An interesting location that in the right light/conditions could produce some memorable images. Definitely one to return to 📷👍👍
Absolutely it needs the light
Hi Paul, old stuff like the boat is very thought provoking, you wonder where that boat has been, who sailed on her, what happened to her etc, some great photos mate and a nice little location.
My thoughts exactly i cant help think
Greetings Paul
The shipwreck you photographed is named 'The Vita Nova' she used to be a Belgian Fishing Trawler. After her service she became a home and now as you can see a former shadow of herself. A big favourite for many photographers.
The Tower is a leading light, named 'The Needle' for its unique shape. This is a wonderful little island.
You should visit Piel, take a seal trip. Visit Walney Island, two nature reserves. So much history, look out for the Aurora Borealis tonight. 😉
I am not there now haha. Itbwas a great trip
Hooe Lake Plymouth and Appledore both have wrecks worth visiting. There are 2 decent ones in Brittany France, Caramet Sur Mer and a warship graveyard at Landn
vennec. Good luck, and keep up the great content.
wow thanks ill have a look on the map.. nice one
Where is the Appledore Wreck?
@@paulcomptonpdphotographymaps.app.goo.gl/LKTLS5QBQFP43dQVA
nice one
The Appledore boats are worth a visit. Just down the road for me, but only been there once recently. Need to get back. Need to get there when the tide is coming in / going out on one of the higher tides. Comes in quick though!
ill have a look see where they are. thanks
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Give me a shout if you come down as can meet up.
i sure will
Always worth exploring, even if you don't get anything much. The next time the weather and light can be totally different ... looked bloody cold though.
thats very true
I've never been to Roa island, but Walney and Peel Island are worth exploring.
There are also some nice abandoned boats at Askam Beach including a large Victorian colliery barge(?)
Roanhead Beach is very close as well and has superb sand dunes, quite unusual in this part of the Lake District. Great views of the Coniston fells and Black combe across the Duddon estuary.
its defo an area i like to look around more.. thanks for info all noted
Enjoyed the video, spent many happy hours sailing and windsurfing at Roa Island and more recently taking images. If you get the weather its a fantsatic area, On Walney Island there are some good park ups, Also if you walk through the wildlife sanctuary to the end there is a hard to photograph Lighthouse as well as old wooden pier/jetty ruins that can be good. Shooting from Walney across Roa Island at dawn can get some great layered images. A good Sunset Location in the area is Askam, this faces west, but has more channels, wrecks and the Lakeland fells in the background.
i am heading that way in next video
The shipwrek boat was much larger 3-4 years ago, I believe it is being cut up for scarp or something as it could not have got that bad over the the short amount of time. The small Island of Piel and the caslte has some great history, it has a king!!!!
its worth a visit
Great images a interesting location . I think you might have already shot this one Corpach shipwreck near Fort William scotland . Was lucky to have taken a few shots of it Febuary while i was staying nearby . The taxi driver who took me told me the story of it. Which I thought was quite sad .
An interesting location Paul.
I must admit i like shipwrecks too, but i haven't taken many.
Great image's as usual mate.
Look forward to the next one.
I have yes i shot it at night as well
thanks mate
ta
Yes that boat was a full bout a few years ago. It must be being cut up for scrap. The life boat was still there then as well.
would of liked to see it
U can see the big one Blackpool please beach at night from there
I bet nice one
