Losing it is great HipHop and The Hunger shows of his Rap also Genesis great Rap. The Big Push I Sho the Sheriff/Road to Zion/ Hip hop is amazing also he is truly the first artist I have seen that can step in any genre and master it what a talent.

I think this one is so amazing because it is a one-take. Yes, they had multiple cameras filming and Yes, he shot 3 or 4 separate one-takes of this and chose which one he liked best. But this was one continuous performance from start to finish. To switch character while playing the guitar live is amazing.

Audio is all continuous and all live but the video is not a one-take as such since it has cuts and the close-ups were filmed separately. Samuel Perry-Falvey who filmed it, has clarified that in the comments of Jonathan Hiller's reaction to the song.
Here is some additional information on Ren's story gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Erin Gill is a British musician/independent artist; born in Wales on March 29, 1990; he eventually moved to Brighton. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue; subsequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved.
Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure.
Ren is currently in Calgary, Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023) undergoing IV and other interventions five days a week. Ren recently underwent wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery. In addition, his Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Now, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition.

Here is the link to Ren’s GoFundMe page to raise money for his current treatment. Ren has exceeded his initial goal. However, his goal was very conservative and did not reflect the added costs of unforeseen surgical procedures, and treatment for additional health issues such as MCAD

Before he even did his monologue you said the eternal battle is inside of you and you have to learn to mesh it together. I was impressed because that’s almost exactly what he says. Hi Ren just put him on the map worldwide. He’s been around a long time so if you’re going to dig in you can go go back to his first album freckled angels in 2016, his busking in the UK with Sam Tompkins and The Big Push, his collabs, and the solo stuff he’s done in the past couple years. Does every genre expertly, plays multiple instruments, writes and produces his own tracks. He’s pretty special.

Ren suffered for years ,disabled with pain,fatigue ,brain fog, blurred vision and foid allergies. Had to give up the contract he had with Sony when he was bedridden. Misdiagnosed for 7 years and treated fir ME and psychological issues, finally got the lyme disease diagnosis but by then his immune system was ruined and brain, organs and joints damaged. He got 2 stem cell transplants in 2016 and slowly gained strength, but still have numerous symptoms. He can only eat about 5 foods and drinks water and green tea. He us in Canada moor at least 6 months getting 5 day a week treatments to try to heal the damage

I would do Sick Boi and the Tales of Jenny and Screech. I like the acoustic version of Genesis and Lising it for Rap, but there is no bad song.
You nailed quite early on. And I've seen a lot of reactions and I'm not sure of anyone talking so soon about the coming together of your different personalities. For me that is definitely what Ren is talking about. A lot of people get stuck on how the negative side keeps you down, and I suppose Ren has felt that way (Besides he truly has suffered from psychosis and hearing that voice for real in his head). But I think that negative side when properly managed keeps you grounded and self aware. And I like Ren says, over the years he learnt to dance with it. He's not Really religious but he has said he loves the analogies and the stories, and there's definitely a reason we humans have told those stories for thousands of years. But like Ren says at the end, this isn't about defeating Satan, is about putting the inner demon in it's place and working with him, because he's a part of us.
But however people want to interpret it, Ren actually welcome's it, and he likes to hear it when people have different takes on his music that are different from what he was thinking when he wrote them.

As I am sure many others have said. He became I’ll, was misdiagnosed and medicated to all hell and back, eventually causing psychosis. After endless battles to find out what was wrong, he was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease after many years. This had caused organ damage and brain damage. He has undergone numerous treatments. The video for Hi REN was live, one take, with multiple cameras. They got the take they wanted after the third one I believe. That is a VERY brief whistlestop. If you want variety……. Try Losing it or, What you want. That last one is hilarious! 😊😂
He has Lyme disease but was misdiagnosed, so they were treating him for what they thought was mental illness. He is now on the road to recovery.

Very nice reaction. I have subscribed. Ren has been recently releasing hip hop/rap songs which will be part of a 16 song hip hop album he will be dropping this year. Songs part of the "Sick Boi" album already released are: Hi Ren, Sick Boi, Illest of Our Time, Animal Flow and Su*cide. People like to recommend after "Hi Ren" "Sick Boi" or the trilogy "The Tale Of Jenny & Screech (official Music Video)"(the 13mn video has the 3 tales in the correct order). The tales show Ren's amazing storytelling skills. Ren's street performances with his band "The Big Push" or with his friend Sam Tompkins are also quite popular. These can be found in Ren's channel under "Busking".

