Being their neighbors would be the coolest.
For sure
I thought about it too
true
BBNG is like an audio converter for the rappers and producers that were influenced by jazz to put their music back in its raw form
Gerald Quarles yas
Cool
Wonder where Tyler's music would be now if they didn't have an influence
@@TheyBenefit i mean tyler always had a influnce by jazz cause his mom got him into it he was just not mature enough during goblin to actually explore his more jazz side but we do see it in wolf and onwards
Their random access memories
Fast forward to 2020 I wonder if there are people still revisiting their youth. I used to live for these sessions back in highschool
All of these live BBNG sessions are so good I've been coming back here for years, wish they were on spotify or something
come back to these fairly often still.
Was in high school when I listened to this too. Hope you're well
My gf sent me bbng stuff had to coms back😊
Fucking same here pal.
"Hey can I chill with you guys while you jam"
"Yea, as long as you bring your lion outfit.."
So when are Wolf and Cherry Bomb sessions coming out?
im sayin!!
How about Igor lol
Finbar Murphy crazy to see other people still checking up on this, like it’s still relevant so many years later. That’s awesome
Ay, just checkin' to see if we got them sessions yet? Skate 4 got announced so anything can phuckin' happen.
a cherry bomb or igor cover is necessaryyyy
Yo that bassist walked all over that bass like a new carpet. That is so difficult, much respect.
this shit still gives me the feels, thank you so much badbadnotgood for inspiring me to get better at the keys now im out here playing songs off to pimp a butterfly by sound. im incredibly grateful bro .
How do you learn that skill? Is it a feel thing? Music theory thing!?
@@xoxjelloxox train your ear. pick apart different types of music and have selective hearing. like only hearing the hi hats or only focusing on the percussion all together. find simple melodies you can hum in your head or out loud and then just try to find those notes on the piano or guitar or whatever you're using to play.
i have gotten so much better at music in general since posting this comment 7 years ago.@@xoxjelloxox
wolf session
rusty
bimmer
slater
parking lot
Treehome95
lol Nand nightmare, very hidden are the songs
Lone?
+Joshua Haynes too obvious
And Wolf and pigs and trashwang
this poor fucking lion just having a meltdown throughout this sick shit
I still come back here in 2024. Genius.
same
Damn, these white boyz GOOD!
Their cover of Nightmare is beautiful. Favorite song off Goblin.
Underrated
Hell yea!
24 down thumbs, I guess some people were expecting top 40s type shit.
This is real fucking music.
+TJ Wolf If only Drake killed Fetty Wap...
Does that make top 40 fake music? Is that like fake news???
If BBNG is doing requests then how about some Boards of Canada?
Shout out to late night tales
They would slay a cover of Aquarius
I really hope you guys keep playing together for as long as you can.
Your grooves have gotten so good.
It's so true to the clean chamber jazz sound and still current and dope. It's dope.
Do some cowboy bebop songs please!
that would be so sick, especially now that they have leland they could do a sick rendition of Tank!
My Friends19 year old son turned me on to BBNG. Holy Cow!!Just swept me off my feet OUTSTANDING. FURTHERMORE, Sean has been inspired from bands such as these to persue his Master's in sound engineering. Thank you for being all that you are for your listeners ,. Sincerely Michelle.
9:48 WTF!?!?! SICK
How is it possible that I've heard the Electric Relaxation Cover... but not this? Man I wish I heard these guys 9 years ago. On god for real.
The drummer is insanely good
we need a wolf session
"Reasons To Live Pt. 2 - GOBLIN"
at 4:28, their drummer somehow pedal'd his hi-hat so well that he made dotted eighth notes or some sort of quick polyrhythm perfectly as a transition into the next part of the song.
holy fuck.
The Sunshine Group He's just playing a triplet 6/8 based groove over what the other guys are doing in 4/4, not stepping
SQUIDGYBROWNLOG Nah man that's not what I'm talking about. That's too obvious.
You gotta listen closer to hear what I'm trying to talk about. The last hi-hat hit before they go into the next part of the song is beautiful and a little accidental triplet happens
The Sunshine Group YES I heard that its triplets!! rare!!
