China launches mock missile strikes on Taiwan

- China has deployed dozens of warplanes and navy ships off the coast of Taiwan as part of a mock missile strike.
The two-day tests were staged to punish Taiwan's new president over his refusal to accept the island as part of China.

Chinese have never elected CCP, while Taiwanese government is democratically elected. Hence Taiwan has more claim of legitimacy than CCP

We've been hearing this for 8 years
Why all these years of talk but no action from China to reclaim Taiwan which is recognized by the UN and 183 countries (including the US) as a part of China? Because China knows it will pay a heavy price to fight a war, and it will take years to control the rebels in Taiwan. Instead, China is hitting on the head of the snake: Sell US Treasuries and de-dollarize. Once Uncle Sam becomes weak, it would no longer use Taiwan against China, Taiwan could naturally merge with China again.

It goes back much further. The problem is that the U.S. is no longer responding as it did in 1996, when it sent 2 aircraft carrier groups in response to these exercises. This is something that is recognized by the PRC and Taiwan both. It is a safe gamble by Xi to just turn one of these training exercises into an actual invasion at some point not too far in the future.
Big country should come up with big responsibility....china is totally opposite. Under one china policy china is trying to harm other small countries. 9 dash line,7 dash line is rediculous. Under 9 dash line china claims more than 80 % south china sea water. If all countries apply such logic like 9 dash line then all countries will claim most if the water surrounding its land area😂😂😂.

Theres a big difference between the “largest” navy in the world and the strongest. Most of China’s ships are small littoral ships which are no match for a navy comprised of a large number of destroyers. I’m not underestimating China’s navy at all, it’s potent, but not nearly as potent as the strongest.

Taiwan is a free country and they hold their right to be. China pressures other countries to also not see it as such by claiming war and other bully tactics to try and claim other wise. Many examples of this being true through leak agreements. Taiwan is a free country.

@@adr2t On what day did Taiwan declare their independence? What day did they become a country? Taiwan can try to secede from China, just as any region within any country can. If a US state attempted to secede, the federal government would obviously intervene and prevent it. Taiwan is part of China.
