Nice , it’s kind of like a slimmed down smoke jumper . They work very well for either midge or mayfly pattern depending on color . I like them on # 22 to # 16
Great video as ever Davie, I'll have to give these minimalistic flies a go. I've just moved to the north of Iceland and will be fishing mainly lakes up here for Char and Trout. Any chance you could make a video of a few well known Icelandic flies that would be used in lakes? I'm sure you'll have some knowledge. I will figure it out what is popular the longer I am here, but it's always good to see how you tie things up! Cheers, Steve
Nice one Davie caught alot of fish on all your patterns and this one looks as you say a simple tie, would it work also on a Loch for brown trout Davie, all the best Peter.
Hi Davie, very nice pattern, big fan of leaving a good portion of the hook exposed. What other colour combinations would you suggest or have used in the past. Thanks, Paul.
Morning Paul, Mostly natural colours, and dyed browns, olives and yellows.. Adding or using a little bit of fluorescence either in a thread or blending it into the material or just adding a tiny bit of fluorescent dye to lift it.. All the very best Davie
Hi Blondie Byrne, Deer hair would be a good sub for CDC and I have tied flies doing this and they do work just as well..I'm glad you enjoyed the video.. All the very best Davie....
Hi Davie, have been trying to find the Uni neon floss x 2 but can't find it anywhere, could you suggest where I can get some or perhaps an alternative for small double salmon flies.
Hi Marek Bo, I've fished them in smaller sizes for grayling but this one was tied for rainbows and brown trout, you can tye them in many colours and I would say the hare's lug version is best for the river.. All the very best Davie..
So simple yet so great.
Really great job as always Dave.
Great looking fly Davie. Nicely tied and you make it look easy as usual. Thanks for sharing.
That is a really sweet tie. I can see it working for the tiny midges and pseudo mayflies I usually tie on much smaller hooks. Very nice.
Love the simplicity. Excellent as usual Davie

Enjoyed that! Thank you Davie! Tight lines!
@Amari Trey you are right, this is a fly tying channel and nobody here cares about your lack of respect for your friends (?) privacy.
Many thanks Davie and on my door step.

Very good, enjoyed that 👍🏻 I suppose you could substitute the CDC with deer hair?
Hi Blondie Byrne,
Deer hair would be a good sub for CDC and I have tied flies doing this and they do work just as well..I'm glad you enjoyed the video..
All the very best Davie....
I like that You only uses 2 instead of 4 feathers, so the waste of materials is low.
Great looking fly mate. How small would you go? Thanks for sharing with us all . Best Regards, Ken
Hi Ken,
I've tied them down to a size 24 which I use for trout and grayling, I'm glad you liked the fly....
All the very best davie..

Nice and simple fly! Is it intended for grayling?
Hi Marek Bo,
I've fished them in smaller sizes for grayling but this one was tied for rainbows and brown trout, you can tye them in many colours and I would say the hare's lug version is best for the river..
All the very best Davie..
Less is more, eh? Brilliant. As per.
Davie,
Is the red tag the wing buds?
Mike
Hi Mike,
It will give the impression of the wing buds and as well a highlight/ aiming point for the fish to see..
All the very best Davie...
