I think it'll have to be different because if they do it again, I am confident it'll be 3rd person over the shoulder and the og layout might not work. People don't like their hallway simulators.
I'd like that, but I wouldn't count on it, given how they stupidly left Barry out of the RE3 remake. I'll be surprised if he's even included in this game, or if he isn't canonically killed off now.
IF a RE1 Re-Remake is made, I want TWOI things...Some pre-Mansion exploration of Raccoon City and R.P.D. prior to heading out, to give us a look at the city prior to it being blockaded and boarded up, AND I want them to restore the hidden room beside the library that overlooks the Helipad when you reach the library half-way thru the game, indicating the finish line is in sight but you still have a ways to go. It was in the original RE1 but was cut from the 2002 remake, I want it back in the new one.

Even if you cop and past onto another system. They need to remake the older games so the younger generation and have their experiences like we did with ALL the games, not just the fan favorites
@Travis-ch2ms not really, one small detail isn't really enough it completely ignore the other games that could bring even more impact to the story than just focusing on 1-4. I'm not saying we going need the remake. I think they should work on another re game that didn't get as much love or even somehow make operations raccoon city cannon to the story. Those are some really bad ass characters.

I would want a fresh brand new reimagining of whole game exactly like what they did with Resident Evil 3 remake Can't keep playing the exact same game and watching same cutscenes over and over
I respect anyone's opinion who loves RE1 Remake especially with such praise. It's one of my favorite games out there and certainly my favorite title in the series. I can honestly say for myself though that it isn't perfection. I feel like they could have added more to it. I love lore and seeing more about the characters. I think what would've been damn near perfection to me is if they made the remake just how it was, but added extra parts, like having it start off with Jill or Chris doing their normal job at the police station, doing investigating, then eventually they get called out to search for Bravo. Being able to get more of a feel for the characters and the game being normal to leading into a survival horror, that is perfection to me. but quite honestly? RE1 remake as it is is the closest thing to perfection we will get, because even though Capcom has the ability to not change RE1 but instead go deeper into it, they will not provide. No, instead they will give us something that doesn't live up to it, so there will be no point except for the money.

With the state of video gaming technology at an all-time high, there's no better way to revisit the Spencer Mansion!!! Even a DLC of the BRAVO Team experience would be awesome!

@gillywritescomics, yes RE1 was my favorite, I remember when I first played it on PS. I decided to play it in the dark and sitting close to the TV. My dog was next to me sleeping. Then as Jill, I came back into the house and was running down the hallway and that "Hunter" jumped out and let out that "scream" which caused me to scream and then I shot it with the explosive rounds. My poor dog jumped up, heart racing.... Poor thing, I had to calm him. Anyway, there was just something about that mansion so I think a proper remake would be good! Why ??? I love Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 1 Rebirth for GameCube and resident Evil DS for Nintendo DS but we don't need RE Reamke again and RE for gameCube is perfect. Resident Evil DS is very good.
what it would have been amazing for Capcom to make would be a master collection with all the classical games remastered 1,2,3, and code veronica. Also for me personally Code Veronica deserves a remake more than any other RE game

They already killed my enthusiasm with how they botched 2 and especially 3; least they could do is leave the first game alone since the remake for that was the only one done properly.
@@Logan6903 Wasn't botched? They cut content instead of adding to it; couldn't even be bothered to impliment the dual scenarios properly with the zap feature, reworked several characters that didn't need to be reworked and couldn't even be bothered to give players the choice of game style because of the ideas of "Tank contwols are tew harrrd..." and "Fixed angles are daaaaated..." well you get better at a game by actually playing the damn thing and if dated features are such an issue, then why did people want a RE2make in the first place. @@The_Phoenix_Saga I think Capcom learned their lesson with RE4 though. That game was a colossal improvement on 2 and 3, and it was very faithful to its original counterpart. As for fixed camera angles and tank controls, they're not relevant, and giving players the option of both would mean having to redesign the game to have two completely different forms of gameplay. Do you know how much work that would be for them? Just look at RE8's third person mode. It's shitty because the game was structurally designed to be in first person.
@@GoldCrotalus Oh please - 4 is the worst of them; the op game was the start of where everything went wrong with the series - that game had NOTHING to do with the original plotline and all it had as a connection to the series were three characters and a cameo of another, all shoehorned in. Good game on it's own merits but I will never call it or any game that followed, a Resident Evil. It's remake has the same passion put to it as the original's remake... now if they just undid the irrelevant plot and actually finished off what the original series started from REs 0 to CV... That would perfect. "How much work..." goodness sake - the fans that had a cease and desist order for their RE2make managed it with only their own resources. They managed it, Capcom has no excuse.

