MUTOH 1324 Printer Might Be Toast...

- What started as what I thought was some bad banding and a dirty machine may be a bad electrical issue for my PrismJet54 (Mutoh ValueJet 1324x). I started with replacing the maintenance station and did not get any better, it was worse. I replace the 4 dampers and that is where the BIG issue happened. I'll work on the printer as I can but it's not looking good, I know everyone like happy ending so stay tuned for the next video to see if I can make it live again!

Thanks for taking the time and providing details and updates.......much more helpful and infornative than other videos! I too have the VJ1324x and currentky having issues with 2 colors not fully printing, magenta and yellow. Changed the cap maint. assembly and still the same issues.....trying to soak it for as many days it may take.....hopefully it unclogs! If you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate them. Did not know SW support not really fully techs......Thanks again!

Hey Don! I appreciate that and glad it helped. I've never done a 2 sided banner on the 1324, don't think it would be difficult and no one ever asked for one.
I have a Mutoh 1204 that needs a new print head, and I started outsourcing all of my digital prints. Outsourcing has worked out so well I don’t have any plans to fix it. I have a couple of Gerber Edge’s, how’s your working out? Good luck man, love your videos.
I have lots of great people I can sub prints out to. They do great work and it is a load off my shoulders not having to worry about it, but for me I prefer to do all my printing in house if I can.
Edge is still alive, I feel like I'm getting it figured out and will try some new foils like the Silver Metal and transparent soon. Thanks for watching and I got a guy if you ever need to get that 1204 printing again!
Have you checked the print head fuse? Its on the carriage board. Its conmen to blow when changing dampers.
Head fuses are not with he regular fuses.
I had the boards sent off and initially the PS and main board is okay. Sending in the rest of the boards to see what the issue is. Thanks for the tip, I saw those tiny fuses but hopefully he finds the issue.
Hi. I was wondering if you ever replaced the printhead on your Mutoh printer and if so where you purchased the printhead? I have a 1324x eco-solvent model and now need a printhead but want to purchase from a good source with a lower cost than buying from Mutoh direct. Any info would be appreciate it.
Never replaced the print head. I got my parts from solventinkjet.com, been good so far.
What were you selling on Amazon?
Wall lettering and vehicle stickers
Get a commercial cnc, co2 laser (thunder) and fiber laser..... $$$$$
If I had the drive the sky is the limit, i just don't want to mess with it anymore. Not sure what the future holds for me in the sign industry but I feel like I'm burned out on it all. 25+ years doing signs and learning the hard way and I just do it to do it now.
