Ive seen mosques in South Asia, East Asia, Middle East etc, they all have their own uniqueness with a touch of their own culture.
And to see a mosque designed with a touch of English culture is definitely unique and never in my life did I expect to see such a building.

A very modern Islamic cathedral. I say cathedral, because so many of the columns in our ancient cathedrals remind me so much of trees, which support the vaulted ceilings. Really beautiful, and full of grace. I'd love to visit some day.

@@takiranayaki7870 Interesting! I've just made a quick investigation, and it seems that Islamic architecture may indeed have inspired the Gothic arch and other features of Northern European cathedral design.
However, before the development of the Gothic Arch and the High Gothic style, Norman cathedrals were built using Roman Arches. (A fine example can be found in Nottinghamshire - Southall Minster, c. 1108CE.)

*As a trainee architect, I've been crying out about the monstrosities that are British mosques.*
Architecture has always been about responding to the surrounding environment and this is a prime example of responsible, sensitive, and thought-out design that is in harmony with its surroundings whilst cleverly meeting the spiritual need of a place of prayer.
Alhamdulillah and well done to the architects! I envy you! What I would give for such an opportunity!

I was so blessed to pray the second Jummua after it was opened.
More importantly over and above the Mosque designe, is the genius and the deep spiritualality of the noble Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad.
It’s very extraordinary, and resembles Islam as a religion of openness, understanding and mingling with other cultures…Sustainability reflects Islam’s teaching in preserving gods creatures starting from the planet and all that it encompasses from water to plants animals and mostly humans… and finally the paradise which is the ultimate promise for all believers…

When sufi inspired ideas of garden of peace, asceticism and abstinence combine with environmentally inspired ideas of simplicity, reducing human carbon footprint and preservation, it can produce wonderful masterpieces.

Very beautiful mosque, amazing.
Timber engineering is at its best to work with architecture to bring home the heavenly paradise so close to the heart of a Muslim in prayer. External landscape and garden is another feature. Road noise is an issue needs to be solved perhaps by a gigantic sound proof conservatory to enclose the garden. A must-visit place in Cambridge.