I literally just finished resident evil 1 remake on PC after playing the remakes of 2-4. Absolutely loved it and cannot wait for this. The fixed camera angle took me a while to adjust to but once I clicked I absolutely loved the atmosphere it provided
RE1 was my first RE game and REmake is my favourite game. However I have no faith that current day capcom can make a game as good as it. Especially since the other remakes cut things and changed personalities
@TjM1978 hey man they aren't all crap, I prefer the re2 remake to the original! Re3 used to be my fav till they did 2 remake. R3make wasnt as good as re3 tho, too much was cut unfortunately but still not a bad game, them tank controls are insane to play now a days tho especially on mouse and keybored 😂😂
People who say we don't need a RE1 Remake also said the same about RE4 but we got that and it was fantastic. Another thing I would like to say is that, if you don't want it then no one is stopping you from playing the original and forcing you to buy the Remake
It's crazy because regardless of how capcom decides to release thier titles, the fanboys will buy, play and beat the games and still find something stupid to complain about. If the game doesn't meet thier selfish standards, they'll complain about it. I can 100% guarantee you that if capcom released another 1 remake, the fanboys will buy it immediately.
No, but they are forcing us to accept this as the new canon. That’s why people are so adamant about the remake and why so many people regard the Re1 remake as the best remake. It basically able to replacing the canon. Almost like the original RE is an unfinished game and the remake jist make it a definitive version. Cant say the same about Re2 and 3 remake.
@@magicwandstudio3141 Re2Remake is almost perfect, it has one problem and it's that there's not much difference between the A campaign and the B campaign. Too bad the same can't be said for Re3Remake, that was a wasted opportunity to create a masterpiece
I really hope this is not the case, even though from the video this is. I didn't like the RE 2 re or RE 3 re. I honestly think both made the story more confusing then anything, I really hope they will leave RE 1 re alone.
they really did mess up the story. some of it cut corners and expects you to have already played the original to connect the pieces since it doesnt have a fully fleshed out story of its own. some of it retconns and changes the story in original. some of it ignores the original story and glosses over various things. notes and diary are very simplistic and dumbed down. just an overall mess
Both 2 & 3 remakes were downgrade versions of the originals, like RE2 completely scrapped the classic's gameplay system with A/B runs timelines and went with non-logical campaigns routes for Claire & Leon, yet to try 4 Remake myself but I hope they don't mess up this time.
I think they should instead remake Code Veronica or RE5, But I would still get it since Capcom is on a roll with the Resident Evil series especially with the remake of RE4

It wouldn’t be. That game does not have 1/100th the fan base RE does. Just because they were similar games in the 90s doesn’t mean they have the same mass appeal.

I'm skeptical about an RE1 Re-Remake because I hold the Re1make in such high regard, and is the definition of what a true remake should be. I don't doubt that if RE1 is being reimagined in the vein of RE2 and RE3, I expect things are definitely gonna be cut. My hope is that they continue the lessons learned and applied for RE4 remake, if Capcom is indeed remaking the RE1 remake. But I echo similar sentiments that Code Veronica (if considered a mainline title by Capcom) is in need of a remake/reimaging more than RE1.

