Stress will kill you quicker than anything, and the secret he was hiding, had to have caused a lot of stress. Their personal lives were nobody's g-d business, but they both died young, so that must've taken a toll.

@FactsVerse I think you're doing a wonderful job. Your videos are always very entertaining. Sometimes, the wordings or titles could be a little bit more accurate. I was raised to never speak badly of the dead. So accurate descriptions are always important, plus it adds to your credibility and reliability, and that, in turn, gives you more viewers. I would love to see one of your videos on the sad ending of Angelo (Angel) Florez (1995), Some people may remember him from the 1977 New Mickey Mouse Club. He was a talented actor, dancer, and musician who passed away in his early thirties and his buried with his grandfather. Similar to the story that you did on Montgomery Clift. An actor who died at an early age and had a terrible car accident due to heavy drinking and his face was severely damaged, almost stopping his career. He was a good friend of Elizabeth Taylor who helped him get his career going again. Sadly, he lost his life due to poor health and had a heart attack at age 45 in 1966. Great job that you did on the Montgomery Clift. video. Another idea for a video would be on the beautiful child actress who quit hollywood at her peak Virginia Weidler. Most people will remember her from the movie the Philadelphia Story with Catherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and Carry Grant. Sadly, she passed away at a young age if I remember correctly in her forties.
@matthewschwartz6607 Unfortunately, Montgomery Clift had a severe alcohol and drug problem due to prescription medication, which he himself even admitted. "Clift asserts that the actor's use of alcohol and prescription drugs stemmed, primarily, from a near-fatal car accident in 1956. He used them to numb his physical pain." "It is commonly believed that drug addiction was responsible for Clift's many health problems and his death. In addition to lingering effects of dysentery and chronic colitis, an underactive thyroid was later revealed during the autopsy. The condition (among other things) lowers blood pressure; it could have caused Clift to appear drunk or drugged when he was sober." But due to his excessive drinking and drug use, no one noticed.

Paul Lynde didn’t get the respect he deserved. His delivery on jokes was spot on. He could take his nervous laugh and make others laugh as well. As we know with other comedians, pain can sometimes create a comedic situation. I know from my own experience, that when my parents died, the only way I could cope was through humor. I think Paul Lynde was in that same situation. It was sad that he died young. Paul Lynde had so much to offer. I tried to watch everything he was in, and each movie or show was always great! I feel like we put too much emphasis on a person’s sexuality. It never mattered to me if he was gay or not. There were other actors that hid their sexuality, and I think that’s a shame. If Paul Lynde were alive today, I think he would have struggled with coming out. But who knows? Bottom line is he was great at what he did. ❤❤

I always loved it when Paul Lynde appeared on "Bewitched" as Uncle Arthur. My late mother adored him on "Hollywood Squares. Another great actor was Bernard Fox, who portrayed Doctor Bombay on "Bewitched". Such great shows.
Yes I agree if things had been different about his sexuality back then he would if done great things he did with what he had which still left a mark on the entertainment world.
Paul was a comedic genius who was often under appreciated. Too often he was stereotyped into roles instead of giving him wings to fly. I still, to this day, miss him and Hollywood Squares. But the show was never as good without him.
Both of my parents new of Paul Lynde at Northwestern University. My mom said that even in his college days he was revered as a fine actor as well as a comic with impeccable timing and was quite the celebrity.
I was a contestant on The Hollywood Squares…Paul Lynde was long gone by then and the Puppet ‘Alf’ was in the center square. The Host was John Davidson, who was a very nice guy… My lovely parting gift was a years supply of ‘Tuna Helper’
One of my favorite Paul Lynde spots was not on Hollywood Squares, but on Dean Martin's Golddiggers show where he did a fabulous Tom Jones parody singing _'It's not unusual'._ He was indeed a comic genius.
I always remember Paul Lynde as Uncle Arthur in Bewitched. I loved that television series back in the day. I also loved him in Hollywood Squares. I did not know he had personal problems he was dealing with, but during that time, there was no social media like there is today. I thought he was hilarious! RIP Mr. Lynde.
Paul Lynde was hysterical When I was a kid I couldn’t wait till Hollywood Squares came on at 7:30 It’s so ridiculous that he had to hide the fact that he was gay Nobody cares about that today
I actually met Paul Lynn when I was about eight years old he was signing autographs for Jerry Lewis telethon in Reno, Nevada, and we are all lined up to get an autograph of his. Rest in peace, Mr. Lynd. we love you.
One of the best jokes he did: Peter: In the Lewis Carrol book, "Alice in Wonderland", which character kept running around saying "I'm late, I'm late"? Paul: Alice, and her mother's sick about it.
He had a part on the movie The Glass Bottom Boat with Doris Day in 1966. He played the part of Mr. Car Stairs doing a traffic survey. Had a fake beard and it fell off under her neighbor's push mower. Thought I would die laughing.

