a variation of this deck "more control like" reached me to high diamond and I have over 100 games with it. its super nice and very fun to play the only big problem with it is highlander warrior which I personally have very low win rate with it
I've been playing a control deck that locks down the opponent really well. It never matters cause I get killed from hand. Feels like every class can do it right now.
Had to come back and say it: It's a great deck but that 3xblood spell is best against combo decks which I don't see as much. I've swapped one blood rune for unholly. That allowed me to add Horseman + helya and added maw and paw for extra health. Horseman and helya allows late game against control decks otherwise it sucks. With those changes only combo decks kills me.
What about a copy of Hematurge instead of one of the death strikes? I really hate that card, it has no spell school. Hematurge can give you other things, like headless horseman, which is the entire reason I still play hearthstone in 2024.
Why isn't Carress, Cabaret Star part of the deck? It seems a good fit, although I have trouble with taking anything out for her. So that might be the reason, she is not included? Also, the deck is pretty fun indeed

Something I don’t get is that when people talk about control, it only counts when it’s a spell that clears the board. I used to think it involved trading minions, but apparently minions are only for degenerate mid range and aggro players.
Control is just as the name suggest controlling the board to play your late game threats, you can control the board however you feel like it, but spells are preferred because they are on demand responses, while minions need to be set up, there has been control style decks that were minion centric, primarily warrior and taunt minions, deathstalker rexxar also had a control variant back then with mostly minions and spells here and there.
