Fun Fact: During the hussars charge german and austrian soldiers stoped fighting. This charge was so impressive that they just wanted to see it. Definietly a charge of couple tousands of hussars was worth seeing.
Not couples thousand but 18.000 horses, that is the biggest cavalry charge in history consisted of 3.000 winged hussars and 15.000 from the holy leagues, imagine it 18.000 horses charging the enemy
@@Bikavin Haha Horses go jee haw
Source? I know they stopped fighting, but not to observe the attack, but to wait, just because they were faster and had a shorter distance to cover than the polish. So in order for the polish to keep up, they waited. But they were already engaging the enemy lines before the polish penetrated the defences. I don't think there is much time to embrace the attack while you are part of it.
@@silverfox9267 I believe i read in another clip that this brief halt by Holy League cavalry on Sobieski 111 left flank together with Holy League infantry already engaging with Ottomans to view Husaria and other Polish cavalry units(only Polish Cavalry came down the mountain) coming down the mountain was recorded by the Ottomans scribes themselves who wrote the noise and the shining armour etc was a sight to behold.
More beautiful than the 7 wonders of the world. Lmao
Fun fact: When the hussars charged down the hill they did so at such speed that the horses were unable to even stop and many Ottomans were simply smashed by the horses.
yeah thats pretty damn real
Dem horse aint stoppin from nothin
@@bobesponja3702 think you've never sit on a horse.
@@bobesponja3702 well pikes work because the horses are terrified and rear up
Didnt the hussars first make contact with the tartars, before they gave flight and led to the hussars smashing the lines of the ottoman camp, which was no where near the hill the hussars were first sighted by allied forces. Smells like a bullshit fact.

@ZangetsUK Basically, everyone who is interested in history, battles, military formations around the world, if they know about the Relief of Vienna, does not know that the Polish Army that came to help Austria did not end the fight against the Turk in Vienna. After Vienna, under the command of King John III, Sobieski, three more battles in other places. Two battles near the fortress called Parkany, and on the way back to Poland, she recaptured the Czech city from the Turks.
Big respect to Poland from Sweden! 🇸🇪 🇵🇱
Strong and proud near neighbour.
Fun Fact: Lately Vienna was given a statue as a remembrance. If it wasn't for brave men in vienna and poland, europe would be osmanic-islamic since then. Guess what Vienna said - they don't want it, bc it offends the turks in austria. So Poland built it up in krakow.
What interesting is, did they actually asked opinion of their turkish residents or just assumed that it would offend anybody?
People, regardless of origin, creed etc. should always be treated with absolute respect. Ideologies do not have feelings and dangerous ones should be fought into oblivion. Islam is a ridiculous proposition and an oppressive system. It does not belong anywhere, it needs to die. When are we finally acknowledge this self-evident fact?

The Turkish army was the most warlike army in the world until it met the Polish winged Hussars. These brave warriors were the only force that stopped the Turkish advance on Europe. The Turkish nation had great respect for brave warriors who were as honorable as they were. So much so that when Austria and Russia shamelessly invaded the land of these brave warriors and divided it between them, the Ottoman sultan opposed it and never accepted it. There was always a place in the Ottoman palace for a Polish ambassador until the reestablishment of the Polish nation after World War I. As a Turk, I salute these brave warriors and their descendants.

The winged hussars were a formidable force. The Polish army has always been a force to be reckoned with by all. And don't tell me about 1939 and the defeat of the Wehrmacht. The army fought heroically, despite the mistakes, and then the flight of the leadership of the army and the country. The poles are a courageous people both in the time of Vladislav 2 Yagailo and in the 39th year. Greetings to the Slavic brothers from Russia.

"I judged the Poles by their enemies. And I found it was an almost unfailing truth that their enemies were the enemies of magnanimity and manhood. If a man loved slavery, if he loved usury, if he loved terrorism and all the trampled mire of materialistic politics, I have always found that he added to these affections the passion of a hatred of Poland. She could be judged in the light of that hatred; and the judgment has proved to be right."