Animal Flow, TheHunger, Losing It, Illest of Our Time Are probably the best of him spitting bars to kick off with. SicBoi, Genesis, Suicide, For Joe, busking with his band The Big Push: I Shot The Sherif, Road To Zion & Hip Hop (w/Ren in red suspenders) all more that will knock your socks off. Sic Boi kinda goes with Hi Ren. And the trilogy The tale of Jenny & Screech, (FULL). Is HIGHLY ❤ recommended to listen to since he does reference it in other songs. Great reaction, Thanks!

Next up should be "Power". It's Ren rapping his ass off and you get a bit of his back story in the lyrics and it's a positive song the whole way through.
Most of Ren's song's end with some sort of positive message, not all so don't yell at me when you react to "The Tales of Jenny and screech and Violet's Tale" haha but he usually tries to bring light after the darkness.
Another awesome reaction brother and I understood everything you were trying to say about fighting against that internal voice we all have that more times than not is our worst enemy. And alot of it has to do with something that's been hardwired into our brains since the caveman days and it's called "Negative Bias" Back in the caveman days we needed it to keep us alive as we were discovering life as humans. It kept us in the cave instead of going out to hunt so we could live another day. When we heard scary sounds outside like lions roaring instead of going to pet the giant kitty cats and become food like our friend Carl did a few days before, that Negative Bias gave us worry, fear and anxiety that kept us alive. Nowadays we don't really need it to save us from lions and poisonous plants. What it does is it makes us focus on the bad because it takes more of our brain power to process negative memories, thoughts, and traumatic experiences and we remember them in greater detail than we do positive ones.
That's why most people are glued to watching cable news like CNN because they understand we have this trait so when we wonder "Why is the news always so negative? There's never any good news" We now know why. They're playing on our Negative Bias and constantly shoving bad news in our faces 24/7. And there's people who can't stop watching. They watch no other TV, just constant negative garbage and they're constantly negative.
It also happens to UA-camrs and even me on Instagram or Facebook. There can be 1,000 positive comments on a video, picture or post, but it's the ONE negative comment that we'll focus on and obsess over. It'll make us angry and pissed off when we should be focusing on the positive comments.

Others have already talked about his health, so I will only add that before releasing Hi Ren, he posted a video from when he was at his worst. It's quite hard to watch but between that and the description that comes with it, you get a better idea.
As for recommendations, Sick boi is part 2 to Hi Ren. But whatever you choose its all fire. ❤✌

When you hear more of Ren's songs, be aware of references to other singers or styles, but also be aware of references to his own videos.

So this turned into a good reaction...you caught onto Ren's premise pretty quickly, the idea of integration of all parts rather than trying to deny one side or the other.
Ren is very happy to share his music with reactors and he knows it helps, not just him, but all those doing the reaction. If hip hop is your jam, listen to "The Hunger", "Genius" the duet with Sam Tomkins and Ren doing "Blind Eyed" at MC, LIVE. Then the duets he did with Chinchilla. There are at least 2. Also amazing.
Ren is therapy for so many from one song he helps so many people open up in ways therapists struggle to do in person.
First time i watched Hi Ren i had a panic attack but thought i needed to watch it again so i watched someone reacting to it
that was the best thing i could do i have watched many times since. One thing i think about this song is it needs to be seen
by every one even in schools after a certain age, because how many children kill themselves because of the negativity
towards them from nasty comments and bullying to them believing what is said. I went through hell, bullied all through
school to the point i attempted suicide twice, and to many issues in my life since then I am a recovering alcoholic 11 years
clean I suffer PTSD and other health issues so the majority of bad days over good is high, if this bullying had been dealt
with i may have had a reasonable life not the existence i have to deal with now

I had to stop after a few mins - sorry but too many interruptions . Yeah I know it’s a reaction video but you stopped it so many times I am not sure you actually got to see much yourself .
