Pastor Vlad Savchuk, it seems as you are channeling the mysterious Holy Spirit.
      TRULY Amazing!
Even as Christians start a prayer: Father Son is 1 then 2, followed by 3 & 4, For the holy ghost.

If someone thinks he could lose his salvation, then he should not lose it. But If someone thinks he cannot lose his salvation, then he should live it.
Pastor Vlad, I think both are extreme views and could not be perfectly consistent with God’s word. No one can be absolutely deterministic nor absolutely free. So I would rather walk in the middle of the road to avoid both ditch on the left and on the right, and treat God’s sovereignty and man’s free will as both wheels working for each other to bring us to our destination. 😊

I am not completely a calvinist, but I will say that it is not so much that God chooses who goes to Hell, but that God chooses who goes to Heaven. Everyone because of our sinful nature was going to hell, but God elected from humanity those who He has chosen to go to Heaven. So it is more like God chooses who goes to Heaven, than God chooses who goes to Hell because we were all going to go to hell, but now a few of us aren't
We evangelize because we do not know who the chosen are, we evangelize to the lost and let Holy Spirit touch the hearts of those who He chooses.
God doesn't commit evil, the devil does, but God lets it happen. The Book of Job is a perfect example and a perfect look into how evil deeds are allowed to take place. The devil gets approval from God over every evil he commits because God is sovereign and nothing happens without God's approval. also Isaiah 45:7 in the KJV states that God creates evil, " I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."
Evil is not a part of God's nature. God does not perform evil, He simply allows it. The devil getting permission from God shows you that the devil cannot do whatever he wants, he is subjected to God like everyone else.
I am not a full on calvinist so I do believe that there is free will, but that God is sovereign. God chooses the elect, but the elect can freely choose to stay saved or not. Man freely chooses to commit evil, but God could stop them from committing the act but instead He lets it happen. The Bible does not contradict itself, the truth lies in the middle of both Calvinism and Arminianism. In the Bible we see people have free will, and we also see God's will every now and then override people's free will. The people of Israel freely choose to serve other idols, but God decided to fight for them and draw them to Him.
You are right Jesus died for the whole world meaning His sacrifice on the cross is enough to save all of humanity, but only a few will be saved because only a few are chosen. Mathew 22;14, "For many are called, but few are chosen."

Why do people assume if you're not Calvinist you're Arminian? I'm neither. I'm a Christian, a follower of Christ. I see positives and negatives on both sides so i look to the Bible for guidance and trust Jesus instead of man.

I agree, I don’t understand why you need to pick a side. These are 2 men’s opinions… it blows my mind how people can leave the church because they don’t agree on one side… it’s caused so much division I don’t understand it. But when he said Calvinist’s are rude he’s right. Some of them are puffed up when they claim they are one of Gods elect… I don’t think that is Christ like at all. But I agree with 80% of their views…

Also there are other forms of Soteriology than these two. Lutheranism would claim to have Soteriology that differs from both of these. Plus, classic Augustinianism is different then modern Calvinism. There's a debate as to whether classic Calvinism and Augustinianism we're just the same.

With love as a sister in Christ it's because of biblical confusion. We all should be iron sharpening iron and continue to research every jot and tittle of the Word. It matters when witnessing to others, we want to share the truth not a mystery. For me, please I speak in love, personally I need clarity, understanding and seeking wisdom. I'm not a Calvinist. I don't want to witness to people saying, "God wants everyone to be saved" but then tell them they may already be pre-damned. Seems to go against scripture and the Almighty. Im overjoyed you're right in Christ. God tells us to question and seek wisdom 🕊️🙏

I can only speak from experience. When I first decided to walk down the aisle of a small Christian non-denominational church and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior I was completely ignorant when it came to the Bible or salvation. I had come from a dirty background of alcohol, drugs, nightclubs, and one night stands. My faith at the time stood firm on science which up until that moment had been led by deep study into physics emphasizing on general relativity and quantum mechanics. I understood these concepts very well, but I also realized science couldn’t save my soul so that’s when I turned to the Word of God.
I had been raised a Catholic, by tradition not choice, but I never found interest in religious dogma. To me their ritualistic approach to matters of faith were dull and boring, I was more interested in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
After having received Jesus in Oct of 91, I was told by the pastor that I was now saved and on my way to Heaven; really? That’s it? I didn’t feel any different, my thoughts, motives, and attitude remained the same. I decided that I wasn’t going to just take this pastor’s word, I was going to do my homework. I had to, my soul and my eternal future depended on it and I was a person that needed certainty!
I decided to purchase the King James Bible on CD and listen to it on all those wasted hours driving back and forth to work in rush hour traffic. Travel time to work was an hour, an hour lunch which I spent in my car eating a sandwich out of a small cooler, and the hour drive back home. That was 3 hours of Word a day 5 times per week. That’s a lot of Word! This went on for little over 3 years where not only did I have scores and scores of scriptures memorized, but also entire CHAPTERS memorized verbatim word for word. I could tell you what is in the Bible and what isn’t. I had a lot of Word in my head, not in my heart.
This would change one Saturday morning March 25,1995. I was alone in my car at the beach listening to integrity Hosana Worship music, reading God’s Word, and loving Him with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength. I remember reading in Matthew chapter 5 to “love your enemies”, this was something I could never see myself doing! How can you love someone that’s causing you harm? I don’t understand this kind of love! I looked up to the sky and let my imagination, which by now was overflowing with love, run wild as to how beautiful it would be to be just like Jesus!
Suddenly it happened, it really happened! I saw something open within my mind and all that Word I had accumulated for years poured into me removing the blinders from my eyes and giving me the knowledge of God!
“Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”
    (Proverbs 1:23)
I was terrified, I felt the demons that lived in me and had been with me my entire life leap out of me with a hideous screech! How is this possible Lord, I thought, how can a mere man understand God?
“My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”
    (Proverbs 2:1-5)
When I picked up the Bible and began reading it something was now different. I had always read and listened to the Bible as a 3rd person, in other words, this apostle is writing to this other apostle, this scripture doesn’t apply to me. For the very first time since I began my study of the scriptures did I realize the scriptures were speaking directly to me! The Words were like 3D, a hologram! Who is this 3rd person I keep imagining? Every scripture, every parable I didn’t seem to understand was as plain as if I was reading a children’s book! This is when I could see the utter Perfection of God’s Word and the inerrancy of scripture. The only way to describe what had just happened to me was “HOLINESS” had entered me!
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
    (Proverbs9:10)
So you may be asking yourself, how does my testimony relate to this video? Well it seems to me it’s quite obvious. There is only one Jesus, the one revealed in scripture. Jesus and the written Word are ONE AND THE SAME. There is no other way to God except through His Word! It is the Word that gives you the SPIRIT:
“It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the WORDS that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are life.”
    (John 6:63)
You must be BORN AGAIN of the Word:
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
    (1 Peter 1:23)
When you read the following passage with those Words in 3-D jumping out of the pages you will come to the realization that the Bible is speaking of itself!
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by ME.”
    (John 14:6)
So this argument of Calvinism vs Arminianism is settled, EVERYONE can approach the scriptures the way I did, and EVERYONE can love God the way did, and God will reveal Himself to whom ever He sees is ready to receive His Truth. So the question is not which one of these two views is correct, but rather how much is the individual willing to do to love and find God!
“If ye continue in my WORD, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE.”
    (John 8:31-32)

