I swear she doesn’t get the vocal credit she deserves. Almost the entire song is sung in her lower register. I don’t think people understand how difficult it is to stay down there for that long. It requires lot of breath support and control.

The whole album is a vibe. Aaliyah is one of the few artist that gives you an album with the same production value of a movie. I mean, Prince did with “Purple Rain”. And Aaliyah did the same with her work. Everything flows and you get a unique song with each track. Her album never grows stale.

It’s in fact Aaliyah’s mother who didn’t want her music released she’s taken it hard after her passing it’s taken a toll on her and her brother the most. Aaliyah’s uncle had to relaunch his record label under empire since he didn’t have distribution it can take a lot of time behind the scenes plus her uncle Barry is much older now he’s in his 70’s now. It just took a long time but it’s out now!!!! And for Jojo it wasn’t fair what happened to her career either it took a dip for sure!!!
