- Greetings to all my channel subscribers and visitors !
On the occasion of World Music Day 2021, it is a pleasure to bring to you this recording from my personal archives. The audio and video quality are not superlative, but this recording holds a special place in my heart because it was my first ever television appearence 19 years ago, in 2002.
This was a time when I used to sing Khayal only. The programme was telecast on the popular Bengali channel Akash Bangla for their programme Dhrupadi.
I was accompanied by the brilliant Shree Soumen Sarkar on Tabla and Shree Sanatan Goswami on the Harmonium.

I'm not capable of understanding ragas but I'm very much fond of listening to classical music both vocal and instrumental. I like the alap portion very much. Sounak is my favorite singer from the time when I first listen his Rabindra sangeet with ragas. Expect more ragas from you.

Please keep concentrating on the classical, you have a great foundation to build on. I understand the commercial aspects of music which today one is somewhat compelled to also engage in. But please do not leave your first love, that's where you belong!

Very amazing talent! How old were you at this recording?
Do you have much experience or connection with Kirana school? I became interested in Kirana Ghirana through Pt Pran Nath. He seems to sing much slower than most other Kirana singers I can find.
I’m new to this world of music, but it speaks to my heart and is very interesting- thank you.
