      Brandon Davidson Mixed. We clearly have a lot of racism that still exists in this country.which is disappointing to me 150 years after the civil war. We see blacks, as a whole, have less opportunity than whites and it is clear that blacks get targeted by police more often than whites and get more punishment for the same crime.
      Yet some in the BLM movement are using it as an opportunity to encourage violence against police. And many of the people the BLM movement point to as being "victimized" brought the punishment on themselves.

      we subsidize our NATO allies with large amounts of cash and equipment. The united states ends up footing the bill for portions of other nations defenses as well.

      We do spend a hell of a lot on national defense although as a percentage of GDP, it is not particularly big percent compared to the large industrialized countries. To be honest, I pay a lot in taxes and others are putting their lives on the line to protect US interest here and abroad. If I had my choice where the money was going, I'd want to make sure that those who risk their lives to protect my family have the best equipment money can buy. Problem with the government is that for every 2 dollars sent to them in taxes, $1.30 of that is lost to waste and inefficiency. Pretty poor investment when you give more money to the government.

      Can anybody point to a ruling or other official act by Judge Curiel in which he has displayed bias, or treated Trump unfairly? Trump's lead counsel, the very capable Daniel Petrocelli, has pointedly said 1) Curiel has been even-handed in presiding over the case, and 2) that he has no plans to ask for Curiel's recusal, because no grounds exist to justify such a request.
      In fact, Curiel made at least two rulings that benefit the defense: He granted a motion to delay the trial until November, when it was originally scheduled to begin next month, and 2) he bifurcated the trial so that the liability phase is separate from the damages phase. What this means is that even if Trump is found liable for consumer fraud (which is very difficult to prove, especially in a case like this), each individual plaintiff will have to prove specific monetary damages less than the sum he or she initially invested in "Trump University." So there isn't going to be a huge, lump-sum damage award in this case, even if the plaintiffs prevail, which is an outcome I consider unlikely.
      Curiel didn't grant Trump's motion for summary judgment, because he can't: There are material facts in dispute that have to be adjudicated, unless the plaintiffs move for dismissal.
      If Curiel were some crypto-Reconquista agent, as Trump and his adherents pretend, he certainly would have found some excuse to rig the proceeding in favor of the plaintiffs, rather than applying existing laws equitably, as he has done so far.
      What we're left with is Curiel's membership in private associations of Latino legal professionals that were duly scrutinized, and found to be entirely innocuous, by the Republican-led Senate at the time of his confirmation hearing, and the staggeringly irrelevant fact that he is a native-born American whose parents were born in Mexico (and became citizens, interestingly, before Trump's Scotland-born mother was naturalized).

      Trump already released his financial disclosure forms... he shouldn't release his taxes until after the election or not at all. And by the way, Trump only filed Chapter 11, which means he paid it all back WITH interest... so what debt are you talking about ''the rest of us paying his bills''? And three times he filed bankruptcy were contracts he bought and threw directly into bankruptcy to negotiate with the banks that owned the lien. Get a clue, you low-IQ liberal.

      Net worth does not mean you earned it through cunning and ingenuity. Remember that he called a loan from daddy for the tune of a cool million small. He inhereted most of his wealth. I could win the lottery and by your defenition be a good business man despite not owning a business, but who would you be to judge since I would have more money than you.

      Israel is a democracy and it definitely isn't under any sort of religious law. There are plenty of atheists who live in Israel, serve in the military and even the government. The majority of Israelis believe in the seperation of Church and state. On the other hand there are several middle eastern countries where Islamic law is the law of the land.
      Israel has made many concessions to Palestinians over the years including giving up territory for the establishment of an Palestinian state.
      The Palestinians responded by electing a terrorist organization as their ruling political party!

Even the supreme court is only supposed to decide the constitutional factor, not rearange, cut, and paste it into something that would frighten Dr. Frankenstein.     love it. stein has made his whole career on his reputation as an educated person. his explanation for voting for trump boils down to: i'm going with my gut. he likes trump's stand on national defense, which is spending more. (that's it, no plan, no strategy, just spend more) so i guess spending like drunken sailors is something republicans support now. guy sells out all his values to vote for someone he admits knows nothing because he is afraid of a woman being in charge. that's it plain and simple.

