Yuma Disposal - CCC Maxon Legal One

- Yuma Disposal runs quite a neat fleet with a good variety of trucks, and in that fleet you can find 2 CCC Maxon Legal One front loaders. Luck was on our side early this morning as one of 2 front loaders that left was this truck seen here. They have a number of newer front loaders in their fleet as well so the very fact that one of the Maxons left was a huge relief.
Now usually when you see this combo, you think of Scotts videos of EDI, where the drivers are hauling butt, revving them as hard as they'll allow. Not the case here. A much more relaxed, laid back process out here in Yuma. Collections here are more scattered as it's all open market, and judging by how few of their trucks left on this day, it's probably a pretty light route.
A 3208 Cat powers this awesome ride, with those distinct, snappy revvs which build from an idle, to max RPM in an instant, and slows back to an idle just as abruptly. While it doesnt have that roar that newer Cat models have, but it certainly highlights the whine of the hydraulic pump which is something that all of us who prefer the classic equipment will surely appreciate.
A thank you goes out to the very friendly driver who didnt even seem phased by us, admittedly creepily, approaching him in a pitch black alleyway while servicing his very first stop of the morning.
Wow what a video, I remember seeing photos of this beast some time ago and couldn’t wait for the footage! Definitely enjoyed it especially with the clip at 3:39 great solid foot to floor revving during the pack and arm cycle. This operator had a unique rev/function operation at times where each function and rev would be individual which I don’t know if I’ve seen before or not.. excellent work to you all again for documenting these beasts southwest of the border!!
I chose a good time to refresh my subscription feed. Absolutely love the nice, classic whine and West Coast feel. CCC looks great as well, these models always get to me since the headlights and the bumper with the cutout above appear to form something along the lines of a "thinking face" emoji. Thanks for the post!
I get e-mail notifications of your uploads for situations exactly like this. It's been a while since your last post but way to make it count. CCC/Legal One is just one of those perfect combinations, no doubt partially because it was implanted early into impressionable young minds by "There Goes a Garbage Truck." More than just that though, the cab geometry matches that on the body perfectly, the same angles and everything, as if they were designed for each other. She sounds unique in the most wonderful way, lots of squeeking and squelching, the hissing from the air valves isn't something you normally get to hear, and those brakes! (8:27 they stand out nicely)
The 3208 is such a small motor, but somehow between less hyraulic demand placed on it and the lighter design of the Legal One I'd bet it hauls just as well as the MP7s in the MRUs with Half/Packs I've been messing with lately. That gangly looking stack up the side of the body is like the little Cat reaching up on it's toes pretending to be bigger than it actually is lol. Same with the high RPM revs, almost like a damn gasser. Echoed off an empty body beautifully at 1:24 with a couple puffs of smoke too, telling everyone within a 3 block radius to "wake the fuck up!!"
All kinds of cool vibes with this video, just what I needed. Makes slogging away at big corporate worth it for the chance to maybe one day run a spaced out open market route of my own with some gem of a classic. I'll be rewatching plenty, as well as playing it in another browser tab to just listen to. Hell of a job on this one. :)
White Bull 😍 love USA 😍😍😍😍😍
Great video 3amrepmike3, that CCC Maxon sounds amazing. Could you tell if this truck is ex City of Pasadena? Sure looks and even sounds a bit like the old Pasadena CCC Maxon FL's. I enjoyed watching the Maxon collect all the different sized dumpsters, what a great variety. The packer at 1:40 sure sounds great, along with the cycle at 3:40. I'm glad to see another great post from you.
WesternWasteManagement Pasadena was my first thought too, but I believe theirs all had L10 Cummins like their Rapid Rails did so im not really convinced of that. The inside of the can was white too. Dont often see interiors repainted so not likely in my mind.
And speaking of L10's, hopefully there's more videos of trucks with mean growly L10's on the way! You know how much I love the L10 Cummins!
If i see that Frontloader Truck ... i must say, that there is a great difference to german Frontloaders. The US Truck has no slide protection ... one false move with the stick and the Dumpster drops on the floor. Also it seems to me, that the whole process must be done manually (correction of the fork)..... with a german frontloader you just lift up and empty the dumpster in one turn.... every correction of the fork is done automatically. (sry 4 my english ^^)
Dude what happened you this year what happened to you
Yuma disposal is no more. Republic services bought them out.