Technically, you were talking about your decision to follow Jesus after all the spiritual journey you've been through. That's free will. Yes, you don't have to label it as Arminianism or whatever. But use of free will (decision) to follow Jesus is what Arminians believe. Lots of believers don't even know they hold on to the Arminian theology including me, until last year when I started attending a reformed church and started to do a more in depth studies on both.

Hello Brother Vlad. I am a Calvinist (at least a four point-still working through limited atonement). Appreciate your thoughts on this, it is helpful to see the Arminian position clearly stated.
I have to say that not all of the Calvin positions are articulated accurately here (especially that you are representing double-predestination). I would encourage those who are interested in understanding the Calvinist position to take a look at Wayne Grudems Systematic Theology. It states, in an easy to read way, the Calvin understanding of scripture.
I agree that Calvinists can be pretty aggressive in our defense of our theological understanding of scripture, and for that I am sorry. It is wonderful to have brothers and sisters all around the world, saved by Grace, through faith in our wonderful Lord, Jesus Christ. Happy to count you a brother and enjoy working through scripture in such a way. Appreciate your video.

I would recommend the Bible. When we look elsewhere for our answers and those answers are from sinful men, we get led astray.
One of the main reasons we receive the Holy Spirit is for Him to help us understand what's written. I Cor.2:12 says, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words."
When the Scriptures say Jesus died for the sins of the whole world (Jn.3:16), that is exactly what He means. The "world of the elect" is a made-up term to fit a made up principle. It is not based in Scripture. The Scriptures teach that adding or taking away from what God says is a big no-no. Prov. 30:5-6 says, "Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar." We need to stick to what it says and ask Him for His wisdom. James 1:5-6a says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting..."

@@derpywho1394 appreciate that Derpy. Of course we understand that Calvin and Arminius are interpreting scripture and that we have an ‘Acts 17’ responsibility to examine the scriptures to see if these things are so. I find it so encouraging to discuss these matters, even where we understand doctrine differently. We are sharpened in the scriptures as we discuss these things as brothers. And one day, all of our theology will be corrected as we worship at the feet of the one who has finished His work in us, to the praise of His glory. Blessings!

The nature that comes with Calvinism is vicious. They can be very hard, assertive, and rejecting. Don’t be fooled. It’s a stronghold of the enemy. I think it’s because their justification or election actually hinges upon their knowledge so we’re never perceived as reasoning but as accusing. Anyone who doesn’t mirror their so called “right knowledge” is a threat. Their theology is belittling and degrading towards mankind and they reflect that in the way they treat others. My advice, Just focus on lifting up Jesus. They need this most of all!

She didn't put words in my mouth and she walked me through verse by verse and took me to the passages Paul was quoting. It was a four hour theological discussion that ended in tears and deliverance! It was not until I prayed to God for the truth AND humility that I saw the truth. Calvinism severely hindered my faith and my relationship with God. We need to start teaching the dangers of Calvinism. I fell for it because no one really talks about predestination besides Calvinists. Predestination is talked about in the Bible obviously but the Calvinist interpretation just is not correct. Pray for your Calvinist brothers and sisters! They can change. I did. :)

It's very obvious that predestination and election is up to God's choice and who are we to talk back and question God about it and that is the position and argument Paul makes.
“You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?”

I believe in the points of Calvinism, because they are biblical. My confidence in my salvation is rooted in the sovereignty of God. My assurance to get through the day, and through this life are rooted in a belief that God saved me and keeps me.
To be an Armenian I would be, depending on myself, as the decisive means of being saved, and to continue believing. That word, decisive is very important. Because if the ultimate decisive thing in being saved and staying a believer is me, then I am on very shaky ground. Who knows what could happen to me in the future that would cause me to decisively choose to walk away from God?
Every person who believes in the free will of man in these ways, has to grapple with these questions. You simply cannot have any assurance that you are truly saved or that you will stay saved if you believe Armenian theology. Decisively it is on you and not God. You may be asking for help to believe from God today, but you might not tomorrow. And you don’t know the future. What you do know is that you are a sinner and the chief sin of man which sends them to hell is to decide to walk away from Jesus your savior. And you don’t know if you will ever do that in your lifetime.
Because it is biblical, and because it brings the greatest comfort and assurance, I am a firm believer in the Bible’s explanation of how we get saved and stay that way. You can call it Calvinism if you want to, I just call it biblical salvation and assurance.

