Yes, many European countries are attempting to solve their low fertility rates with massive immigration from Africa and the middle east. France, Germany, Sweden and other countries are being ethnically cleansed. In 50 years their traditional cultures will exist in textbooks only.
Excellent seats and excellent camera work! A bonus for me as Wakatakakage is one of my favorites. Your coverage of sumo is unparalleled! Thank you for videos like this that let us learn more about the depths and details of sumo.
Fantastic views ! as well as great content. Chris you keep raising the bar. I felt like i was standing next to you,and could smell that Pomade oil...... thx Chris.
This is actually so fucking crazy interesting, I never would have guessed I'd watch a sumo wrestler getting his hair done for 10 minutes and be enthralled the whole time.
Awesome footage. Thank you for providing the explanation/translation. I would love to sport a rikishi's top knot myself but my god, how could you possibly do this alone?
@@dsnodgrass4843 That answers my question. Thanks. So there's a likely relocation of one of the hairdressers, and a potential juggle in the amount of hairdressers in the stable. Would love for Chris to speak about this in-depth.
when do they wash their hair? or is the top knot reset before every match? with all that dirt I'm always curious how often they get in there and scrub everything out.
How often do they wash their hair? Do the pomade and oil smell bad? Does the hair dresser have to redo the top knot every morning? How do they remove all the excess sand from the pipes from the sumo wrestlers practice?
That topknot is only worn on matchday or formal occasions! If you look at videos during the summer tour, during practise for example charging sessions there aren't formal topknots. for the exhibition matches and Yokozuna entrances topknots got prepared.
i have never been close enough to a rikishi to confirm, but my understanding is that the hair wax has a distinctive sweet smell. now whether that smell remains after 5 hours of sweaty keiko...
This has happened. There was a rikishi named Taikomaru who had alopecia and was completely bald. Nevertheless, he had an 8-year career. The mage is traditional, it's a great honor to wear it, and it is always worn provided the rikishi has enough hair. However, he wears what he's got. Rikishi whose hair is not long enough to make a topknot wear their hair loose, sometimes pomaded with the same goop as was used for WTK in this video. Loose hair is called "zanbara." Come September, you'll see Kinbozan fighting in the salaried ranks with a zanbara. There are a fair number of balding rikishi. Moriurara, the lovable loser of whom Chris is so fond, has just a little string of hair plastered across his otherwise balding pate.
Lots of pomade and maybe some flat-ironing. There have been rikishi whose hair was quite curly/frizzy, although not kinky. If you look at pictures of Konishiki, ripples in his hair are evident despite the hairdresser's best efforts.
What about this takes ten years to learn or master… my wife owns her own salon.. she just watched it a is clueless too! It’s literally applying a hair tie to soaked wet hair then teasing it out..
Hearing children is encouraging for a fan of Sumo and the future of Japan. Thank you for your efforts. This channel is important.

The years of craftsmanship it takes to achieve that excellence.

I started searching things about sumo Yesterday and he Is quickly becoming One of my favourites
Waka's hair is always a step above the rest. You can see why now. His hairdresser is definitely a notch above.
Very cool seeing this up close.
The end result is so pretty... I really like the sumo hairstyle. Thanks Chris!

