Rob - thanks for the revisit to (part of) my undergraduate mapping area - your colleague Prof Jolley was on the mainland while 5 of us were on Skye (3 in Broadford and 2 in the Ord window). Good memories.
Thanks - yes lots of good stuff that's all pretty accessible. Camas Malag is a great place for students to get into mapping. Bit of exercise needed to get to those outcrops in the Geikie v Judd scrap though - but well worth the hike...
Thanks for the comment. These (Tertiary) intrusions are all within ancient continental crust. The basement for Skye is the Lewisian complex ... similar to that visited in a couple for videos here (Gairloch, Torridon).
Thanks Rob for the video - this area south of Camas Malag was my undegrad mapping area in 94-95!
A great and classic area for UG mapping projects - I hope you had fun!

classic ground!
Great video. Interesting story and illuminating to see the geology available to you along a track. Thanks for posting!

Thanks. It maybe an evidence from oceanic crust to continental crust. Limestone-gabbro intrusion unit /dolerite dykes- granite intrusion unit.

To paraphrase a poor series, "The field is always right."
Indeed - though we observe it through our eyes/interpretation framework of course. But at least the rocks are there for everyone to debate...