If you read the Bible from Genesis to Reverlation, it is very clear that humanity has free will and God punnishes them when they do wrong. But the fact of the matter is you don't need to believe in calvinism to have certainity in Christ. Christ's offer is for everyone and you just need to accept it. Utimately his offer isn't really about heaven and eternal life (although you will get those things), but about a relationship with him. The more you know about him, the more you want to be with him and the more time you spend with him, the more you want to know him. Calvinism gives a false impression of the love God has for humanity and the kind of being our God really is, why would you want to believe something that undermines just how good our God is.

      @randym.7238 Рік тому +2

@@markdurdle7710 My Friend, you’re basing your opinion on the Assumption that Man is basically good and that Man can understand the Spiritual need to repent, and he in and of Himself of his own volition has the knowledge and understanding and “Free Will” to choose to Accept Jesus. Am I wrong?
You may remember in ( Romans 6: 15-23). Apostle Paul informed us that we are either “Slaves” to Sin or “Slaves” to Righteousness. Is this passage not true Brother?
Where in that passage is Man’s “Free Will” to make His own Destiny?
We are not born good ( Romans 3: 10-12) as some suppose.
In ( Ephesians 2: 1-10 ) you read that we are all Spiritually Dead until God “Makes” us Alive in Christ.
In (1st Corinthian’s 2:14) Apostle Paul advised us the We “CANNOT” understand things of the Spirit of God because we are Flesh.
So the question is How can a “Spiritually Dead” Man do or even know how to Save Himself? Jesus said of the Spiritually Dead, “Let the Dead bury the Dead.” ( Luke 9:60 )
So since a Man cannot choose to Save Himself, how is one Saved? This is what Nicodemus was asking Jesus in ( John 3: 3-7)
Jesus advised us the we must be Born again, did He Not?
Born from above. A Man cant create Himself in the Womb and cause himself to be Born of Flesh the First Time, how can he be Reborn by the Spirit in and of himself the 2nd Time?
Of Course the answer is it is Impossible.
So how can a Spiritually dead person who knows nothing of Gods Spirit and is a Slave to Sin, become a Slave to Righteousness and be Pleasing to God? It’s called “ Regeneration” of the Spirit (Titus 3: 1-7) God gives us a new Heart (Ezekiel 26:36) ( Jeremiah 31: 3) ( Hebrews 8:10) This is what (Ephesians 2: 1-10) is talking about.
So you see that a Man cannot Save Himself of his own so called “Free Will” and never would with out First God choosing to Save Him, Regenerating Him and then keeping Him
      (Ephesians 1:13) and ( John 10:27-29).
My Brother, once a man has had his Mind opened to understand Scripture as JESUS did with His Apostles (Luke 24:45) and God “Grants” him repentance ( Acts 11:18) all of which is the result of His Regeneration by God, he will freely come to The Cross to be Saved. Not because he was coerced or forced, but because he was first chosen by GOD, drawn by GOD, given understanding by GOD, granted repentance by GOD and was washed in the Sacrificial Blood of Christ by GOD .
The Man made “Free Will” doctrine puts Man’s choice at the center of His Salvation. Calvinism ( Reformed Doctrine ) put Jesus (God) at the Center, beginning and end of your Salvation.
Please read ( Hebrews 12:2-4 ) with new eyes to see Brother, and you will see that when you found yourself having Faith in Christ and went to the Cross to be Saved, it wasn’t because YOU chose to have Faith, it was because God chose to give the Gift of Faith to YOU. Faith is not Man’s gift to God, it is Gods gift to Man. What’s more, is that you were chosen “before the Foundation of the World.” Ephesians 1: 4-6.
Free Will doctrine is Self Centered and Humanistic and was born out of Man’s Pride. Reformed Doctrine is God Centered, God Honoring and giving God ALL Glory and ALL the Credit to GOD for HIS plan to redeem Men to Himself, by Himself, without the Help of Man. Remember what God said clearly in Isaiah 42:8? He will “not share His Glory with anyone else.”
The Glory of God through Jesus Christ has nothing to do with The choice of SINFUL as Man could then boast! Salvation is Created by God and carried out by GOD.
This is of the Sovereignty of GOD, not Man. This is why we Worship GOD as our Savior and Praise Him and Thank Him for HIS Mercy and Grace for Saving such Sinful Men as You and I.
      Do you have another question?

It's not impossible to believe that God can know the end from the beginning, and still allow free will. To know something is not to cause it, necessarily. Understanding free will is very important in understanding Scripture. For one thing, there can be no true love without it. To be free to NOT love, and to LOVE ANYWAY! THAT is true love. Therefore, free will is a key part of the logic, and the beauty, of the plan of salvation.

Reformed theology doesn't teach that God forces anything on anyone, nor does it reject free choice. Reformed theology affirms both human free will and the sovereignty of God. Humans can choose to believe or not believe, but it's just to say that God already knows what they will choose, because God is omniscient (He knows all things). God simply knows the end choice of all humans. That's very different from God forcing people. VERY big misconception that many people have.

Based on quite a few dialogues/debates, my best guess is that many people so strongly oppose Calvinism because they hate the idea that they are not in control. They despise the idea that their faith was predestined. They loathe the concept that God choosing them had anything to do with them coming to Christ for salvation. Simply put, they want to think that they are fully in control of their own eternal destiny. They chose to receive Christ as Savior. And for many, they adamantly hold onto the idea that they can also choose to reject Christ as Savior after previously trusting in Him for salvation.
What Calvinism haters do not understand, or refuse to accept, is that God's absolute sovereignty does not negate the fact that we are still absolutely responsible for our actions. Yes, God elects people to salvation (Romans 8:29-30). At the same time, we must believe in Christ to be saved (John 3:16). The two are not mutually exclusive. Both are true. Everyone whom God has chosen will believe, and everyone who believes is chosen by God. Admitting that you cannot perfectly understand the mind of God is the only way to come to a biblical balance on this issue (Romans 11:33-34). Calvinists do not have a perfect understanding of how things work, but there is no denying, biblically speaking, that God is absolutely sovereign in salvation.

