    Typically it's redfish being targeted whenever I fish Delacroix. But, there tends to be great speckled trout action there from time to time and the only way I'll ever learn to take advantage of it is by putting time in on the water.
    Join me as I roll out on this beautiful spring morning to target Delacroix speckled trout and discover some new fishing spots!

    Great video as always! Like the new perspectives…especially the extra high camera for the wide shot. Drone is cool but that extra high and wide is nice to see where bait lands when you cast toward the front. Will you be putting out a new summer course? Wife and I will be spending a week down around Shell Beach and Delacroix 2nd to last week in May. May is kind of a transition between spring and summer. I still need to sit down and watch the spring course this week too…thanks again for the courses and this vid!

      The content in Spring Fish Location will 100% put you on fish in May.
      With that said, I do plan on a separate Summer Fish Location course.
      After that, there's already a TON of summer content inside LAFB Elite, "Understanding the Habits of Summertime Speckled Trout" being one:

      Tight lines, Robbie!

    Devin, holy crap man, the effort you've put into making this video is far beyond what you've done in the past. The angles, the drone footage, you've really outdone yourself and unfortunately for you, raised expectations 😉. Thanks for giving it your all. Love it.

    Great video, love all of the improvements with the drone shots and production quality. I especially liked the part where you spent a few minutes talking about running in the marsh during low water periods. I was taught MANY years ago to look for crab trap floats or exposed traps to navigate shallow water marsh. The last time I REALLY stuck myself was in Hopedale along the dyke canal, I came off plane in a spot that looked good (and I had fished several years before) and whoomp! I'm in the mud and oyster shells. I looked around, and I could see crab traps sticking halfway out of the water within a few hundred feet of me. I wasn't as observant as I should have been, apparently the last 2 hurricanes had caused some silting in. Took me 3 hours to get loose, but the Suzuki came through. The over heat alarm would go off, and it would go into shutdown mode, then I'd let it cool for 10 minutes and hammer down again.
    A lesson was re-learned that day to stay on your toes, don't get complacent. Best part is that I had my daughter and grand daughter with me. They thought it was kind of an adventure, LOL. I did take the boat to Duvic's and had them service the engine and clean out the cooling system.

      It was just a tough day of fishing, but a good day of filming, so I'll take it. I am ready to get on a better trout bite, though.
      You guys do make great jigheads. I think there's something to the concept of fish aiming for the eye.

    Ditto others' praises. Love the drone shots. Story: took some green out-of-towners to Biloxi Marsh. Set up for specks about 7am. I demonstrated casting their first rigs and turned around to hand them poles, and there they were at the stern with a sandwich in one hand and soda in the other!

    I used to make fun of guys saltwater fishing outta bass trackers but after watching you I see how nice they actually are for inshore fishing.
    Anyway good to see you fishing again looking forward to the next one.

    • @LAFishBlog
      @LAFishBlog  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah, there's some kind of mental block people have when it comes to bass boats used for inshore fishing, as if saltwater models don't exist or something.
      Look, I can afford any boat I want. It's not that I can't afford a bay boat (they're not priced any more or less than bass boats, anyway), and it's not that I'm stuck with the Tracker.
      I HAVE owned and fished out of bay boats. I know the difference. I've guided out of one, fished tournaments/rodeos in the, etc.
      When it comes to fishing one or two experienced anglers out of a boat, especially on a trolling motor and with casting tackle, the bass boat is superior in every way.
      It's not even close.
      LAFB is not my hobby. It's not something I do on the side. It is my full time job and I MUST catch fish. I am going to use the best value tackle and equipment I can, and that Tracker fits the bill quite well.
      So people can say whatever they like, because they're not paying the bills doing what they love. They can hate all day long. I make a living putting fish in the boat, they don't.
      Anyway, thanks for watching. :)

      @gdj8013 2 роки тому +1

      Marsh man Masson uses a bass boat as well so I think you guys are definitely on to something.

    How do you determine what color artificial bait you use? Is it based on water conditions and the time of year, or just trial and error? And while moving from spot to spot, do you adjust the depth of the lure or stick with the same depth from spot to spot? Thanks.

    • @LAFishBlog
      @LAFishBlog  2 роки тому

      I think people overthink lure color. Just tie on whatever and focus on finding biting fish in the first place.
      In the 1,500+ lessons inside LAFB Elite you'll hardly ever hear me talk about lure color (though it is certainly covered).
      What matters most is safely navigating the marsh and finding biting fish in the first place.
      Lure color doesn't matter if there's no fish to see it in the first place.

      I’m using med/fast 7’ for my trout set up with tatula 150
      Med heavy/ mod 7’6” for my red set up with tatula 200.
      Have a sv I think I’m gonna make a top water/ twitch bait set up with. Probably gonna go with a shorter end rod. To get the downward twitch action off the boat since I’m shorter guy.
      Thanks for the reply Gotta get a pooping set up as well. Even though I don’t use that much.
      Daiwa is my go to now and Waterloo rods. The rods make the difference for sure.