Great. Another remake with more cut content and a story that tries to be super realistic and serious, but ends up being more unrealistic and super ridiculous.
I just hope they stay more faithful to the original, just with better graphics and new controls/3rd person view. This was my favorite game, ever since the originals release, and i'm tired of remakes being more reimagining's then remakes.
@spengebabswagpants6768 I like both games, resident evil 1 and resident evil 1 remake. Resident Evil is in my blood 😅 i am a survival horror fan. I am still waiting for a code Veronica remake that game needs it more
The one we have now is fine. There's plenty of other games that need and deserve the remake more. Veronica, and Outbreak more specifically. Outbreak even just as a glow up with mod tools on steam seems like a massive free win for capcom and I have no idea why they don't do it. The problem I see with remaking one is that best case, it's just as good as the one we have now, but it's over the shoulder instead. That's the best case, and very unlikely so it seems like a massive waste of resources to try for no real reward. Get outbreak up and running, get the veronica fans a remake, and you'd generate a lot of goodwill while you worked on 9.
Remake a perfect classic to appeal to newbies with fixed camera angle and tank control skill issues is not a good idea to me. *Please Capcom, dont touch RE1 Remake! Move forward with the franchise, not backwards!*
I would be extremely excited for a remake of the remake simply because it's just more RE, also you know they're going to add more story bits and expand on characters and all that. And in the end we still have the og remake it's not going anywhere.
Honestly not a fan of this project. As remakes, RE2+3R were already taking hits and didn't realize their full potential at all. Now remaking the probably most perfect and timeless classic and the one remake that kicked them all off... I really don't see that. I think touching RE1R for another bare minimum effort remake is not going to be worth it. On the other hand, with CVX they have a title with sooo much room for improvement, adjusting the pacing (actually one case of a RE title in need of a slight trimming) and what not, it would be almost impossible to disappoint as a remake.
Very much agreed. If they do it in the same style as RE2R and RE3R, it will be underwhelming to put it lightly. However, how do you feel if they did with the same level of care as they did with RE4R? IMO that's the most worthy remake they've done thus far.

Dear @Capcom you don't need to remake the remake. I am sure if you do it, it will be lesser quality than the one from 2002. You can't achieve that quality again. P.S. please remake code Veronica and leave the REmake where it is.

Oh you funny purists! The RE1 Remake is out for more than 20 years now and most of us played through it multiple times. capcom does have shame....theyre ashamed of their old resident evil legacy. that is why they are desperate to overwrite their entire series with these "reimaginings". they have butchered the story and characters and completely ruined the tone/atmosphere. no more cheesy over the top B movie stuff. time to fill it with generic melodramatic "modern" storytelling. dull and less nuanced characters. dull and forgettable voice acting. lame soundtracks that lack inspiration. generic homogenized controls/gameplay just like any other game a complete shell of their former self....and thats how they want it, for the generic and "souless" modern audience
I'm honestly going to stick with the mentality of not believing these rumors until I actually see something more concrete despite the sources. As for the idea of a RE-Engine based RE1 Remake; I'm open to the idea if I'm honest. I don't really have the most desire of one as the 2002 Remake satisfies me more than enough, but I'll try the RE-Engine RE1R if it becomes a reality as I think it can be fun to have a 3rd way to play RE1. Also, maybe this time; there's an actual canon story told in one of the scenarios since we never got a full concrete storyline of RE1. I mean, we know who survived at the end, but we don't know the exact journey to get there since they never showed that in the game.
No thank you. We don’t want a remake. That game is already a masterpiece and remaking it will ruin it. This new gen of gaming is inferior and the only good thing from it it’s graphics.
Thank God there's someone sane here. I swear to christ they will gut the remake of the first one when Capcom makes this one. I really hope it isn't true.
I'd really like to see a remake of RE0. I really enjoyed playing itnon my switch and Billy honestly became one of my favorite characters. I also feel like it would do well as a co-op game. Obviously, there would need to be some changes to accommodate that, but i think id be cool to have a true survival horror experiecne like RE0 woth the co-op feel of RE5/6.
When these games get remade, are all the puzzles and enemies changed too? It’s been a long time since I’ve played Resident Evil, but I’d definitely like to play them again at some stage, certainly the number 2 remake
I'm not that excited about another remake with the exact same controls, camera and gameplay again. It was cool for re2 but come on. Resident Evil is just becoming another modern action over the shoulder shooter clone without anything special. It just devalues the classics at this point. Also I think the maps in re1 are too small for a run and gun action game. The mansion won't feel as creepy.
I wish they would give us the classics remastered in Hd it’s hard to come by them now and smoothing the graphics out and giving them what you get on the dolphin would be amazing I’d easily pay for a full price game for all 3.
I completely understand why there are people who DON'T want this. I'm not one of those people, because I think it would be amazing if this were remade in the RE Engine. But here's what I would want in this re-remake 1 - a canon ending. You can still have multiple ending options like the other games, but I feel like we need that canon ending where Chris, Jill, Barry AND Rebecca make it out of the mansion alive. 2 - make Raccoon Forest playable. For real, this would be a neat prelude to the horror similar to the opening to the RE2 remake at the gas station. You could find easter eggs and files when you come across Bravo Team's helicopter, too. 3 - do something interesting with the "Itchy. Tasty" zombie. You remember in the RE3 remake where zombie Brad said "Sorry" to Marvin? Do something like that with the Keeper Zombie when he says Itchy Tasty. Like maybe he's whispering that in the closet when you go in there. No music... just a raspy voice saying "Itchy... tasty..." and i may be sick for suggesting this, but... 4 - MORE GORE!!!!

