Well that just sucks! What sucks even more is your feeling burned out after all of these years. I get it, but I started with a "mom's Cricut Maker" a few years back and let me tell I feel like you only because I have bought a number of softwares and watched god only knows how many years of worthless UA-cam videos and then I came you Sean and now you are not don't it so much. Sobbing! I have to say thank you for leaving your videos up because you have been the first and only one where I final began to use me cutters. I have learn far more watch your videos than I ever did watching others! Don't stop making videos!!!! LOL I have the Graphtec CE7000-60 24" and a bit more into the apparel side of things, but again, I have learn so much from your videos. I'll be waiting to see what comes and happens next!
I don't blame you at all for not replacing the head. Nothing wrong with outsourcing and not dealing with all the issues that can occur with printers and maintenance. So...what's going to take it's place and space? Laser...perhaps? I'll be waiting for the next vid.
I went through the same issue on my mimaki the last couple of weeks and after doing all the same things you did narrowed it down to the printhead and black is 1/4 dead. I created new profiles to reduce using the K and using the other colors to print black to see if I could stretch the head out a little longer but looks like I'll be getting another head soon. I do a lot of wholesale so outsourcing isn't viable for me but at least you have that as an option.
Sorry to hear that, I know the struggles and the pain when equipment does not work correctly. Wholesale has been okay, but I'm starting to reconsider another printer or getting another head. Problem I'm finding is the types of files I sub out, everything new is a learning curve and it was 100% easier (and cheaper) to keep it all in house like I was used to.
Yup... had a 1304 back in 08, replaced it with a 1324 in around 2016. Then replace the 1324 with Epson S40600 in 2021. Still have some of the boards, etc from the 1324 👍
Annnnd the 1324 boards are about useless, right?? Everyone asks if I WAS to get another printer what would it be... First choice would be a EPSON.... But I'm not... LOL
My mutoh 1204 also had the head nozzle plate thing come loose after 13 years of use. However it didnt short anything out, it just didnt spray any ink out. I replaced the head myself for $1500. been running it for about 5 months now, no issues so far. (also using 3rd party inks). I think you should replace the head yourself. You dont need to buy a expensive OEM head.
I feel like I can replace the head but outsourcing is so much less stressful... Yea it cost a bit more then printing in-house but stocking media, laminate, ink, maintenance etc is a pain so I'm weighing the options. I've been in the sign game for about 25+ years now, and again I feel like I'm burned out and don't care for the hustle, just want to enjoy what I got.....
@@TheSignGuy thats how i used to do it with flexisign production manager. Now i create the design with the total amount of contour cut images in flexi then output to printer. Once printed/laminated i send to cutter with the cut icon at the top of the flexisign page. Not production manager. Selecting cut contour gives you the option to change the registration marks, opos, mutoh graphtec etc.
I just replaced print head ($1985.00) and main board ($1100) .. Mine would not initalize and error code 085 head hot.. It now works the main board was the problem.. My printer was 2 years old.
That is how those printers came. There are 2 lines that run from the bottom of the maintenance station down into the waste tank. The waste tank has a sensor and tells the control panel when it's full or needs emptied. You should be able to find one pretty easy, just search Valuejet Waste Bottle

Solvent inkjet a mutoh parts dealer has them for just under 2k.ive used them for all my parts and other printers heads. Solid guys.
That's where I got the maintenance station and other parts from. I agree great to work with.

I would like to see Mutoh step up and help out and get it running. I don’t think I will ever look at there equipment after seeing your videos.
That would be nice but they don't care about me. Printers go down everyday and it is what it is, I'm okay with that. Thanks for watching me ramble!

With the cutter are you adding registration marks in flexisign before sending to the gerber edge?
No, I'm selecting them in PM. What am I doing wrong...

Glad I got what I got out of mine, I have no complaints. Was yours out of pocket or under warranty?
How can i gat a waste ink tank and how you did it

Damn $3500 for the head thats a killer its sure don't make the maths to fix it .
Can ebay a new one for 1600 bucks but yea.. hard to justify
I looked but kinda feel like i would get what I paid for.....
Ebay is strict on the OEM and NEW labels(easy to claim refund) may find a seller selling a spare part for a printer they don't have anymore.
