Out of all the HGTV show reno show participants, these are the only people I have the utmost respect for. Adopting a kid is the kindest thing you, as a human being, can do. Bravo to them.
Exactly. Would have had all three bedrooms upstairs and done a bump out if necessary, for the bath-space. It also creates fewer problems when they start expressing teenage rebellion, as well.
@@peacedove1182 Still bad design. It just shows the designers were poor at helping the homeowners realize a better plan. I shudder to think of a fire. Which reminds me, balconies make sense...
As a paranoid mother of then small children, I would never let my kids sleep downstairs, but in this house, it makes sense. It's just too small upstairs for what they needed. I would just be camping out downstairs until my kids became teens.
Was it $ 110.00 for the upstairs and the kids room downstairs, without the kitchen? That seems to me like a lot of money for the kind of renovation which has been done.
I'm not sure how the "it's all about family" theme, and the fact of a toddler and a new baby, square with the idea of allocating *more* space to the couple.
With small children parents and kids should be on the same floor . They should of just did a addition on the house and gave then what they needed new bedroom and bathroom upstairs . Left playroom where it had been .
You know what, I love, love your show because you two decorate better than anyone "but", since you two don't have children, I want to give you some advise. Kids need to have their bedrooms, especially babies on the same floor as the parents. To be ideal, if it's a newborn or a child under three or so, their bedrooms "should" be next to the parents room or close. Also, kids don't take showers, they take baths so when you make a family bathroom there should be a bathtub. Just some advise from "a parent". lol.
My god this comment is so condescending lol. It's also embarrassing for you because they do have kids. They have a daughter named Poppy and a son named Oscar. But please go on with your "advice". Lol
@@jenniboo9441 I didn't know that these designers do have children. I apologize for that. But I do believe in my advise. Small children should be able to be accessed quickly and most small children do take baths, not showers smarty pants.
NOUP. I love this show, but the kids in a different floor is just wrong, the fact that they´re prioritizing a f*cking bathroom over having both kids upstairs is worrying for me. A small kid can die in seconds while you´re upstairs having a bubble bath.

I don't think I would want my littles downstairs and me upstairs for sound and security, but I am paranoid. Such a beautiful family and home.
I thought the same thing. Bad idea.
I thought the same, but the parents suggested it, so the design was executing their idea.

@@b_uppy They did have a budget and they were happy with the outcome. They can always move when Finn is older.
The couple is so enthusiastic about the remodel of their home.
I thought they were unenthusiastic. The guy had his arms folded the whole time.
@@peacedove1182 😂 I miss that, I was going by all the sounds that the husband was making.
Great job! I would have liked to see the entire remodel.
Perfect. Just wish there was time to show us the playroom/baby bedroom.

Paranoia isn't good for you, let it go.
My opinion is similar to other mothers.
Make a parent bedroom downstairs, and a bath and 2 kids room up.
You know you’ve got a good family when they send drinks to the construction workers…every week.
Beautiful vanity, good job. Love the baby room too.
I absolutely LOVE this.
Love the arabesque rail in the before.
For the stairwell i would have filled in, via the livingroom, with a wrought iron art installation that alloed light but kept it safe from the stairs

Someone mentioned that the kitchen was renovated as well in the full video
Lovely but where is the room for the new baby?
That dresser was stunning
the style is very pretty but a bit dark. I would not be able to sleep as a parent if my child would be downstars and I would be upstairs.
Security systems? Phone app cameras on lower floor points?

I am not a fan of wallpaper but Finns wallpaper is amazing
Those stairs are so steep
Only thing I’m not sure about is the shower. He’s pretty tall-is he going to fit with that slanted wall?
There was a tiled bench along the length of the slanted wall in the shower. I WANT THAT! 😂
Where is the office
We didn't see the kitchen, did they redo it?
Yes I seen the full episode 😊

If they had double budget and a bigger lot size, then yes. Otherwise, great compromise.
Do you have any idea how much an addition costs?
Were they wanting office space?
I hate the fireplace and the black and white floor
Why do men use that sing-song voice when showing amazement? Nice renovation.

There is so many things about this house and littles that just scream NO NO NO! I guess they can dress them in helmets and rubber suits...
Shouldn’t he have a black or Brown partner? Not very inclusive if you ask me…..