      Our financial system was or is capitalism (such as it is today) but our Declaration of Independence and preamble to the constitution includes belief in God (the Republic) and Democratic Socialism.
      Our government was founded on Christian principles but is a Democratic Republic in the sense that the Lord Jesus didn't combine church and state. No other religion or ideology offers the principles of freedom, dignity of the individual, and altruistic values....

      +jannmutube why do christians always miss the all important use of the word "their" creator? it's not acknowledging one creator of man in official form, it is acknowledging that each person had their own beliefs in spirituality, and the rights given to them by THEIR interpretation of the creator. this does not mean christianity, this is just another example of this being a secular nation, where all faiths are welcomed, and none are enforced. it's this seperating of faith and government, put in place by men (not jesus christ) like Thomas jefferson, a fervent opponent of christianity, that led to this nation prospering, by allowing the government to work with its citizens and focus on the people, rather than the bible, we prospered greatly. look at nations ruled by religious law, they're oppressive hellholes, and christianity especially biblical law would be just as oppressive and horrible.

    Okay I understand that Donald Trump had $1 million to start with. But he turned it over $4 billion. I always thought that if I've ever won a million dollars... it will last me about 5 to 10 years. I never thought about if I won a million dollar, I can turn it around make even $10 million. It never crossed my mind to even think that way. Trump is an incredible business man.

      The only point I was making was, everyone has an opinion, and political people weather professional or not, make promises. It really doesn't matter what these folks think? I vote the way I see it to be.
      If Ben believes there is God, that's good too, because that's what I believe, but his ideas on wheat farming is the same as his thoughts on a presidential candidate. All these celebrities come out talking g about what they think on the candidates? Why would I care? I form my own Opinion?

      Ben Stein is a writer first and foremost penning Presidential speeches right out of Yale and latterly advising on economic affairs. He was a screenwriter for a time, just for the hell of it. His appearance in films and the odd tv commercial was because they wanted him, not the other way around. He didn't fail at acting because he didn't try to be one. Ben Stein is one of those guys who is smart enough to do pretty much whatever he wants. He only sounds like a moron here because he's using 'Trump' and 'President' in the same sentence.

      Moe MGTOW Wow, you have no clue how bankruptcy works do you. A business is liable for the debt it has amassed, not its leadership. Therefor if a business amasses significant debt while paying "Yuge" salaries (and bonuses) those who profited are not liable to repay that money (or pay extra taxes etc.). Therefor a person could rack up significant debt on a business while giving themselves significant profits and when the business goes bankrupt, walk away with no losses (especially when they got others to make all of the investments as Trump stated he likes to do). Which he has done numerous times: Trump Airlines and Trump Casino (which actually has had 2 bankruptcies so far), Trump the Game, Trump Magazine, Trump Steaks, Trump Water, and numerous others. Trump only real success has been his tower (built by illegally demolishing a historic building) and his television personality.
      And Trump didn't make the vast majority of his money until after his father died, your point?
      You notice how Ben Stein never stated that Trump was a great candidate because of his strengths, only because of the weaknesses of his opponents.

So when the banks during the housing failure paid their executives tens of millions of dollars in salaries and bonuses and then went bankrupt those executives were sued right? Wait, none of them were. You know like Lehman Brothers that was even investigated for actual fraud (not related to pay) and yet their executives walked away with YUGE bonuses. Or remember the corporate raiders of the 70s and 80s who seized companies at low cost then liquidated them for personal profit and then often brought them into bankruptcy. No? Then I suggest you go back to school and actually learn something.
      Trump is a bad businessman because creating numerous companies and burning them the ground in a few years is a bad business model. A good model is to build a company that lasts a significant time and controls a majority of a market earning extremely large profits (companies like GE, IBM, Apple, and numerous others that makes Trumps businesses look like a kids lemonade stand). Heck even Mark Zuckerberg turned his investors money into YUGE profits and making himself MUCH wealthier than Trump, while Trump made himself wealthy while often losing his investors money (not a good business model).

    Stein should know about attempts to intimidate others --- because his film "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" amply demonstrated the fact that evolutionary theorists preferred intimidation to incontestable proof. Every time I'm forced to debate with an atheist on one UA-cam page where that film of his is ridiculed, I'm reminded of the tactics of the Gestapo.