Y'know what would actually celebrate the 30th anniversary? Putting the OG RE1-3 on modern systems with some quality of life improvements.

It's time for a new take with a different engine, updatet graphics and some surprises. I just hope they make the puzzles a bit more challenging than in their previous RE Engine remakes.
@@JugglernautNr9 It’s time for none of that. New ideas and further progression with the main series is where Cashcom need to focus their priorities. Leave masterpieces alone and move on. Ohhh I can’t wait to see the Spencer Mansion in an OTS perspective 🙄. Absolute losers the lot of you. Half of you wouldn’t know a good RE game if it chewed your throat out.
capcom does have shame....theyre ashamed of their old resident evil legacy. that is why they are desperate to overwrite their entire series with these "reimaginings". they have butchered the story and characters and completely ruined the tone/atmosphere. no more cheesy over the top B movie stuff. time to fill it with generic melodramatic "modern" storytelling. dull and less nuanced characters. dull and forgettable voice acting. lame soundtracks that lack inspiration. generic homogenized controls/gameplay just like any other game
a complete shell of their former self....and thats how they want it, for the generic and "souless" modern audience
@@Chaso-1124 Amen brother! Couldn’t have said it better myself. 👍
are u happy? theyre gonna butcher re1make u happy?
I'm honestly going to stick with the mentality of not believing these rumors until I actually see something more concrete despite the sources. As for the idea of a RE-Engine based RE1 Remake; I'm open to the idea if I'm honest. I don't really have the most desire of one as the 2002 Remake satisfies me more than enough, but I'll try the RE-Engine RE1R if it becomes a reality as I think it can be fun to have a 3rd way to play RE1.
Also, maybe this time; there's an actual canon story told in one of the scenarios since we never got a full concrete storyline of RE1. I mean, we know who survived at the end, but we don't know the exact journey to get there since they never showed that in the game.
if only capcom focuses on remaking Dino Crisis
I am sure they won’t have fixed camera angles either, which is the most beautiful thing about the game….
Are we calling it?:::
Resident Evil (2026)
Resident Evil Remake (2026)
Resident Evil ReRemake
Resident Evil Remake Remake
Resident Evil One
Resident Evil Remake 2
They will cut things out like they did re2 and re3
No thank you. We don’t want a remake. That game is already a masterpiece and remaking it will ruin it. This new gen of gaming is inferior and the only good thing from it it’s graphics.
Thank God there's someone sane here. I swear to christ they will gut the remake of the first one when Capcom makes this one. I really hope it isn't true.
RE 1 already had remake, it kinda shit if it get remake again, just another cash grab like re 3 remake
Dude the remake is 22 years old
I'd really like to see a remake of RE0.
Make Barry a playable character or give him a dlc. As a kid I always wanted to play as Barry.
Finally we will get Re1 VR
But here's what I would want in this re-remake
1 - a canon ending.
No music... just a raspy voice saying "Itchy... tasty..."
and i may be sick for suggesting this, but...
4 - MORE GORE!!!!