I think you confuse God being in control with God being in charge. God does not control our decisions. He gave us free will and choice. Therefore, we are allowed to choose if He is in charge of our lives. He does not control our choice of Him or the world. This does not take away from His Godhood of being in charge. He is the Creater and the Master. He does reign, but does not control like a puppetmaster.

    • @johntrevett2944

@Jake P. The problem is not that we are not free to choose what we want, but that what we choose is severely limited by our desires. We freely choose to disobey God because that is all we want to do. Just as we cannot fly like Superman due to our physical limitations, we cannot obey God due to our spiritual limitations. We are free to choose all sorts of ways to disobey God, but we simply cannot choose to obey God without having our desires radically reorganized (some would say regenerated)-and we are powerless to do this on our own. Apart from God and left to our sinful selves, we will choose sin (Psalm 14:1-3, 53:1-3; Romans 3:10-12).
Romans 8:5-8 identifies the spiritual limitations to our “free will”: “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God” (emphasis added). From the context, it is clear that those who “live according to the flesh” are unbelievers. Their wills are in bondage to sin, and so sin is all they want to do. They cannot submit to God’s law.
If this is the case, who then can be saved? “All things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27). The Lord so works in some to energize their spirits and give them a desire to repent and believe (see Acts 16:14). Sinners do not do this on their own but only under the convicting power of the Spirit. If it were otherwise, the saved could boast that they possessed some wisdom or moral superiority that caused them to choose to repent and believe when confronted with the facts, even while so many others continue to reject the gospel. But we are saved by grace, and no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). God is not obligated to save anyone (He has free will), yet He desires that all would be saved and come to repentance (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9). He offers salvation to everyone (Titus 2:11) yet He will not force anyone to come to Him. By His sovereignty, unchanging character (Malachi 3:6), foreknowledge (Romans 8:29, 11:2), love (Ephesians 1:4-5), and plan and pleasure (Ephesians 1:5) He predestines some to salvation. Others He allows to continue in rebellion-which is exactly what they want to do. In either case, people make real, uncoerced choices.

I was raised Calvinist. My understanding of predestination as it was taught is that God chooses who will be saved and there is nothing any of us can do about it. What I get from reading scripture is that predestination is another way of expressing the idea of foreknowledge. Because God is not bound by time, He already knows who will be saved. Predestination seems to contradict 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9, and we supposed to use the full counsel of God. To paraphrase, God wants everyone to be saved, so why would he deny them the opportunity to choose?

    • @johntrevett2944
      @johntrevett2944 Рік тому +1

@Ryan Kelly Certainly, since God knows everything, it would have been possible for God to base His predestination and election of individuals upon His foreknowledge of the future. In fact, that is the exact position that many Christians believe, as it is the Arminian view of predestination. The problem is that it really is not what the Bible teaches about predestination, election, and foreknowledge. The view that “God made His choice based on merely knowing the future” is not what the Bible teaches. For it is certainly true that God foresees faith; He foresees all that comes to pass. The question would then simply be: whence proceeds this faith, which God foresees? And the only biblical answer is that the faith which God foresees is the faith He himself creates (John 3:3-8; 6:44, 45, 65; Philippians. 1:29; 2 Peter 1:2). Hence His eternal foresight of faith is preconditioned by His decree to generate this faith in those whom He foresees as believing.

It implies that we do not choose salvation and undermines the nature of our relationship with God. He may choose us, but He gives us the choice to reject Him. I do think God chooses certain people for certain roles or to fulfill certain needs, but it still requires willing submission, a positive choice.

Good overview of Calvinism & Arminianism! How God has drawn me to Jesus Christ and has molded me over the past 68yrs makes me more of a believer of Calvinistic doctrine. My dreams/visions and theological journey was dramatic and intense - which started at 8 yrs, then 16 yrs old, etc.... there was not much of my free will involved. God’s ultimate sovereignty prevails! Man's free will and reasoning is so fraught with sin through pride and self absorption, we need God's grace to have pure faith in Jesus Christ. John 6:44 is pretty clear!

It does matter if you've kicked the Holy Spirit out of the church like Calvanists/cessationists have done. If you reject any ministry or gift of the Spirit you are grieving the Holy Spirit, and therefore grieving God and against His will. Deliverance is a sign that the kingdom of God has come amongst you. How are you going to receive deliverance if you believe that the supernatural power of God operating through a believer by way of the Holy Spirit ceased in the "apostolic age"?
The Lord Jesus said that these signs shall accompany those who have BELIEVED(a believer): they will speak in new tongues, in my name they will cast out devils, they will pick up serpents (excersize authority over the demonic), if they should drink anything poisonous it shall not harm them, and they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
Do you see how cessationism (one of the tenets of calvinism) is against the will of God.
The doctrine of calvinism is a recipe for dead lifeless churches with no Holy Spirit. If you reject any gift of the Spirit, you reject all and grieve Him.

Calvinism is the definition of what the Bible says to not turn aside to a different gospel than what you received (Galatians 1:6‭-‬7 +many other verses), for it is the grace for all to receive.
It is God's desire that no-one perishes, but that we receive through faith.

As a calvinist it is always a bit frustrating when these things are misunderstood.
For example, god does not want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance, but man in its natural state will not come. No one seeks after god.
Yet god, in his grace, chose to give faith to some so they would not perish. It is not god making people go to hell, people are responsible for that on their own entirely.

