I just wanted to take a minute and thank all of the line workers again who have been busting their behinds in making sure that we weren’t without for longer than necessary. It was a tough 4 days, but we survived, and I do want to share that my heart goes out to those who have lost everything in the wake of this damn hurricane. As crews continue working day and night to rerun all the overhead wires, and remove all of the debris from the roads and service areas, we continue to be left in the dark. One of the things about the south is that the idea of centralized technology doesn’t exist. I spoke to the city administrator yesterday. I asked him whether or not this town and the surrounding county areas had any sort of ne...

I’m heading to nearby cities and towns to look for someplace that has power. We’re probably gonna end up losing most of our perishables today. All of the ice machines that I’ve looked at so far have been emptied out and most gas stations are closed so hopefully finding a town that has power will give me the ability to fill up my car as well as get food for my family. There's been a lot of things that has happened to me and my family over the last five months or so. Falls Park on the Reedy is a 32-acre park adjacent to downtown Greenville, South Carolina in the historic West End district. Considered the birthplace of Greenville, the park was founded in 1967 when the Carolina Foothills Garden Club reclaimed 26 acres of land that had been previously used by textile mills. Renovation accelerated in the late 1990s under Mayor Knox H. White, prompting the forma...

I must’ve walked around my house five times not finding any damage. After about a week or so, I decided to roll that piece up and put it in a trashcan. Avoid Wiper chatter by ensuring wipers edge sits perpendicular to the windshield. If it isn’t, it’ll act as a brake in the direction it’s moving and skip as it flips over. You only need to adjust the wiper arm and twist it with pliers until the blade sits at right angle to windshield.

    I can totally relate to the feeling of getting your power back. We were living in NJ when Superstorm Sandy hit and we lost power for 9 days. Our power was restored on a day when it was snowing in NJ and the power was restored by a Canadian power crew. No better feeling. Our prayers go out to all those affected by the hurricane.

    Chevy Bolt LT 2019. Do NOT have this setting available unfortunately. But thanks for letting me know where this stuff is buried. I did see how to make it so when I unlock via the door button it unlocks all the doors and not just the driver door. Been wanting that as the default. Also made it so the seats don’t get heated when remote air conditioning the car.

      I’m in the process of selling my 2023 EUV. It’s been an incredibly rough ride, and all it took was for one astronomically horrendous charging session in the middle of Virginia to make it all come crashing down. On a side note, I’ve been considering doing a 90 day review video, as it’s been slightly more than crazy around here…

    • @tomsbts
      @tomsbts 2 місяці тому

      You can probably find parts online, which came from a higher powered Mac Pro then the model that you might have. If that’s the case, see about swapping out the graphics card, the memory, even the SSD, as well as the processor for that of a higher supported configuration by Apple originally. Putting in aftermarket Parts or just a generic processor of sorts just to boost the speed will probably crash the OS.

      I typically use an air compressor to get the dust and any leaves out. If there’s mud or moisture, then only low pressure water… it’ll suffice. Wash it off and let it dry and you’ll be good. I have never used my pressure washer under the hood and have zero intention to do so.

    You are correct about stability. EVs, in addition to being heavier, have a low center of gravity due to the position of the traction battery pack. When I had my Bolt, I did notice traction issues due in part to the low rolling resistance tires and the fact that it is front wheel drive. The front lifts on acceleration and EVs have a ton of torque, which aggrivates the problem.

    • @tomsbts

      No energy wasted… less than 10kW for cooling the car down in the summer or heating in the winter time. I remote start every day to heat the seats up and make sure that comfort is met prior to my getting into the car. Energy wasted is remote starting an ICE vehicle as it is still burning fuel to idle, this vehicle is not… but to each his own.
