Durham looks so beautiful I can't wait to start as a fresher in a few weeks!!! I am kinda sad tho because of corona, matriculation will be online this year and not in the cathedral :(
Ah yes it's honestly such a gorgeous city, you'll really love it! I didn't know that it was going to be online this year but obviously that makes sense given the Corona situation. You'll definitely get to go to the Cathedral for other occasions in the not too distant future though :)

Van Mildert, St Aiden's, St Mary's and Trev's college are all right next to the business school which you could have some lessons in, but literally all the colleges are going to be equidistant to some of your lessons as you'll have them in all different places, soooo I'd suggest picking the one you feel like you'd enjoy living in the most and which has a vibe you really like :) Hope this helps!
im quarantining in durham right now! brooks house for me - go cuth's :) the campus is a lot bigger than i imagined. can you give me a full tour when i'm done quarantine? lol
Ah Cuth's is a lovely college! Yeah things are well spaced out in Durham but not so far that it's too much of a trek to get from A to B. hehe absolutely! 1 guided tour coming right up ;)
Hi 🙂 I want to understand the part where it says some of the colleges are not gowned, are they not gowned for graduation ceremonies or how does that work? I fell inlove with Durham. Thanks
Hi! :) So all it means is some colleges get to wear a cloak / cape over their suits / dresses for college events, which is traditionally what all the colleges would have done. Today some don't as it makes the college more modern / less formalised, and some people prefer that. :) If you'll wear one or not depends on which college you choose, as everyone at the same college will do the same thing as it's specific to that college's ethos and vibe. Hope this helps to explain it! :)
Even though i'm from the local area this was still really interesting to watch! i'm starting at hatfield in a couple of weeks and i'm so excited, only thing that's putting me off is hatfield's reputation for being really snobby and stuck up. i'm always hearing negative things about it and i'm sick ahaha. do you think this is just a stereotype or do you think it's largely true? thanks for the video! :) x
Don’t worry there are some nice people in Hatfield I wouldn’t worry about it I’ve met loads of locals in Hatfield and they all said its about who you surround yourself with , it’s quite a big college so you’ll find your people but if not just make friends on your course xxx

Hatfield is known for getting a lot of people who attended boarding school joining it but that doesn't mean you'll find it snobby etc. Honestly there will be so many lovely people and you'll no doubt make loads of friends at college. Everyone will be in the same boat and wanting to make connections so it won't matter what their school background was :) xx

Hey! That sounds great! So the only fully self-catered college is Josephine Butler and half of St. Cuthbert's Society is also self-catered. Cuth's has a big bar that's on the Bailey opposite the cathedral :) Both are nice colleges. If you want it to be that everybody at the college is self-catered though, Josephine Butler is the one :) Hope this helps! x

Yes it is. It's one of the best you can attend in the country :) Plus the city is such a pretty and historical place to live!