PlatnmBeatz THANK YOU haha like who does that? When I heard that my respect for this drummer went thru the ROOF
+The Sunshine Group I think the technical name for that is hemiola
Yes, the lion was absolutely necessary.
i have absolutely no connection with the music, it leaves me completely indifferent. BUT i definitely respect the energy and the creative vibes which are going out from this group. big props, just jamming and having a good time and making music that maybe not i, but thousands of other people dig to the fullest
NIGHTMARE SOUNDS SO FUCKING SICK!!!
After 8 years this is still my favorite youtube video. I keep coming back to this jewel of a jam. Cheers from 🇦🇷!!
Wolf session lone campfire and trashwang
Yo how the fuck was this 10 years ago?
So THIS is the portal to another universe which I’ve been looking for.
The first one is one of my favorite tracks in GOBLIN and I got excited when I first recognized it!
I wouldnt be surprised if that was him in the lion costume. XD
I need to know what snare that is, can anyone help me out?
No bullshit, this is probably the greatest recent music-related UA-cam video I've seen in 3 years. Absolutely incredible. Please, guys, keep on playing, and uploading to UA-cam.
Beautiful.
09:38
O cara é genial.
Wolf session Rusty, Lone and anything else
10:20 onward got me floating ... jazz is freedom
the 13 people that disliked this wished they had a lion suit
that drummer need an oscar or something
uh yeah i still come here so often to watch this sickness 😐 mostly Nightmare... and mostly for 4:18-8:30 . I STAY OBSESSED WITH THE WAY YOU GUYS PLAY
Nice rendition of Untitled 63 in the beginning!:D
you guys are amazing , so much support you did these songs perfect an added your own style to them ! you and OF should defiantly collaborate
I was NOT expecting these dudes to be jazz guys OMG THEY'RE SO GOOD!
shit never gets old
Correction*
Untitled 63 - 0:19
Nightmare - 4:18
Yonkers - 8:31
you guys need to cover some of MF DOOM's special herbs and spices. that would be insane.
Amazing sound omg ! Congrats dudes !
wich keyboard is this ?Thank you for the music.
i love untitled 63 so much, OG and BBNG version, favourite off of goblin
bbng=awesome buttery smoothness
You guys are just too legit I had to comment twice! Lol Nightmare was so peaceful and then u put your own twist Untitled 63 and Yonkers was so sick!!! I swear you guys are gonna get BIG! Btw that bass is crazy!
9:48 the drummer kills it some more
Fantastic mixing. I stopped listening to OF months ago and still found this amazing in every way.
yessssssss, awesome metric modulation by the drummer.. great sense of time and musical chemistry from all of them. great stuff i wanna hear more!
This is the type of music that makes my heart drop.... Then think... Holy fuck
Lol rn I’m trying to learn the drums, bass, and guitar. And still working on the piano, as a beginner/somewhat intermediate.

Swag
12 years ago, wow, seems just like yesterday I was sitting in the living room vibing😢
Wolf session bimmer lone and anwser
Beasts
Hearing this on a vinyl record would probably be the best haha.
4:30 Alex Tears it up i love groovy drummers
I hope that Tyler is honored to see this, these guys have a gift.
Is the drummer wearing an Avatar (James Cameron) t-shirt???????
That bass when Yonkers start to play!
Is my man on the keyboard wearing a Cure shirt? COOL!
Probably one of my favorite UA-cam videos of all time
i like
@hendrix6 Herbie Hancock-One Finger Snap. By twenty i think you would have some sort of musical appreciation. Jazz, although complex, can be enjoyed by anyone. Please give me a good reason why jazz isn't good. It takes real skill and thought to create jazz. Music today takes a beat machine, autotune, and lyrics about parties. Learn to appreciate real musicians as well as todays musicians.
@TH89 I dunno man i think your thinking to deep into this and implying racism to innocent comments. Firstly its purely opinion based, i didn't really enjoy Goblin, but I like this. Secondly, to say Jazz is white dominated is a bit strange all the well known jazz artists aren't white, plus its just an opinion. Maybe the comments are saying its better because its something different than they're used to, or they don't like hip hop but they like that version etc But yea just relax it's all opinions
omg omg omg I'm in love with the drum groove that starts at 9:48. How can a human come up with such awesomesness? Just this one video have influenced and motivated me to go to the set and be creative lol.
