I love the big shows. I go to Hershey Show every year because the manufacturers are there to talk to you. The Tampa Show is on my list for next year. I recently attended a smaller show in NJ and it was pretty obvious there are a lot of companies going for quantity not quality. Great bunch of videos. Happy travels, Lou
Last year there were >70k people who came to the show in Tampa. Curious to see the number for this year. I went FT in September and used to live in Tampa so have been going for a while. Although it was a little cold a few days the weather was really nice. I was there Sat and Sun. I get there early and leave by lunchtime as that is when it starts to get really crowded. Key to seeing things is get there early! Glad Tom is feeling a bit better. I get the flu shot every year and albeit not perfect I haven't caught the flu since I started getting it.
Glade to see your doing better Tom. Kate did a beautiful job on the show and highlights. Some absolutely amazing units. And a spot light for my bosses son lol. Look forward to some new adventures.
So glad you are feeling better sir! Great information in case we ever head down that way. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and have a great week! - Shane
Good to see you are up and around now Tom. Cait did a great job with the videos and interviews! Sorry we missed you two and maybe next time we will hook up. Our overall thoughts on the show were: "where are all these people going to camp"? I also thought the fit and finish of the rigs were taking a back step, especially in the fifth wheel category and we looked at the higher end in those lines. We are planning on going full time again and still making a decision on if we want to go fifth wheel or class A again. Unfortunately, we missed seeing the New Horizon line there also. Glad we went, but would certainly come earlier for less traffic! lol
I’m so glad Tom is feeling better! I really enjoyed all the videos from the RV Show! I’m very surprised to hear Tiffin didn’t want to talk to you guys. What type of questions were you going to ask to be a camera for all to see and hear? Do you think Thor MotorCoach is putting out better coaches these day? Thanks for all your work on this RV Show for us to enjoy.
We were just asking them to give us their elevator pitch for their company just like we did everyone else. They basically told us there were too many potential customers to take time to talk to us (Although in the time it took them to tell us that they could have done a piece). We tried to talk to everyone there...
well i went from NJ to show to specifically see Arctic Fox truck campers. They were listed on online map and program but were a no show very disappointed
i did go there every year but i found out that most of the RVs where just the same thing over and over so the only way to see any thing new is to go 1 time ever 3 to 4 years
Glad to hear Tom is better. But ya but. You know people can carry this virus and be good. I saw so many young people and old people in videos. You can be spreading this virus with out even knowing. My message. If you are in close proximity to or taking care of someone with this flu just stay home. Not worth getting someone sick or worse.
Hey Tom! Good to see you kicking. What's y'all's take on Alde RV heater being an option for USA RVs? I don't like our old inefficient kind. Same with Truma water heaters. I hope these become standard here! Oh, you're saying that right now! I type as I watch... Hey Tiffin boys!! What's wrong with y'all boys?! That's not representing Alabama very well. Don't start acting snooty.
Well you two are excited about all the new and complex systems they're bring out compared to the tried and trued systems that are in use today. Remember one thing about that is you use to be able to do your own work on most of the older vehicles but not anymore now you need a $10,000 machine to tell you you need to empty the ashtray. If they make the RV's systems too complex it will next to impossible for owners to fix them in the field while they camp because repairs will come up. One example is the newer instant hot water systems, as a plumbing contractor I know you have to descale them on a regular bases like a coffee machine or bad things will happen. Just be cautious about new products that are shiny and new with their complexity are they better. As in the water heater example do I really care whether the water is heated by tank or instant as long as I have a hot shower I don't really care. Something to think about. Your show covering was nice my wife and I enjoyed it.
Agree there are pros and cons. I hate the weight of our 12Gal hot water heater tho, just wasted space. As an engineer I looked over the truma machine carefully and would own it. They have a great de-scaling sysytem built in. I dont like the others very much. Other systems can have pros and cons too, but overall I think some of these systems will still be more reliable than the basic stuff we had before. As a huge DIY person I agree that maintainability is key, but I think we can still achieve that with better things than what has been used before. We refuse to ever accept "thats the way its always been done" as an answer. There is always a better way.
Glad to see some updates on Rv systems, finally.! Refers, water heaters, and furnaces. Been the same for like 30 to 40 years.!! About time.!

Looks like official number from the Florida RV Trade Association is over 73,000!
Glad to see Tom doing better! Cait did a great job with the videos!

Thanks for taking us to the super show from afar! I hope we get to cross paths in 2018 ✌😍
Us too! Thanks guys!
Glad to see you well Tom.
You did s nice job filming things on your own. But never saw the Newell you were going to show or is it still coming on your clip ?
Great job as always!
Where did you say you were staying now, "Nestle Island"? It sounded great.

We were looking for them too!

That makes me sad that Tiffin motorhomes didn’t want to talk with you. . . :’(.
Us too.

The ALDE and Trumas were amazing. So glad to see them being implemented on so many rigs! I think there will be lots more to come from them too!