Battle of Kircholm . The battle was decided in 20 minutes by the devastating charge of Polish-Lithuanian cavalry, the Winged Hussars
At the end of the day, Kirchholm mattered very little. What did matter was the battle of Stångebro 1598, when Sigismund Wasa was kicked out of Sweden.

To my Polacy obroniliśmy Europę zachodnią dwa razy chwała Wielkiej Polsce i narodowi polskiemu ♥️♥️♥️🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱♥️♥️♥️

Mam tylko jedno pytanio:
- Kiedy Polska jest ponad wszystko, to naco jest Litwa?
Where I live, Leven in Scotland there are many monuments to the brave free Polish including the airborne troops that were trained here and guarded our coast and homes. As a historian I have amazing pictures of these brave young men from as early as 1940 in this area.
After ww2 many chose not to go under the yoke of Stalin and settled here,I'm 43 now and even when in primary school around 5% of children had polish second names including many of my freinds.
Thank you Poland.

I love the detail of the spears breaking on hit, I mean, it was a consequence of using hollow spears, but also to make sure the polish rider doesn't fall back for the force of the hit, so the spear tores apart
And that's why they also had swords to use as a backup!

This battle was of the most epic sort.
I didn't know about this band before but holy cow their songs are epic. Immortalizes history by singing tales.
i love sabaton
There look with their wings had a huge psyochological effect, especially in full charge. Problably the adversaries at this specific battle hade never heard of the winged hussars. Besides the skill and tactics deployed and the timing of their arrival they like shocked the adversaries by their look and pride. Angels or riders from hell. Something almost unbelievable.
In Poland, stagings of various battles are often shown, most often of the Polish Cavalry - Uhlans. Once, I was there and I saw a reconstruction of the battle, where 20 lancers galloped on horses - it was an amazing impression. It's rumbling, noise, reverberation of weapons and the biggest impression is made by the speed of these horses and agility!!! It was only 20 riders and what an impression makes 1800 !!!???
Best Regards
the Ottomans left the highground, the Kalenberg, unguarded, so the Hussars could charge down, that was a mistake they still regret...
W Polsce mamy takie powiedzenie Bóg honor ojczyzna!

Only Jan III Sobieski came to help, the Winged Hussars defeated the invaders, for which Austria, together with Germany and Russia, repaid 100 years later by taking Poland's independence for 123 years ... until 1918. Today in Vienna, the memory of fallen defenders is not celebrated so as not to offend immigrants ... What are the times, Europe, where are your values ...
Not really. The bulk of the relief army were Saxons from the HRE led by Charles V, duke of Lorraine.
The contingent from Poland-Lithuania provided only 1/3 of the total force. And very few of the 24,000 men were Hussaria. In addition, Poland / Lithuania was in the fight against the Ottoman Empire. A war had been lost shortly before. So please don't spread nationalistic nonsense. Btw. not Germany, but the former Polish vassal Prussia
> Today in Vienna, the memory of fallen defenders is not celebrated so as not to offend immigrants
source?
Jan III Sobieski fought against Russia. Should we say thank you? Before that, when we had difficult times, Polish troops reached Moscow 1613.
Centuries later, Cadimir Pulaski helped a ragtag band of rebels establish the greatest monument to Liberty the world has ever known. Poles have always stood in the breach when God demanded.
Respect from Turkiye, Polish friends O7
Imagine now... Hussars and Janissary together against our real enemy - russia

@@Shiro_PL amazing dude It's going to be a long night for Russia, there's an attempted coup.
😂😂😂 gerizekalısiniz
@@Shiro_PL Oh yeah, we Americans tried this once before, allying with the Afghans against then-Soviet Russia -- and what we got as a result was 9/11! The truth of the matter is, for any civilized nation to ally with any islamic nation against any other civilized nation is tantamount to NATIONAL MURDER-SUICIDE for BOTH of the civilized nations -- because the moslems are NOBODY's friend, their only real goal is to DESTROY civilization and replace it with islam!
