Ren is recovering from having Lyme Disease for over 10 years (was undiagnosed), currently in Canada having treatment. Hence the poison in my veins, which is how Lyme Disease spreads throughout the body.

Edit : I wrote the above when I was near the start of your reaction, and now towards the end I thought I had to add this afterthought. It made me smile that you had initially asked about the location, then later on during your mention of Capitalism, you kept highlighting the company 'Black Rock'. The poison is most likely referencing his misdiagnosis for years and subsequently given all these pills for illnesses he didn't have. He actually finally got correctly diagnosed with Lyme's Disease and is now getting really heavy treatment in Canada. Have you reacted to Power or Genesis yet?
Been waiting for you to find more Ren. 😊. He’s always surprisingly good at all genres. FYI - his lyrics are almost always in the comments. The boy has a pen. He fit alot of words into a very short song :). He has a few songs about money and culture and politics - watch money game 1 and 2 and crucify your culture. For fun edm rap - listen to losing it. Other great hip hop - illest of our time and animal flow. And don’t forget the bestie boy homage - What You Want!

Great reaction mate, this is why we love Ren, because he can make an elite level rap song, with all the flow switches.
But then he can hit you with something like Chalk Outlines (live) which is his guitar, singing and song writing prowess, the guy is just special, there aren't many others who can do what he does.
I recommend Chalk Outlines (live) but if you want to stick to his rap songs, I understand, really enjoy your reactions.

I believe this was filmed in an overflow channel in Brighton, to channel floodwaters to the sea in the wintertime. The rest of the time, it's an unofficial hangout spot, playground, camp for travelers, etc.

I’m a couple of months late to your The Hunger reaction but immensely enjoyed seeing how much it lit you up, and I also had the same reaction when I heard the Leonard Cohen reference, him being my all-time favourite singer-songwriter/poet. It made me appreciate Ren even more than I did already - his music taste, like his own music, isn’t confined to one genre, just to quality. Also happy to see you spreading the LC love!

Ren has said he's actually not anti-capitalist, but is actually anti-greed, so you nailed it.
Ren is incredible. He directed this and did it as a one-take. Also made the beat and did the beatboxing. Easily my favorite artist. He has so damn many good songs.
That said, don't expect anything consistent with Ren. He switches genres and styles as often as he switches up his flows. So, as much as you loved this one, they're not all even remotely like this. He does have a lot of great rap songs, though.
Also, he recently got dissed on a track a few days ago by some dude going by the handle King Dotta, so Ren should be responding in the next few days, hopefully.
Everytime that snare comes in I feel like going Godzilla on a skyscrapper. Also, I love all the flow changes, especially since he mentions right from the get go that he created a Frankenstein Monster (Frankenstein Monster being the song)

I would think Ren's refereeing to all the medication he was given after he was misdiagnosed with ME. chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). When in fact he had Lyme Disease. If he he had been diagnosed properly, Lyme can be cured within a month with antibiotics. Instead the side effects off the medication he didn't need has caused serious side effects, which Ren has highlighted on many occasions. "Sick Boi" is what he went through in that 10yrs

Capitalism has a definition, it's not just an opinion thing. I mean, it isn't small business but not Amazon. Definitions may differ in wording, but they'll all boil down to: an economic system based on for-profit, privately-owned means of production. I guarantee Ren, and all the anti-capitalist kids know the definition, and mean it when they say ANTI. I think you and I grew up with the remnants of cold-war era prejudice. Millennials haven't been so indoctrinated.