God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Wrong, according to the false unbiblical theology of Calvinism God chooses to pass over the reprobate God makes this choice to knowingly send the mass majority to eternity in hell. That is not the true God of the Bible. Second Calvinism is fatalistic determinism, according to all types and versions God is the first and sole cause of all desires, there is no actual difference between hard determinism and compatibilism.
John 3:17 states Kosmos (all of humanity) Sozo subjunctive mood (HAS the ability possibility and potentiality to believe and be saved). Thus all have the ability to be saved, total inability and unconditional election (pre faith regeneration) is false.
There are literally hundreds of verses that refutes Calvinism. Please repent and leave this utterly false doctrine.

In short, I was saved at the age of 21 and am now 45 years old. I spent the majority of my Christin life under the Arminian perspective as I was an Assembly of God minister. I will say that it was a difficult and drawn-out process for me to come to the Biblical truth of God's sovereignty over salvation but now that I have, I see it in almost every book of the Bible, both old and new testaments. I will admit that there can be some minister's on both sides of the argument that can be poor examples of Christain leadership but overall I appreciate the depth and richness of solid Biblical teaching that comes from the Calvanist and Reformed side. I will add that most people's arguments against God's sovereignty over salvation do always have misunderstandings and misrepresentations in their explanations of the teaching including yours represented here.

8But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
9Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
10So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil.
GALATIANS 1:*14 I PAUL, THANK GOD THAT I DID NOT BAPTISE NONE/ANY OF YOU,*

I don't hold much to Calvinism but regarding your 2nd question, it's actually the opposite for me on the topic of losing your salvation 😂 Personally, I feel like a person cannot lost their salvation (if they are truly born again and have the Holy Spirit in their life to guide and walk with them in their spiritual walk) because it feels like God's saving power isn't strong enough in that sense. But a believer can still be tempted with sin and fall into it because we have a renewed spirit while we live in our sinful flesh. But yeahh it's just weird for me regarding salvation 😭
Discussion about it is super cool, like whether a believer committing habitual sin without guilt while "born again". Personally, if I see that, I'd just come to the conclusion that the person's not saved because a genuinely born again Christian will feel guilt doing them, even if they are struggling with habitual sin
Am I going to be called all sorts of stuff for believing this by believers? I hope not. It's a secondary issue and we Christians shouldn't be so willing to argue and create debates with only the purpose of winning the argument or antagonizing the other size. This goes for both sides, me included
But yeah if it's primary issues on the other hand, then we got a problem, like Jesus not being God, God not being 3 in one, salvation not by grace alone by faith alone in Christ alone, and so on. That's what we should be focused on correcting

I believe the same brother. As we choose to put our trust in Jesus Christ we are born again. To think we can unborn ourselves and then be born again is just illogical. I believe that once our Spirit is made new, we are SEALED with the Holy Spirit. That's God's promise. Do we still sin? Yes. But we will regret. A new born Christian will always recognize sin as sin. The difference between a new born Christian and an unbeliever is that we as new born Christians try to avoid sin and hate it. Our new spirit HATES sin but our FLESH loves sin. God's grace is enough to save us and enough to persevere us. As Romans 8,39 says (in my own words): Nothing can seperate us from God's love. If we think WE can seperate ourselves, does that not make us God's? Surely we can't. I do not agree with Calvinism in such as they think God only saves certain people, but I have to say I agree with most of their other believes. I do believe that most Calvinists are saved as they do believe in salvation by grace through faith alone. That's my take on it. So if we take all of their points I would call my self neither of both, not a Calvinist nor an Arminianist, just a follower of Christ on his path, facing lots of challenges, trying to stay as close to the truth as possible.

What I believe is the important thing, is that every believer is brought to a mature Christian,
That they are not tossed to and throw by every wind of doctrine.
And that they are firmly established in the faith.
This was the main concern with the apostle Paul, not just bringing people to Christ, but to bring them to a place where they wouldn't fall away.

I was raised in a super-Calvinist environment. Over time, my Calvinist perspective eroded, particularly the belief in cessationism. I was supernaturally healed of a short leg and scoliosis and came to see that prophetic words and visions are for today. I also dug more into the early church and realized that Calvinism was a major departure from historic Christianity in several areas. I respect that there are people who are trying their best to love God as Calvinists, but I have realized that I am completely on the other side. This video was very clear and helpful. I can see why some Calvinists in the comments think that their side has been somewhat misrepresented, but I do think Vlad is right that these beliefs tend to create certain types of thinking. For example, as a teenager I really struggled with prayer because I didn't understand why we had to pray if God already knew what was going to happen anyway. It took the challenge of more Arminian/charismatic believers in my life to encourage me to pray for really specific things and see that God answered them. If anyone is interested in a more scholarly explanation of how Calvinism developed as a reaction to medieval abuses in the Western (Catholic) church and developed some of its own distortions in the process, I highly, highly recommend that you look up the work of Jon Ruthven.

      I see your point :)
I had kind of the mirrored opposite experience that you had. I grew up in an Armenian household (I was part of the 6th or 7th generation of Christians with non-reformed faiths) and I was an armenian for 22 years. These past few years God put the desire in my heart to deeply study Theology, and the more I studied, the more I started to see how biblically unsound it was ti believe that I had any say in my salvation. So I started to study Theology, doctrines, denominations etc. and got to the conclusion that the reformed/calvinist faith is the most biblically accurate one.
But I am definitely not a cessationist when it comes to gifts, supernatural occurrences or even the gift of prophesying. I myself have a fee gifts such as discernment, spiritual experiences and delivery and usually the Ministries I lead or am involved with pertain to those gifts.
It's interesting that we both had opposite experiences but I believe that at the end of the day, what matters is believing in Jesus as your one and true savior with all out hearts and try our best to follow the biblical principles as close as we can, always relying on the Holy Spirit.

7:10 Because of have sinned in Adam, all deserve judgement for our sins and you would never seek for God on your own unless drawn/chosen (John 6:44) because of the fathers love and mercy for his creation he freely chose who would be saved before you were born.