I loved watching him! He probably had issues more than being gay, maybe a mental issue after so much death in his family. That can change who you are and depression can affect your health. He was a genius, he just couldn’t handle the stress that fame gave him. Probably the reason he drank so much! RIP, Paul, you were loved!
growing up in the 70's we got a heavy dose of Bewitched... loved Paul in this role.... never occurred to this pre-teen that he was gay... he was funny, and that's all that mattered.... he didn't turn us all 'GAY' guess that's a comment to the riche side of our country...

He and my mom share a birthplace! 🌈 let’s clarify… The amazing, talented and hilarious Paul Lynde originally appeared on his very first episode of “Bewitched” as a driving instructor named Harold Harold. Afterwards, he appeared as uncle Arthur in a number of episodes. Just the facts, ma’am. In other words, he played BOTH characters, but his intro was as Harold Harold. Glad I could help!🤗

Loved him on the Hollywood Squares. It simply was not a good episode if he was not called on with one of his great lines several times. The only one I actually remember though is, he was asked - What is Gynophobia? His reply - A fear of dark places. I fell off my chair laughing!!! Edit update- After watching part of (that's all I could take) the collections of his "Zingers" here on YT, he had many more misses than hits. So much for memory. I am certain the above is true though.
I think Paul Lynde was great. I don’t know how many times he made me laugh. But it seems at times he just laughed through his tears. I think he was a very unhappy man.
I grew up with Paul Lynde on Hollywood Squares. Because I was young, I had no idea he was gay until after he died. But I’ve never forgotten him. He was one of a kind.
Paul Lynde got his start in a Broadway Review called "New Faces of 1952" along with Alice Ghostly and Eartha Kitt, and it was written by a young comedy billed as Melvin Brooks.
I loved his comedic style and timing. He was good on Bewitched as well, but I really liked the Hollywood squares gig. It is breat we have hime still to watch.
Either Paul Lynde was always playing Paul Lynde or he was simply playing up to his stereotype for laughs and profits. It's the deal with the devil you make in show business. Nonetheless, it was a funny caricature and he deserves credit for inventing it and mastering it. A lot of other actors and comedians never reach that peak.
Hollywood never pays attention to an actor's strengths and challenges. Paul Lynde played the hand he was dealt. If he was out, his career would have been over before it started. Even today, he would have been offered "gay", tragic characters who are bitter and catty.

Glad to know that you're a fan of Paul. Which of his roles appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse uncle Arthur
I loved watching him on Hollywood squares, he's one reason why I watched the show,he was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Us too! Thank you so much for bringing back memories. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
Paul Lynde was a comedic genius!
I love him on Bewitched he's also in a movie that I like called the glass bottom boat with Doris Day
We're happy to know that you love Bewitched. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse the one with Samantha and Darrin the first moving in that house. Samantha in Andorra are planting trees and hedges around the house with magic. And Miss Kravitz is watching out the window
