I obviously haven’t properly experienced josephine butler however I’ve heard good things, but I’m a south stan all the way. they’re both similar distances away and are self catered which I’d say are the things colleges differ on the most. at the end of the day your college experience is what you make of it and you’ll be happy at either I’m sure :)
it's grown on me a lot, at the start it felt like it had less of a college community but it is there you just have to put yourself out there a little more. accommodation is great, college bar and drinks are a vibe and the porters and south team are the loveliest people :)
do you think it's worth the extra money for the ensuite rooms? I start at South for sociology in September and I am still trying to decide between an ensuite or shared bathroom.
i’m starting at south in sep too! accommodation is confusing me - where do i find how to choose between the two types (or do they send that alongside your accommodation offer in late aug-sep)
@@melissax4939 I think after results day you get a form to fill in about if you have any preferences for room types or any needs that you have, like if you need an accessible room
@@user-tw6jy5gs8r the en suite is definitely a luxury but not a necessity! I'm in a townhouse bedroom now and it's not that much of a bother having to share
Heyy there. My younger brother just got into durham oshowa. He's just 21 years old I'm very much worried about him. He's in business finance. January 23 batch. I hope everything gonna be fine. I'm surely gonna tell him about you and your channel. Maybe he'll found you there. Anyways he's also a professional photographer maybe very useful for you.
hey x! just wondering if we're allowed to bring any additional furniture (like a cupboard/ chest of drawers) into the room with us? and do we have to vacate these rooms during any holidays?
yeah, my cupboard and bookshelf are from ikea and they’ve never been called up on any room check. you only have to leave the room over summer and just let accommodation know if you’re gonna use your room in any other holidays :) x
I just got accepted to Durham to start in September LOL so surreal. This was really informative 🥰 thank youuu for posting
congrats!!
me too
Can't wait for more vlogs , Im so exited to study sociology at Durham in September !!
exciting!!! which college have you picked?
@@elizeyt thinking of Josephine butler's but I'm planning to live in my own place rather than accommodation
oh wow, your room is so gorgeous! I'm a fresher at St Aidans this yr, only a few mins away, and my room does not compare lol!
south and john snow have lovely accom but less of the ‘durham uni’ feel, I get the impression that aidans maybe has more of a college spirit?
I will be studying in durham sociology too, south is my provisional allocation choice right now. Can't wait to join this big family :)
soon september :D
hope you have the best time :)
Yayyyy thanks for this. You don’t have to if you don’t want to but can we please see the bathroom?
I’ll whiz round it in a vlog at some point :)
Wow! Such a cute cluttered look
I tried to go for the dust ridden chić look 🥰 hoovers are excellent and kitchen is always clean!
@@elizeyt oh wonderful! I heard that a lot of kitchens are dirty and hoovers are broken :( but it’s so good yours aren’t!!
How would you rate south college overall? (I'm trying to pick between it and Josephine Butler)
jo bo: more community feel, more tradition, slightly cheaper
south: nicer accom, good facilities, my personal fave

Thank you, that's really helpful!
Hi! Did the boxes come with the wardrobe or did you buy those?? Moving in next week and don’t know if to buy some
they didn’t but I got them from dunelm- definitely worth something like that to fill that space!
@@elizeyt do you know what size they are pls? Wanting to buy some before I go but don't know which will fit
Omg pls do a sketchbook tour!!💕
I will eventually it’s just quite bare at the moment lmao

hey! starting at durham this September and I was wondering if the closet and storage is the same for all colleges? (I got van milder)
@@arsenicfortea no each college has slightly different rooms, I’d recommend looking up one specific to van mildert :)