    Greetings Pastor Vlad,
I follow you on UA-cam and listen to your preachings, which are a great blessing. Thank you. In regards to this topic, I would like to give a little of my own personal testimony. I’m in my late thirties, and I grew up in a Pentecostal (Arminian) church. My church was a bit extreme and had many “sinful” prohibitions, e.g., no movie theatres, no short pants and clean shaven for men, and for women no pants, wearing makeup, earrings, doing their eyebrows, or even shaving their legs. My church also had a peculiar interested in the topics of hell, and blaming everything on the devil, and demons. I recall as a child, being terrified of “losing my salvation” every time I did anything wrong. I was also afraid of being left behind in the rapture. Honestly, I was not at peace.
In college I met other Christian friends who were Calvinists. They instructed me and I could see they were strong in the faith and their conviction; they also had the peace and confidence I lacked. After graduating, I was looking for a job and ended up moving to another state. Over the years, through prayer and in depth Bible study, I began to understand Christian theology clearer. Today I lean more to the Calvinist side. I learned through my life experience, that if I have anything to do with my own salvation, than I can also be responsible of losing it. I confess that I am not strong enough to keep the faith! Calvinism teaches that God is responsible for saving you and He is also responsible for keeping you (John 10:28-29). I do not use this assurance as a license to sin, but to walk obediently and confidently through life knowing that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ Jesus.
That being said, I thank God for my original church because there I got saved and learned the foundation of my faith. Additionally, I still believe some Arminian teachings. For example, I believe that the gifts of the Spirit have not ceased. Christians can still utilize these gifts, e.g., healing and tongues, to strengthen the Church and to further the Kingdom of heaven.
May God continue to bless your ministry and all your listeners.

Noah,Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Saul, Moses, and the entire Israelites, David and so on. So, your first question does help people see that. Calvinism is just another name for being true to the Scriptures. So, It doesn’t matter whether people use that name or not. The thing is that we must be faithful to the word. That is the legacy from the apostles and church fathers.

From your response, I take it your perspective is anyone who would disagree with your theological take is either a) a carnal christian at best or b) not a christian at all. Keep in mind faithful followers of Christ have held to both positions over the centuries and both have stronger and weaker arguments, but both can be genuine followers of Christ. Furthermore because someone seeks to take the Bible seriously and honor both sides of the soveriegnty/free will debate is not looking to be vague but rather acknowlege the bible teaches both and that ultimately only God understands the complexities of his own will and how it plays out. Please rethink the logical analysis you are bringing to your responses and consider charity in said responses as well. As our master said millenia ago, "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples". Don't get me wrong, I still strongly believe that the reformation was an act of God, necessary to purge the church of corruption and some false teachings that had infiltrated it. Great to see your concern about contradictory doctrines. Here are some others for your consideration:
      ---------------
Roman Catholic Church, Council of Trent, Canon 9 - If anyone says that the sinner is justified by faith alone, meaning that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtain the grace of justification, and that it is not in any way necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the action of his own will, let him be anathema.
Bible, Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      ---------------
Catechism of the Catholic Church, "The Apostles Tradition", paragraph 100 - "The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the Magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and to the bishops in communion with him."
Bible, 1 Cor 2:10-13 - these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
      ---------------
Roman Catholic Church, Pope Pius IX, Immaculate Conception - "... We declare, pronounce and define that the doctrine which asserts that the Blessed Virgin Mary, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God, and in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the human race, was preserved free from every stain of original sin is a doctrine revealed by God and, for this reason, must be firmly and constantly believed by all the faithful"
Bible, Luke 1:47 - and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Bible, Rom 3:23 - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

The Calvinism position is often attacked because we want to say WE have a “choice” in choosing Christ. We want to believe WE have “ability”. But do we? Is your conversion to Christ a passive Choice? Did you choose because it was a novel cool idea? Or were you on your knees, broken, in tears realizing the horror of your sin and its coming outcome?
No one chooses Christ from a position of passive understanding. What looks like a choice is more a realization. An awakening.
So what does the Draw in John 6:44 look like?
      A-bit like this….
“Gods real? Wait, if he is real…is Jesus his son? If Jesus is real and is the son, that means the cross actually happened. That means my sin has a future consequence. Ive done so many terrible things, am i even worth saving? What have i done? Oh God please save me. PLEASE. “
The draw is without a choice. It leads to an absolute result. No one at this point stops, turns and rejects. They have crossed a line of no return. They are made ALIVE in an instant. God draws and through irresistible grace compels you through a broken and contrite heart to repentance by allowing you to realize the gravity of your sin.
Did you choose? No. You only perceive choice. God did EVERYTHING.
      God:
      Compelled
      Revealed
      Impressed
      Saved
Your asking to be saved was a result of Gods actions. Not free will from a position of human intellect. We are saved by Gods Grace THROUGH faith. Neither Grace nor Faith came from you. Otherwise YOU could boast of free will.
“I made a decision for…”. NOPE. You did NOTHING. God chose YOU.
Romans 9:15-17 ESV - “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.
So then God has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. Not just pharaoh.

To be honest, I was born grew up and raised in a Calvinist churc actually I have a lot of responses about this and it will be very long, I'm not a pastor I'm not a theologian so when I ask according to what I understand when I hear what pastor Vlad said In fact, not all of Calvin's understandings were conveyed by Pastor Vlad, we said yes because in the development of our churches, we continue to experience revolution, especially with regard to doctrine basically everything must be Biblical and must not conflict with Bible truth and I also don't have a problem with Pastor Vlad's understanding because there is nothing that contradicts with God's word and I can accept it as a lesson for me personally but I have one question out of many questions and responses that I want to give because this is quite confusing for me. One of my questions is as Pastor Vlad explained that Calvinst's teaching is to believe that suffering is God's will and what I want to ask is what is the difference or like what is the suffering because of sin and the suffering as a Christian for following Jesus.
in the teachings that are developing in my church the condition for following Jesus is to carry the cross of Matthew 16 verse 24 The cross in our view so far has been related to various sufferings, be it oppression, persecution, hunger and so on and can also include diseases both physical and psychological. and on this basis why sometimes followers of Calvin also believe that illness or suffering can be part of sin but can also be permission from God as a consequence of following Jesus as an example we see Job in the Bible story Job is a righteous person in God's eyes but why does God allow Satan tempted Job
by bringing sickness and poverty to Job and others the second is the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12 verse 7 why did God allow the devil to bring disease into Paul's body even though Paul had been saved from sin. So Pastor Vlad I really hope there is an answer to my question what is the difference between suffering for sin and suffering as a result of following Jesus and is sickness not part of the cross this is very confusing to me and my purpose in asking is not to judge any teaching or doctrine, any pastor but I want to learn about the truth 🙏