.or make a tip jar ??
Great work. Thank you for using a tripod! Without it videos like this are unwatchable. It was a pleasure viewing this.
That’s one of the best top knots I’ve ever seen. Wakatakage looks like a samurai
Fascinating and awesome, a really close up look at something I’ve been curious about for some time. Thanks Chris!
You are the best Mr. Chris Sumo
This is what sets this channel apart from the pack
I've been getting into sumo because of the hair. Great video this one.
The real fans are here for it. Chris tell us about the "team" !!
Ever since I watched the Tochinoshin video, I've always wondered how the hairdressers feel during the tachi-ai
Same! 😂
Yet another great look inside the life. Thank you so much for your incredible coverage!
Love my man WTK and this was riveting! His stylist is amazing, but did leave one hair out of place! Gah my OCD!
You're an absolute legend, Chris. Thank you for this wonderful coverage and your top-notch commentary. Second to none, mate.
This is actually so fucking crazy interesting, I never would have guessed I'd watch a sumo wrestler getting his hair done for 10 minutes and be enthralled the whole time.
They have such thick strong healthy hair. No breakage, no flyaways. Wow!
Amazing detail.. thanks for posting, Chris!
I'm not sure what they call it in Chinese but I think the aragushi comb was definitely modeled after the Chinese straightening comb.
Thanks for sharing. I am a big fan of Wakatakakage too!
Wow, this video was pure art! Fantastic content! Thanks as always...🙌🔥
I love your videos! It reminds me when I lived in Japan! I miss it so much! Thanks a lot Chris!!
crazy good content as always Chris!
It's so quiet I can hear the clip of his shears, thank you for this video!
so i guess chiyonofuji’s hair was much longer? he had such a good amount of that first fold that hung much lower and looked awesome.
Awesome footage. Thank you for providing the explanation/translation. I would love to sport a rikishi's top knot myself but my god, how could you possibly do this alone?
The way japanese handle things with their hands is very soothing . It's 2:45am in Texas I'm up watching this amazing video!!! True fan here
Aside from sumo hairdressers Japanese barbers are the best too, always sure to get my haircut when in Japan.
Ma gad. You got some incredible shots in there ! Can almost smell the oil!
Amazing job!! Can u guys named the products they used in that ??
I'd love to see these guys with their locks flowing freely, just for a peek.
Thanks for sharing Chris
Hi Chris,
What happens to the hairstylist if WTK gets ozeki? I heard that only some hairstylists can style an ozeki/yokozuna's hair?
@@dsnodgrass4843 thank you for this - but this doesn't address my question
@@dsnodgrass4843 That answers my question. Thanks. So there's a likely relocation of one of the hairdressers, and a potential juggle in the amount of hairdressers in the stable. Would love for Chris to speak about this in-depth.
Now this is coverage!!!
Camera work is so good I couldn’t help but see that one hair out of place above Wakatakakage’s left ear. 8:18 😂
does the mage rod remove oil somehow?
when do they wash their hair? or is the top knot reset before every match? with all that dirt I'm always curious how often they get in there and scrub everything out.
This was so cool. Thx
Do they wash their hair daily? Coz it's very greasy and heavy
Incredible!
How often do they wash their hair?
Do the pomade and oil smell bad?
Does the hair dresser have to redo the top knot every morning?
How do they remove all the excess sand from the pipes from the sumo wrestlers practice?

Whatbis the significance of the shapes, hairstyle in sumo?
is that not a clay dohyo?
Good eye, look really weird. Wonder what it is?
Does he have a few Grey hairs already? How often do they wash their hair?
Very good content but those stray hairs were driving me nuts.
I kept waiting for the hairdresser to fix them but he didn't and now I have anxiety.
Saaame
How often do rikishi wash their hair?
What would happen if a wrestler had alopecia and lost all of their hair

which sumo wrestler has the nicest hair though?
Amazing 👏 angel 😇 💖
I declare hair envy .
that loose hair made me so anxious i was hoping he would have noticed and fixed it
What happens if a Sumo naturally loses his hair?
They make do with what they have. I know there are a few balding wrestlers in the lower divisions, though names escape me at the moment.
So who invented that hair style? And how many times did he have to give it a go before he got it right?
It's a holdover from samurai days.
How are they ever going to do this with that one black sumo wrestler's hair?
Lots of pomade and maybe some flat-ironing. There have been rikishi whose hair was quite curly/frizzy, although not kinky. If you look at pictures of Konishiki, ripples in his hair are evident despite the hairdresser's best efforts.
I got a haircut today but it's not as nice
What about this takes ten years to learn or master… my wife owns her own salon.. she just watched it a is clueless too! It’s literally applying a hair tie to soaked wet hair then teasing it out..
that gotta hurt
is he cross eyed?
Yes, he is.
I'm sorry but that one, out of place, hair on the side...
