Great work Tim showing the process and step by step on these repairs. So many people that are new to the history of Pontiac and not understanding that they were their own car company using their own designs, especially the engine were different from the Chevy line ups.
Thanks! Yeah it’s tricky because there’s a lot of info out there on Chevy but not so much on Pontiac. So if I can’t find anything, I try to cover that. And hopefully I get it right 😅
I did not. I probably should have but my goal was to clean up the pan. I did not want to spend too much on this engine (which is also why I didn't replace the bolts.) I've been buying parts for the '69 400 that will eventually go into the car.

Out of curiosity, did you replace that oil pump while you had the oil pan off? That was something I always thought important to do.

What brand of Harmonic Balancer did you use?