@Reg_The_Gal, I am not a Calvinist but I agree with biblical proof that most of their belief are true.. 1) God indeed predestined some to be saved and some to be burned in fire.
      2) Limited atonement is true and biblical
      3) There are indeed people who are totally depraved and can never be saved
      4) Once saved is always saved...
      Proof:
      1) Acts 13:48 NLT, "When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers."
      2) John 10:15, "As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep."
Note: Jesus died only for the elect(Sheep)
      3) John 8:44( they are the children of the devil) They are what Jesus called the goats
      4)John 10:27-28
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Everything that happens in history has been decreed/Predestined before the world was created see Eph 1:11, Proverbs 16:33 and Amos 3:6. And yes even when terrible things happen, I know it's hard for some people to accept but look what happened when David sinned against God and one of Davids punishments was that God told him that he was going to use Davids own son to shame his Father by Absalom Absalom doing something immoral to his Fathers concubines in front of all of Israel, see 2 Samuel 12:11-12 God said "Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight. Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under the sun." Notice how God said "I WILL DO THIS THING."That was fulfilled in 2 Samuel 16:21-22. Jesus did not die for every single person ever and Jesus didn't die to make people savable. He died to save his elect. In John 17:9 Jesus said that he does not pray for the world. The word world is used in different contexts, in that context he's talking about the non elect. In John 3:16 world means that he purchased people from every tribe, tongue and nation Rev 5:9 and for the children of God scattered abroad John 11:52. Some have been "long beforehand marked out for condemnation" Jude 4 and "appointed to doom." 1 Peter 2:8. About Pharaoh God said “For this VERY PURPOSE I raised you up, to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the whole earth.” So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires." Rom 9:17-18. Jesus said "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." Matthew 11:25-27. So, 2 Pet 3:9 the "not willing that any should perish" if you read that letter in context, 2 Pet 1:1 says "To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours." As far as salvation for all men verses, Paul was refuting the false notion of his time that God was only desiring to save just the Jews and 1 Tim 2:2 says to pray "for kings and all who are in authority" because as humans WE DON'T KNOW WHO THE ELECT ARE SO WE PRAY FOR EVERYONE! That's what it means in verse 4 by saying "all men." Amos 3:2 God said "of all the nations of the earth I have only known you." For centuries God passed over the majority of humankind because this verse isn't about knowledge it's about relationship. And it isn't because God foresaw Israel was more righteous then the other nations because sometimes Israel was more sinful then the pagan nations see 2 Kings 21:9. Only those who were predestined to be saved will be see Acts 13:48, Ephesians 1:4-5, Eph 1:11, Romans 9:11-23, John 6:37. 1 Samuel 3:14 God said “Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.” That's Limited atonement.

I know two Calvinists well and I care for them deeply. It is interesting speaking to them, because they will tell you that God’s absolute sovereign will, and choice to give them salvation instead of hell, is humbling to them. Yet their whole bearing is arrogant. They love to pick intellectual fights and trap people with semantics, in and out of theological discussions. They actually truly do not see it though. They do not realize they are prideful. In reality, their sense of being chosen, I think, is the opposite of humbling. They love to tell their testimonies. They will tell you what a sinner they are and how God saved them. “Are” is the key word. They do not seem to believe in restoration at all this side of heaven…spiritually, emotionally, or physically. Any talk of any work of the Holy Spirit makes them uncomfortable at best and outright hostile at worst. Their complete doubt of any human ability does not allow them to believe that God would ever work through a human. For example, they will say God heals, but He does not use people to do it. No laying on of hands for sure. Any talk of demons either brings an immediate challenge, or they check out completely. It makes me sad. They refuse wholeness, because they think they already have everything, while others don’t. They take pride in what they have and yet are afraid to ask for more or go deeper. They feel a duty toward God, but I don’t see much evidence of a true love.
These are the main reasons I am not Calvinist. I am intellectual myself. I can see the arguments on both sides. But I hate what it does to people. I think I’d rather be an Arminian and find out someday in heaven I was wrong (because I don’t think it’s salvific!) than live that sad life and find out it was not worth it and in fact I should have helped others toward true full salvation in every area while still on earth.

Great story! But it's you who stands with the one true God, so stand tall with a humbling character that knows Jesus died for every single person on earth, and they will all have the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus and love him and obey him , or at least try, do not prepare yourself to maybe right about the one true God, be thankful you are with the one true God! Calvanist/reformed are of a false God. Maybe they will see the truth before it's to late,

May I suggest that if you are so strongly convicted of the error of your two Calvinist acquaintances, then why don't you put together a sound doctrinal theology for them and show them scripturally why they are in error?

