The first non-etude video I'm uploading in quite some time!
This time I'm revisiting Haydn's oboe concerto in C major. I first played this piece many years ago and since then never played it again till now. I find it quite refreshing to revisit old pieces of music because now I have fresh musical perspective and ideas to bring to the music. It was also fun to create the piano accompaniment for this movement. Firstly it's a lot more enjoyable to practice with accompaniment than without and also I found myself thinking a lot more about my phrasing as I was creating the accompaniment. It's definitely a bonus in this covid lockdown when getting together and playing with other musicians is so difficult.
