- Ponte Tresa continues to produce some excellent fruits for us with these being our largest of the season, being moderately large. The fruits have an intense berry flavor, moderate sweetness, and syrupy. The second fruit in this photo demonstrates how the intense dark red color of the pulp can even come to the surface of the skin.
I appreciate hearing you eat the figs, Harvey, as you can hear the level of your enjoyment of the fig, which further demonstrates the quality of the fig. Thanks for sharing these helpful reviews. I hope you continue them every fig season in the future.

Almost a three-fig taster...
Does one need both white madeira and ponte?
I want them both and think they are both top figs worth having in a collection. They are certainly different from one another. White Madeira #1 is sweeter than Ponte Tresa while Ponte Tresa has a more intense flavor.
I saw different reviewers on ponte tresa but the red pulp is not strong as yours is it about ripening period?

Yes, several people have successfully grown this fig in areas without the fig wasp.

No, but we will have cuttings offered. Personally, I would probably graft this onto very vigorous rootstock unless you are growing in a container.
@@Figaholics like Chicago Hardy???
Chicago Hardy may branch out too much to make a good rootstock. I usually chose Brown Turkey.
