What a lovely performance!
Bernice, lovely playing as always. Do you have any ideas on how to improve agility in jumping between registers? I’m currently learning Britten’s Six Metamorphoses after Ovid and especially movement 4 contains a lot of jumping around the oboe’s range, and I find the instrument won’t respond quickly enough. Is this something I need to do with my reed to improve the response, or is it a technique I haven’t come across? Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi there, thank you for your comment. I've found that the embouchure needs to be very flexible for agility in large intervals, epsecially making sure to relax a lot when playing low in the register. Your reed should also be light and fliexible enough to enable you to execute these leaps well. Clean fingering and good finger-tongue coordination is also necessary! Hope this helps.
merci beaucoup de nouveau !
How wonderful!
Beautiful Bernice!
Thank you Ben! 😊
How fantastic it is! Can I share this by reposting your channel on a nice platform named Gan Jing World? For sure that I will not change anything. If you are fine with that, please let me know. Thank you😍😍😍😍😍
