I spent 2 hours trying to make the replacement blades work. The drivers side worked, however the passenger side would not work. Turns out that they are for left and right. I was able to cut the plastic adapters with a snipper. Then it worked.
Avoid Wiper chatter by ensuring wipers edge sits perpendicular to the windshield. If it isn’t, it’ll act as a brake in the direction it’s moving and skip as it flips over. You only need to adjust the wiper arm and twist it with pliers until the blade sits at right angle to windshield.
I would not use petroleum products (Vaseline) on rubber or vinyl as it will make it hard. A trick my dad used was vinegar (Windex blue woks) on a paper towel to remove surface oxidation.
@mikescott58 I just checked the old wipers and fortunately they feel soft. I did try Windex, and even a knife to scrape the leading edge… The new ones worked MUCH better from the get go. The old ones were c-rap from the beginning! I just can’t believe I didn’t lose my mind with the old ones sooner. Ugh!
I have a answer for your windshield Wipers, I have the same car I went through the same problem and it started driving me crazy. Because I couldn't find windshield. Wipers in auto stores The dealer asked me eighty dollars for the pair I noticed you had a difficult to try to put in refills. Check the internet how to do it. It worked perfect for me.
Or, just write it out as links can break over time. I got wipers for free from GM for "my troubles." What's funny is that GM didn't seem aware that there are 3 wipers on the car, and all of them suffer under the same sun and need replacing. So, yeah... Tom = 10, GM = 0.

This has been a huge problem on my 20 bolt, the wipers are absolutely horrible
I forget where I heard this but wipers are sold for an obscene amount of profit.
Tom, Are the part numbers the same for both the passenger side and driver's side?
No, they are not… apologies for not being specific!
Driver side: 42724844
Passenger: 42772945

Also I could send you a video showing you how it works

You're just gonna say "check the internet how to do it?" Don't you think it would be helpful to put the link here?
