I had interview today i was asked patient having 3 diarrhea in last 18hours and what would you. I didnt know how to answer that question can you help me....😅

assess them first, check vitals. Check their electrolytes, check their medications (like if they are on colase, hold the doses).

Ask myself, is this new? No it’s not. Check the chart. Is there anything in there that would cause diarrhea? When was the last dose of laxative they got? Are they on any meds that cause diarrhea? If none of the above, put on contact plus precautions and do stool sample
Also check their labs. How do the electrolytes look?
