    Best recommendation is keep it SIMPLE!! Is the best way, I don't see how adding boards with thousands of components on is more efficient the more you have the les reliable. I hate working on the new systems, I'm old school since 1994

    Great video. I've been a service tech on the commercial side for over 30 years. This type of training you do is what I would like to do for the apprentices within our service dept. It's a lot harder for new guys to get familiar with the hvac service techniques now than when I started as an apprentice.

    I/O lets GO.... As a BMS (Automation) controls engineer.... All AHU's in the UK are having the proprietary controls removed and back to standard control systems. All Techs will need to understand BacNET (American standard). It is a great controls system

      Was gonna say, we rip all that out and out in our own sensors, actuators and relays, we may still use their terminal strips but that’s about it

    Hello! I am from Spain and I have watched some of your videos and learned a lot, as I am starting on this complex world of refrigeration. I got curious about this video as I have recently finished a training on automation and plc programming and wiring with some LOGO and 1200 from Siemens, which has helped me a lot to understand. The industrial buses communications as you explained where every single sensor or actuator sends and receives information trough one bus and you just have your plc and your power outputs (contactors etc...) I truly think is the direction on we are going to.
    Big hugs from the other side of the ocean!

    When testing the thermistor's even if you have the needle meter leads, tape the thermistor to the unit, it's usually long enough and your done in seconds, instead of fumbling around.
    I saw a guru on here do that. He was testing on a 6 wire pin, ohmed out the first 3 all good got to the fourth bad used that tool to take the wire out and traced it back to it's location. Taping it up made it so simple.

      Yup. 90% of the equipment I install and maintain on the resi side are inverter driven vrf systems. It's really efficient, but really expensive, unreliable, and very cost prohibitive to repair. The industry is moving that way for a reason. Designed obsolescence.

    This is why we need to demand "right to repair" so that we don't have these manufacturers making it impossible to troubleshoot the micro controls with out proprietary computer software that isn't available to the public. This is the way everything is going, cars, HVAC equipment, appliances , everything!

The issue here are the policies putting out by our government and its agencies, to meet environmental requirements of efficiency and safety. My personal opinion, it is all politically motivated to discourage the use of oil and its byproducts. Simple !

  • @nightone9720
    @nightone9720 2 роки тому +7

    This stuff really isn't difficult. It's just new. The only problem I have with making things more efficient is that all these thermistors, transducers, and control boards are built so cheaply and break so quickly due to companies trying to be competitive with one another that it literally defeats the purpose. I just wish components were built with a better quality so that I dont have to replace these cheaply built overly expensive control boards and sensors. Customer buys an high end piece of equipment to save money but then the warranty ends and a $1500 control board fails and now all his savings are thrown out the window. What a rip off lol

This is for a select few merchants that want to have a fully automated system majority of places can’t afford this kind of automation. You can only finance so much…
