I've been using the DJI Osmo Action 4 for a few months now and in this video I'll tell you 2 things I really hate about this action camera. But, I'll also tell you the things that are good, and those that are just ok. And, I'll compare it to my experiences using the GoPro Hero Camera, and the DJI Pocket 3.

The design of the Osmo Action 4 USB-C port cover takes into account the strength of the force exerted by different people and the smoothness of the cover's opening and closing, and a release button is included. Osmo Action 4 is waterproof at depths of up to 18 m. Here are use tips for filming underwater without the Waterproof Case:
    1. Before installing the battery, check whether there are any foreign objects in the battery and compartment, as foreign objects will affect battery contact and the device’s waterproof performance.
    2. Check whether the USB-C port cover is stuck with any foreign objects, and ensure that the Lens Protective Cover has been tightened.
    3. Check that the Lens Protective Cover is intact. If it is damaged, please purchase a new one and replace it. Check the Lens Protective Cover and the surrounding areas of the lens for foreign objects, as foreign objects may damage the Lens Protective Cover and lens, and affect the waterproof performance of the camera. Before going into the water, please check whether the Lens Protective Cover is tightened, and make sure that the rubber gasket at the bottom of the lens threaded ring has not fallen off.
    4. The camera is not waterproof without the battery compartment cover, USB-C Port Cover, and Lens Protective Cover.
    5. When jumping into water with Osmo Action 3 at an excessively fast speed, the camera may be water damaged if it has a momentary excessive impact with the water surface. Please take precautions before diving.
    6. Do not use the camera in hot springs or expose it to corrosive liquids. It is not recommended to use Action 3 in harsh water environment or an unknown liquid.
    7. Rinse the camera with clean water after using underwater, and completely air dry it before using it again.
As for the tilt issue, we recommend that you perform a Horizon Calibration on a horizontal plane. You can use Steady or RockSteady mode. To keep the horizon flat, we recommend using HorizonSteady mode.

Thanks for your comments and help.
"As for the tilt issue, we recommend that you perform a Horizon Calibration on a horizontal plane....To keep the horizon flat, we recommend using HorizonSteady mode." Yeah I did all that and it's still left-tilted 😕

I hear about the horizon balancing thing but this is not that Bad, not a deal breaker Imo. Your kind of moves while filming is not shaky enough to activate HB. Maybe u shud just stick to standard rocksteady.

Good idea. I’ve been trying that but doesnt work so well when hanging out the side of a train trying to film 😵‍💫

You can always put it in a waterproof case which I would suggest, when it comes to horizon balance you also have an option to calibrate.

Did calibrate… also contacted DJI who confirmed the issue with these cams 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of the issues about gopro is it keeps crashing and overheating how does the DJI fair over this ?

I've never had either of them overheat or crash, so I can't say for sure either way

I feel your comparison to driving a car is flawed. There is a learning curve to driving. You need to get the feeling of the clutch and know when to change gears, timing of your turns when doing parallel parking, etc... Same with cameras. If you want the best use out of any camera, you need to know the basics of ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed - these are all basic things most cameras have and this knowledge transfers to most cameras. With this knowledge and a basic understanding of the limits your existing camera, you should be able to get most use out of it.

At present, have both DJI Osmo Action 1 &3. Was thinking about getting #4 but have had no major issues w/earlier models, so decided to Pass.
Have taken both Osmo Action's into the ocean, but always encased it, just as extra precaution. Have no issues when used that way also. Like you, am no amateur professional geek. Just wanting my equipment to Run n Gun...Highly Satisfied... Aloha from Hawaii

Action 4 is a decent cam, comes with some learning curve, as pretty much any tech. Let me kindly disagree - how long did it take you to learn driving a car? To drive properly, you need to understand how to use the basic controls, and it is the same with any camera, it will give you the result you want if you use these basic controls right...

If he spent half the time he's spent complaining about the Pocket 3, he'd know how to use the Pocket 3. It's not a complex camera to learn. Changing the gimbal speed for example is a swipe and two taps. Just laziness masquerading as content

I did change the gimbal speed 🤣 didnt like the effect on different settings either.

Agreed, I learned to drive after the 2nd attempt and passed after 6 lessons. I learned the GoPro in less time, but this camera seems ‘different’

I'm surprised you didn't get the insta360 ace pro. It might suit your expectations on low light.

That would be an extra piece of kit I’d have to take which I dont need to with a GoPro 🤷🏻‍♂️
