Yea, the threat has definitely diminished with the nuclear test ban treaties and nuclear disarmament, but more nations than ever still have nukes and know how to build new ones. Level heads will hopefully prevail for as long as possible and avert crises, but eventually for whatever reason someone will inevitably launch a first strike. I hope I’m long dead by then.
There was a girl I dated years ago who showed me Tom Lehrer. We didn't work out, but stayed friends until she recently passed. This song brings back really good memories. Thank you
I played a cassette of this song on a training operation as a nuclear weapons technician in the 80s. The shocked look on the inspector's face was woth it.
still surprised that this or "we will all go together when we go" have never made it into a fallout game. there's a quest in new vegas that's named after the latter that has you walking through searchlight, but that's it for tom lerher in fallout.

Tom lehrer recently made all his music free and available for use on his website. But once the site goes down (probably after he dies) it might be lost
The Pilot Should Gradually Melt Away Into A Skeleton During The Course Of The Song! (I Advanced Forward The Timeline Being VERY Disappointed!) And Where Are The Appropriate Background Sound Effects?!!!
The line "And this is what he said on his way to Armageddon" should be changed to "And this is what he said on live TV". it then will rhyme with the "no sirie" from the previous line.
The fact that this hasn't been in any fallout game is the biggest tragedy since fallout 73.
73??
I think you mean Fallout 76
Hes from the future@Kami-samaGaming
They could totally do that by the way, because all his songs are in the public domain apparently
Wow, that's really surprising, actually.
I memorized that song 40 years ago and used to sing it at drinking fests. Glad it didn't happen and hopefully it never will.
You know the freaky part? If this was sung in 1930s and this happened

Absolutely

Tom Lehrer is a treasure, still kicking at 94 as well!
He’s gotta get the last laugh somehow, doesn’t he?
He's just waiting so we can all go together when we go!

AN HOUR AND A HALF FROM NOW!
What a gem
the best Lehrer song, this guy was way too honest and creative for American audiences and had a niche following in other places.
His music fits perfectly with today's generation (Gen z) and all of our jaded, cynical humor. He was just decades ahead of his time
@@tfthief4931This boomer loved him back in the day as much as any zoomer does now. Tom is eternal.

This hits differently in October 2023...
Even worse in march 2024.
Even worse on April 8th 2024
not much change on april 10th 2024
practically no change on april 11th 2024
About the same on April 12th 2024
I love Tom Lehrer. And laugh very nervously now, as citizen of country where agressive madman keeps red button right now
Tiktok brought me here. Can't believe I'd never heard of him before. I love all of his content!!
Шикарно🤣🤣🤣
С этими песнями хочется меньше переживать из-за всякого😁
This is an eerie song because it’s so real now. It’s like a real life Fallout.
So long, mom
The official 2023 theme song :
happy people still listen to this song
I had to goggle it but I now know the meaning of the word contrapuntally.
"Remember mommy, im off to get a commie, so send me a salami, and try to smile somehow!" Bars. literal bars.
this is perfect to listen when you're sitting in your shelter

More and more relevant, eh? It's not so funny anymore and it's getting more and more scary.
The line "And this is what he said on his way to Armageddon"
should be changed to "And this is what he said on live TV".
it then will rhyme with the "no sirie" from the previous line.
It’s a break, it’s not meant to be the same.
Atleast you tried, leave the writing to Lehrer

Sounds like the "Ukraine Conflict"
More like a Holy war coming along with us as well
