Mine started as a TF 160 VVC, which has been remapped and with a few sporty mods. Now, in theory, 175 BHP and some. Sounds and drives beautifully. Love it.
Beautiful. Same colour and year as mine . This is a real credit to you . I am doing mine up too and it is nice to see one just like mine that can inspire me. Love the car to bits
Nice car! Had just seen one today here in Houston, Texas at a mechanic shop. Had license plates from Mexico. Never seen one before. Took a couple pics.
Perfect. Mine (identical colours, 135hp) has 220k miles on the clock, of which 190k by me and adding. It still looks and runs great, but yours looks and sounds absolutely perfect.
Beautiful condition on outside, better than my 160vvc (K MAPPPED). However recon subframes, Satur springs & shocks, Satur camber castor kit, camber adj rear suspension, engine & underfloor S/Steel pipes, 280 mm rear discs, suspension & engine torq stay all poly bushed, new wiper motor, new str rack, front wishbones replaced, new discs all round, s/s brake lines, all ball joints replaced, s/s silencer, full 4 wheel alignment to my settings by Northampton Motor Sport, usual cambelts & water pump replaced, new cantrail hood seals, dark smoke Lexus rear lights, brake servo brace, new dual colour leather str wheel. I'm sure there's more, but have run out of money to get resprayed. But hand on heart she (Poppy) want's for nothing underneath. Oh, I forgot Satur re grease clutch arm, new clutch as well, & not forgetting boot wiring by n/s hinge modified to stop shorting/fire risk. She will never win pride of ownership because of paint work, all I care is how she performs, I know what's under the shine.
This is what car/classic ownership is all about. Your pride and joy. The sheer fun and pleasure of owning your car and making it better in all the small details so it adds up to be so great. The last of the proper British Sports car too. Sorry to hear about your doggy, that cut me up a little, but lovely to see you still cherish the memories. Car is superb, keep on keeping on sir. You just love to see it.
Is this car really problematic cuz i see everywhere avoid mg tf 1.8 ...?? I want to pick up one because i fucking love the shape and the exterior look and it costs nothing but will it be totally unreliable???
Big jump from 116/135 to 175 bhp! Have you done the works yourself, or done it up bit by bit yourself? Tracked it at all? A very well presented car! A credit to you!
It was a 135. I've had it done in stages. Every little bit helps. I wanted to have it re-mapped but no one seems to be able to do it. It’s never been tracked. I want to modify the brakes before I decide to track it. I’ve owned the car for 12 years. Her name is Bridget.
@@MGTFUK Thanks for reply. I'll ask my friend if he had his S1 Elise mapped, he's up to your bhp, but his started out as a 160vvc. I share a 116bhp MGTF for track work. Unfortunately put the larger brakes on (304mm I think), now even with spacers, the wheels just hit the brake callipers 🤔 Before work was done, I read on internet that it was possible with spacers, found others posts after it was done (🤯)it doesn't. It may just work if suspension all new with very little play. Largest brakes will work with 10 or 11 spoke wheels though, but to be honest, just go for the slightly smaller brakes (280mm?), as they probably grip better that what the tyres can do anyway! Sorry if you knew all this already. Enjoy your car!
@@MGTFUK JKM Motor Services Ltd in Portsmouth, Hampshire did his S1 160VVC Emerald ECU. Max dyno power 170bhp, max torque 150ft.lb (so up from approx 120 odd as standard). He's got an induction kit on it, & lighter flywheel. He said he noticed the better torque the most.
Yes, I had a competition clutch fitted with a much lighter fly wheel. It cuts the wheel spinning out and I'm off the mark much quicker. Thanks thanks for the interest and I will certainly enjoy my Bridget. 👍🏻
@@MGTFUK Hi love the car! ive got a 2005, 135. had her about 8 years. I call her Samatha. somtimes little piece of shit, but very rarley. usually mornings she seems to know when im angry with her anyway and saulks. keep up the good work.

Thanks for your wonderful comment. Hope you get plenty more years out of yours. They’re great cars.
@@MGTFUK Until the fossil fuels have run out, I'll probably keep driving it. And from then on I'll just sit in it and make the appropriate noises.
Brilliant. Me too. Brum brum! 💨

Where did you get all the parts from lol
Sounds nice, goes well.
It’s a new car ❤
Great video! Where did you get the spare wheel cover from?
From a great friend who’s now retired.
I have a “Chinese” 2010 TF, and a set of Abingdon alloys, but they don’t fit... Is there a difference between our TF’s?
Don’t know. Maybe get in touch with MG owners club. 👍🏻
Beautiful
Looks and sounds great 👍

You can buy it from Mike Satur. 😊

How much 0-100 ?
There’s only a few people who know the answer to your question, but all I will say is that it’s quick.
Nice job except for the quad exhaust 🤮 and the chrome hoops would look better in black chrome, your dog must of been very small.
