Wait, why does this car earn lower points for pedestrain safety than Isuzu D-MAX, a tall pickup truck with auto brake that won't stop the truck from hitting darting child dummy and cyclist?
That center airbag look like they stay inflated for some time. I worry that if you get T-boned, since the doors will probably jam in a significant impact, that you may be confined in your seat until the airbag deflates, unable to get out the door (because it's obviously jammed), or get to the passenger door (because the inflated center airbag is in your way). How long does the front center airbag stay inflated? Not to mention, if you get hit on the passenger side, you'll go the opposite way of this side impact crash test. Even in this test, with the driver dummy moving away from the front center airbag due to the impact force, the center airbag still hits the side of his head. What happens if the driver dummy is moving TOWARD the center airbag, as they would in an impact from the passenger side? It looks like the center airbag would throw the driver back the other way and potentially cause additional injury, especially to a smaller driver! This center airbag looks to be poorly designed. Other center airbags are designed flatter (more like a curtain and less like two balloons) and deflate more quickly. The center airbag looks like it could be a good idea if implemented right. Look at Volvo's center airbag for instance, as seen on the Polestar 2. I think I'd rather deal with another company's front center airbag than this one. March 3, 2021 3:15 am

I wonder. The Skoda Octavia 2015 has better lane protection than many newer ones. The lane guard keeps a little less than 30 cm in lateral movement.
