The Eagles didnt overuse that intro strum during the rest of the song when playing live either. You are correct, there needs to be sonic space for the vocal melody, etc... So many bad lessons out there. Yours is excellent!

Nice lesson. I’m sure you know those aren’t triplets but an eighth and two sixteenths right?

yes but over the years of teaching i've noticed it's easiest to describe it this way as most guitar players aren't reading music and practicing a lot of official notation. saying 'triplet' tends to help most players get the idea

Yeh I get it. I’m from a trumpet background so reading is second nature. Maybe not a necessary comment. Sorry if it came across as snarky.
