INSIDE A CZECH SUPERMARKET | Budget Travel Vlog
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 чер 2022
- In this Budget Travel Vlog, we took a Flixbus from Krakow, Poland to Brno, Czechia. It took 4.5 hours and cost $16 per ticket.
The Airbnb was $44 a night and was a 25 min walk to the city center.
The supermarket was right next to our flat and some of the stuff was so cheap! Do you think we got a good haul?
Thanks for watching!

Are these prices higher or lower than you would expect?
Kocham Czechy prawie jak Polskę, pozdrawiam wszystkich braci z Czech, pozdrawiam Was, piękne wideo kolejny raz !!!
❤😄
Czechs make less money and are taxed higher, so most locally produced items are less expensive than in the US or other countries. No one talks about Brno-no-no-no
One thing many forget is what the realistic cost is for the average Czech citizen. If that average Czech citizen is working a job for a Czech based company, paid wages in Czech currency, cost of living etc. While $24 to the average U.S. citizen is cheap, and if it's about 500 crowns per trip or per week, making it 2,000 crowns per month. Based on a breakdown for average cost of living analysis, average monthly household income, etc. The average cost of living for a single person in Czechia is about 40,000-50,000 crowns per month. If one were to buy a more realistic, more substantial amount of groceries to stock the fridge, freezer, pantry etc. It would likely be double the amount or more of 4,000-6,000 crowns per month. If the average income is 60,000 crowns per month, that does not leave alot of room for any kind of unexpected expenses, savings, investing, or spending cash for leisure activities.or if that Czech citizen's income is substantially lower than the average, well, good luck.
Average wage is slightly above 41k CZK. But median is about 37k CZK. So go figure :)
@@Gorbi1985was the war in Ukraine the excuse to higher the prices and now the war in Israel to continue this crasy cruise to expensiveness? I mean, for Americans with minimum salary to more than 4k per month these prices might seem low but for the rest of us its a pain in the neck...
@@vlimavlima44 Taky jsem našinec :)
Most people have wages around 25-35 K, though. Expedients even have 17K. It´s the city of Prague that earns high salary and elevates the median for the whole republic. Let´s be realistic.
"fancier breads" no, that's standard bread, white thing you pointed at first is just toast bread, I am surprised it's that expensive for few grams of molitan, it was for like 15 CZK only few years ago. But it looks pretty cheap there even for Czech from Bohemia region, big bohemia chips normaly cost like 40-45 Kč, small redbull for 25 is really cheap.
Cheap juices are not real juices, it's just piss with flavor.
BTW, I like how you pronounce Brno as BrNO 🙂
honestly, iam a czech and i eat toast (american) bread more than the czech one, but there are particular dishes like goulash etc.. which i have to have our sourbread with
I'm pretty sure this 15 Kč beer was not for the 4-pack but rather for a can. Still pretty cheap tho.
That would have been crazy cheap for the 4 pack
I cried when i saw they bought that impostor thing posting as bread.
My old home town of Czechia!
never been to Brno, hope you guys had a wonderful time there
Stay tuned to see more of Brno 😉
There are a lot of different restaurants and pubs in Brno that won't clean your wallet as much as in Prague...The surroundings of Brno are also very interesting
LOL, just checked out a catalogue and indeed the price of beer/pivo is cheap, down to USD 0.4 for a 500ml can (on special 35% off).
Its an alcoholic's nightmare!
Why you bought the toast packed bread? Or looking only on the packed breads? Just try to buy fresh real bread.
We got there late and the other breads there were already very hard. Usually, we do buy real bread :)
saying bread and pointing on toast hurts my czech soul
We are American we don't know what bread is
Just discovered your channel. Nice video. Haley reminds me of Sam from Wendover. :)
We don't know who that is but we will have to check it out! Thank you so much for watching!
Visiting czech republic for the first time this autumn. Going to Brno. Thanks for the video guys! Beer 4x pack for less than a dollar.... Oh
That was their mistake. The Heineken was being offered at 15 crowns a can. Unlike in the US, you can remove a can from the four pack and just buy it.
@@kaninma7237 ah thanks for the add!
there are beers also for like 10 cents a bottle so ye it is very possible. (they suck though.)
@@GoGicz lie, the cheapest beers are around 9 crowns which is closer to 40cents and as u said they are horrible.
@@MrMajsterixx no like i saw one, it was already cheap but on sale for 10 cents.
Omg you bought that awful toast bread in Czech rep . you should try their bread - thousand times better or rohlík which is better version of toast bread in our opinion
Yeah the bread was horrible we didn't even eat it
4:31 welcome to Czech Republic
The fact that americans call that white stuff bread is hilarious 😂
Did you like the Baltics or Czech republic better?
We love both I don't think one is better than the other
That wasn’t hummus but mustard ^^
Ahhh thanks!
When I travel form Czech to other countries Im allways traumatized by local beer prices..
Do not go to Australia.....
What supermarket is this?
Vroubky were mustard
Thanks!
HELLO/AHOJ FROM CZECH REPUBLIC Z ČESKE REPUBLIKY
can you please name supermarket you visited here and also famous ones to buy vegetables oil etc butter meat etc please please
Not sure of the name this was filmed in march of 2022 lmao
SO CHEAP COMPARED HERE IN DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA. MY GROCERIES AS A SINGLE PERSON FOR ONE MONTH IS $600 EXCLUDING EATING OUT.
Bay area go hard
I aint buying any noodle's named cocka!loll
You can literally translate čočka to "lens" lol
Czech people are happy to make $1000 per month and they pay at least $800 for rent and utilities. And that is pretty low price for it. So you are lucky to have $200 for food, phone bill, and other things like clothes or any type of fun. And if you are single parent you are screwd
Cool. Talk about Czech wages next time.
I don't know anything about that
What is the name of this Supermarket ?
Can't remember the name sorry
Yellow prices ara products in sale. So yellow prices are not "normal" prices.
Thanks for letting us know!
$24 for all that stuff. Crazy. Way more expensive here in Canada.
Time to move to Europe!
@@HaleyandZach Too close to Putin at this time...
but you have 4 times higher salary and oil and gas is going literally from ground in front of your house, we have nothing, only uranium which was stolen by soviets so it's empty mine now 😀
It's actually pretty expensive for few things, 15 years ago, you could have big purchase for like 200 CZK, prices are going up really fast, some things cost 3 times more than 1 year ago, it's crazy.
@@Pidalin But we also have Liberal dictator Trudeau here...
One beer is 2 dollars, I want to know where you have been that there was a pack of 4 beers for 14 crowns 😂 it was price for one, but still really good price
I can't remember the name but it was the huge supermarket in Cejl next to a tram stop
If you pay 2 dollars for a beer outside of a pub, you have paid too much. Generally, beer in Ostrava ranges from 10 crowns to 23 crowns for half liter cans. In the pubs, you may pay anywhere from 35 to 54 crowns, depending on your choice. The upper end is Pilsner Urquell, while most others are between 34 to 42 crowns, or 2 dollars or less from the tap.
@@HaleyandZach Albert hypermarket
What the supermarket name?
Albert hypermarket
this is not about neighbourhood, this is just Brno XD
Brno was lovely! We stayed in the Cejl neighborhood...
