Draught has never been a problem in Assam. No irrigation system till date exists. Flood is the main prob. Point to be discussed is that how successfully this dam will able to mitigate the flood condition in lower land and will it be capable to store unexpected water from China specially during rainy season...
If we capture some parts of Bangladesh.. or merge it into India ..
We can transfer some of water to wear bangal , jharkhand , chattisgarh, orrisa .. by canal and river linking

Multiple check dams should be constructed before the actual dam to decelerate water flow in case China intends to break this dam.

Hey , I'm from Arunachal Pradesh and we strongly opposed any Dam construction on Mother Siang.
This is a very good news and we shold have done this long back.
But what if India has also stored water in Dam to avoid drought caused by china and china also releases its stored water, would not that create a major flooding? Since India's dam would also be full and sudden release of water by china would surpass the capacity of India's dams?
Well if they suddenly release water than Floods are inevitable anyways.
Nobody can solve a complete 100% problem so they usually aim for 99% of the times.

This sounds good from some perspective but then again Arunachal Pradesh has one of the most diverse and sensitive ecology. There was once news about EtaLin dam being built in Arunachal Pradesh but then no progress has been heard of ever since. I hope this does not hit any roadblocks so that the people of Assam finally are saved from the yearly floods.
How is it most diverse and sensitive than let's day western ghats etc ?

@@RS-lv1cm sensitive and diverse because it is a part of The Himalayas which is one of the biodiversity hotspots of India and many types of flora and fauna found here are not found anywhere , same goes for western ghats and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands .
Also the whole of north east is earthquake zone V. If this dam fails or breaks, then Assam will see the mother of all floods.
@@riichobamin7612 govt will use modern technology from israel and usa and japan. especially japan who has mastered flooding in form of tsunami and earthquakes of 7 rc and more. Unlike other dams in india which are of outdated tech these will hold strong and save both Ap and assam from floods whether its rainy season flood or misdeed of the china

What is the reason behind melting of glaciers in lean season when there is less water in the Brahmaputra in Indian region but more water in the Tibetan region . The lean season is the winter season . So why would the glaciers melt in winter instead of summer season .

Being from Arunachal, Dibang and lower Dibang valley has to suffer with such mega dams certainly. We oppose such large grand dam construction.

100s of other dams have been build that were tried to be stopped sighting ecological consequences but nothing happened after construction....you have been just affected by foreign propoganda that do not want development in India

China is either ways going to make world's largest dam in the same seismic zone; whether India makes the dam or not.....and using that dam china can cause flood and drought as per its will.....we can't let that happen..
I'm a mechanical engineer and I understand Geology and engineering Both.....When such construction is done , it done while keeping seismic activity in mind

So lots of sliding and lots of higue mountain will broken dawon.... Lots of paddy's field is near to the siang river.. I think after Dam in our local area our people will died hunger strike by the dam in siang river 🥺🥺😓😓

The whole of Arunachal is an exotic region with diverse cultures, flaura and fauna.if govt wants to accumulate resources from arunachal with its exotic nature and diverse culture as well as its geographical beauty it can easily be developed into a major site of tourist revenue..and jaha tak electricity ka baat hai...govt can make hydrokinetic submerged turbines too..same hydro output without disturbing ecosystem or submerging the large area nad its diverse culture..and it will also become a tourist attraction as india me abhi tak asa koi hydrokinetic submerged hydroturbine project nahi hai ..ek teer se 2 shikaar...and if it cant be done then ther are thousands of smaller

Check dam may be constructed of all rivers height 10-20 ft height and distance of 15--20 km. Thus, it will be helpful for farmers,, storage of water resources and fishing purpose.
Regardless of China's dam India needed this dam to regulate torrential flow from Bhramputra as it regularly caused havoc down stream in India and Bangladesh. In monsoon Brahmaputra region is almost like an ocean. Perhaps multiple dams with many reservoirs would be needed.