@plzdontfuckup ...says most of the music out now... that everyone in our generation likes... and considering that about 85% of the people that watched this video only care for it for the odd future part in its name, other videos only have a couple thousand views. come on people, i love odd future too but the other videos are pure good music
The bassist is playing a german bow with french bow grip, someone should tell him not to do that, good stuff otherwise, but is the drummer going to wear that mask in everyvideo? Les claypool wore that exact one basically so its not that original, cant say anything bad about the pianist
@trappedinmymind99
They took random melodies from samples and whatever else from some Odd Future songs, mostly Tyler I think, and then merged them into a big jazz medley. You can find parts of a bunch of songs in there. I'm sure you recognized yonkers at the end though.
@Skateproductions58 The beat from Odd Toddlers by Tyler might have been sampled from MF Doom's One Beer, but One Beer was sampled from a song by a french band named Cortex. The song is called Huit Octobre and it's really dope. Whoever's song it is, BBNG should do it.
@cowsofdoom1 They could premiere it at like 12 at night or something so it could be uncensored . I'm sure people would stay up for it haha .
I think the first Guy knew it was Jazz
But he was upset that no one makes good rock music anymore liek they do for Jazz
Or possibly you are right and the first guy did think it was rock and was dumb WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO KNOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWS
I sure dont :)
just saw you guys live, LOL almost got kicked out for smoking pot. oh well, was wonderful seeing ya'll hopefully you will remember me if i come to another one of you're shows in the future! (the blond kid with the leather jacket with the really white friends)
Damn, that snare sounds fantastic.
The things he does to the drums. It's insane. People years ago would have tried to hinder that sort of behaviour. Imagine how much your lives would've improved if discrimination like this didn't exist back then.
I Don 't Really Listen To Jazz Or Odd Future ; But I Do Love Syd ♥ Anywayss ; I Feel Like This Is Trippy Music . Everybody Sittin In Rotation , *Shrugs* Its Groovy , For My First Time Listenin .
This is great. Amazing. & @WeGBerger ..I listen to a lot of hip-hop & rap, but at the same time I also love gettin' down on some jazz. Most good people these days can get down to just about anything.
Hello Liam. You are confused. "roffldroid" is just saying that rock is his favorite genre, and he wishes that their was a rock group out now, that plays rock as well as bbng plays jazz.
Korg SV1... very cool and not toooo expensive (compared to Nord stuff)
Or just get some Electric piano samples and a decent weighted midi controller. Sonic Couture samples are pretty good
TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Wolf session, with Lone/Treehome95/Answer. Or whatever they wanna pick. But a wolf session please. Or else i'ma cry.
Rock music? Where did you get the impression it was rock music? Can't you hear the seventh chord harmonies and accents on 2 & 4? Cmon man, this is more jazz then anything
Jazz listeners that don't like this are just not used to seeing such a sick drummer. There probably use to average drummers that can just play crash, snare and bass
I have a question for the keyboardist. Is that a Korg SV-1? I've heard mixed reviews on it and was wondering how you felt with it because the Wurlitzer sound seems killer.
@chasesuttonlol no offense but i think of is some flash in the pan type shit. i liked them when i first heard them but when goblin came out i kind of lost interest.
@arthurloui Yes. In the beginning it's a double bass. But after he changes to the electric, that's when the buzz starts to occur. That's what I'm curious about
@SgtCrazy128 times 2, would you be kind and link me a good jazz song? you have to agree that jazz is not the easiest thing to wrap your head around right?
Lmao i still watch this hard shit in 2019
what Overhead mics are being used?! I've been searching everywhere to find these mics, can't even think what brand they may be! Beautiful drum sound!
@TheDennisQuade yo check out these dudes "Stray Phrases" they did 2 live sets of donuts last year and this year, they are amazing. students from nyu
Wonderful job guys, fuckin love jazz music with OF instrumentals, you must play an acoustic concert with us, i swear coming from France just for that!!
I dont get how people could like hate a song or band etc. And click on the video and waste their time commenting about how much theh hate it.
he's vibing, it's kinda like when you listen to a song that you like, but he's playing the song that he likes, and it's just rad for him, ya know?
I’m completily forgot this gem
Fuck yeah, opening with the best track on Goblin
can you post the chords from @1:06 to @1:18? I learned the melody by ear but I can't decipher what chords are be playing against the melody
