I actually once did this in a vacuum I didnt care about with low suction just to see what would happen and it actually pulled a hidden clog through, I washed the filter which was paper yep paper, with laundry soap after so it didnt stink and we used that vacuum perfectly fine for years to come 😳 I let my mom have it when my dad left her.. Her last boyfriend she had before she passed away in the hospital I believe kept it, it was a dirt devil swivel glide and the motor still ran great as I didnt suck up much water lol
@@colemanIStheBEST it was the dirt devil vision swivel glide, which had casters as rear wheels almost giving it that self propel impression when the brush roll pulled it along the carpets, I have not found another for sale in local listings online or anywhere else now, and I am regretting letting it go, especially for a mainstream dyson dc33, the motor/vacuum was by royal if I recall. I also had a maroon one I'd left on a porch to air out years back and someone cut the cord on me, before I knew how to splice em haha, but I didnt suck up much water that it got to the motor in the green one either. This is not my video but I found a video of the vacuum to show you what kind it was. ua-cam.com/video/P8wpKtVESus/v-deo.html
How old was your mom? Sounds like she was still kickin it up until her passing. I know some older people spending their last years lonely and heart broken because their lover passed before them.
Regular vacuums seem to be way better than an industrial. An industrial vacuum, if a little bit of water gets into the engine, it smokes out and gets destroyed and needs a replacement.
It would seem that by attempting to suck up water, you discover why it wasn’t sucking up air, and so you fix it … and then just when it’s working properly and has a new lease of life ahead … you suck water through the motor anyway … is it dry yet? Does it still work…
I continued to test it monthly. It finally failed to turn on after 5.5 months after I made this video. But I am not sure why it failed to turn on. My original suspicion was the motor rusted and locked up, but there was no power draw through the cord. So I just threw it away.
It didn’t die until 7months later from just being left outside unused. And then am not entirely sure it was the motor that died- since it didn’t trip a breaker i think the switch rusted over and didn’t let any electricity through.
That's probably how Wet Dry vacuums work, except i guess they're made to resist rusting and mostly do not use filters? Got a wet-dry one at home for $4000.... Shit's so expensive, but i use it to suck my air con pipes clean of gunk and residual water. Guess i saved on that air con maintenance......
I did give up on killing it, I just left it in the back yard for the kids to play with. about a year after this video I tried the vacuum and plugged it in and it was finally dead. I assume the water rusted the electrical contacts or magnets or bearings and it finally stopped working. But if I looked further i would have bet money that it was the switch that failed and i could have hot wired it to get it running again.
Don't even get a bissell close to water, I'll die. The bissell perforce is on sale at Walmart for 50 bucks and my carpet is really dirty. I put some soapy water with a sprayer and the vacuum cleaner switch will go bad. It's my 3rd bissell perforce in 1 year.

If I had this, I would never do this. I like the video though, it’s funny! I have sucked up water with a vacuum cleaner before, but it was a shop vac.

It's cute how the little dog was curious and watching the vacuum when it turned on
Dogs typically fear vacuums lol. Was probably on the verge of barking at it.

Obviously, the Eureka is a bad a$$ vacuum. Now admit it. You couldn't kill it!

What happens when you sick up water with a vacuum cleaner. It burns the motor out or you could get an electric shock, DAW,!"!! 🙄lol