Hello Vlad, thank you taking the time to address this often polarizing issue. I've been on both sides (currently on the Reformed side). I do want to address some of the issues you have with Calvinism. I know you mentioned that not all Calvinists adhere to these points but I feel like you misrepresented a majority of Calvinists. My purpose here isn't to argue. The purpose is edification. After all, Calvinism vs Arminianism is a secondary issue. We major on the majors and minor on the minors.
    1. You said that God send's people to hell, we did "nothing to deserve that." Truth is we all deserve hell because of our sinful nature (Rom. 3:23). We don't deserve heaven. God being a just God must punish sin and cannot let it go unpunished (hence why Christ is so important). Most Calvinists don't believe that God sends people to hell, rather people choose to go to hell on their own accord. In our fallen human nature, we will choose sin over God every single time. It's not until the Spirit regenerates us that we can choose God over sin. God sending people to hell is called double-predestination, a view not all Calvinists hold.
    2. You said Calvinists believe, "God chooses evil to happen for his glory." God is not the author of evil. Scripture is clear on that. God didn't bring evil into the world, we did when Adam and Eve sinned against God. God hates evil. He hates sin. He will always be more glorified by righteous living than sinful living. However, God is able to use sin and evil for his greater purposes (Gen. 50:20). Part of God's sovereignty and omnipotence is that he has the final say over evil. That the evil plans of MAN cannot thwart the good plans of God. He can take a bad situation and work it out for our good and his glory (Rom. 8:28).
    3. You said Calvinists don't view Satan as God's enemy. That is not true. Quite frankly, I don't know of any calvinists who'd say otherwise. Satan is God's greatest enemy. But after all, he is still a created being who is subjected to God's will. There is nothing that Satan can do to hinder the plans of God.
    4. "Calvinists believe it's a condition not a relationship." It's absolutely a relationship. Now, I will say that because of our sinful nature we are unable to come to God therefore he must initiate the relationship first (1 John 4:19). I do believe in unconditional election. I do believe that God is sovereign over our salvation. But there is a mystery between the sovereignty of God and the free will of man. Somehow both come into play. From our vantage point, it's us coming to God. From the 30,000 foot view, it's God drawing us to himself. On a side note, I disagree with your exegesis on John 3:16 but that's a longer convo for another time :)
Just shedding some light on what most Calvinists believe. Yes, some of us are snarky and arrogant. Yes, some of us are trying to win the debate rather than build unity. But overall, reformed theology is an amazing thing which helped me understand God better. I know it's not true for everyone. At the end of the day, what matters most is having a relationship with Christ. Not arguing how we got there. God bless and continue to bring Him glory!

I remember thinking that's a really obtruse way of looking at the scriptures.
If I'm being honest, Calvinism seems like a doctrine of divisiveness.
We absolutely have the choice to turn our backs on God, if we so choose. God will give you over if you continue to ignore His advice.
    Bless you fam 🫀

God is the One that has known all of His sheep, His people, the individual person who would come to the faith, before the foundations of the world. He knows the end from the beginning, because He decreed it. Thank God man's will does not triumph over God's decreed will. And God's decreed will has not been completely revealed to us, for we don't know what will happen exactly tomorrow. That's for God to know. God has a revealed will and secret will.

I doubt you'll read this but I honor you Vlad for your anointed and fruitful ministry. I agree that many people in the Reformed and Calvinist tribe can be harsh, even self-righteous. Unfortunately, many are also cessationists (though not all, Piper and Grudem are continuationists). But I also know many Calvinists who are the most humble believers and leaders I've ever known and even Spirit-filled. In regards to the main topic, I find your arguments against Calvinism in this video to be a big departure from the main points of the historic Calvinism/Arminian debate. Your summary appears to be more semi-Pelagian than it is Arminian. Also, I found your arguments were based more on your personal biases and philosophy about human freedom/will and a reductionistic theodicy ("how can God choose to send people to hell?") rather than biblical exegesis. I believe the Bible is clear that God predestines people unto salvation because the Fall has left us completely dead in our sins and transgressions. We are saved by grace thru faith, this is a gift so no one can boast. To borrow an image I read in an R.C. Sproul book about our fallen condition, we are not like a crippled person who needs to use our will to open our mouth and receive the medicine of the gospel. We are dead and buried six feet under and Christ calls us by name to come forth, similar to how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. If Jesus calls a corpse to rise, we rise. It is effectual, not simply enabling.
John Piper has a great summary about the essence of the Calvin/Arminian debate, "According to Arminianism, the very final act that brings me into Christ, that decisive moment in conversion, is one that I perform, not God... Calvinism says that God does more in our conversion; namely, he overcomes all of our resistance and opens the eyes of our hearts to make Christ so real and so beautiful and so compelling that our will gladly embraces Christ as our Savior and Lord and Treasure."

Well. It’s going to sound insane or paradoxical, but I think that both reality exists. Free will and pre determination.
From the present moment exists an infinity of paths we can choose. God knows all of this paths for every individual. We are Schrödinger’s cat.

    • @childofgod9648
      @childofgod9648 Рік тому

It’s not really pre determination. God already knows who will obey him or not. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. It’s clear in John 3:16 that whosoever who believes in him.. meaning salvation is for everyone but not everyone accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. That’s why we have to pray for them that God will draw them to Jesus.

I’m a Christian not Calvinist or Arminian now after being said that I believe according the scripture that the doctrines of the grace are all over the Bible. That’s why I think the Calvinist perspective are more clear and more consistent in the Bible but maybe the idea of not being in control our lives as humans it doesn’t sound good for us regardless what I really want as a human God from the beginning is the one who chose his people, He chose Abraham from Uz, chose Noah, chose Lot, chose David, chose the apostles, etc. He is the one who has his plan and he will fulfill it. “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭115‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
If we are truly believers there’s is nothing to worry we are in God’s hands 🙌🏻 we need to remember something “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬
God bless you Pastor and to all of us.

This verse comes at the end of the discussion of the vine, its branches and bearing fruit. Context is very important when we read and quote scripture. When read in context with the whole chapter, this is the explanation. God has given free will to mankind to choose whether or not to accept Christ as their Saviour, turn to God, live their lives according to God's Word and share the gospel of salvation with others in the hope that they too will choose God as their Saviour and enter into God's Kingdom. However, if it were not for God's grace and mercy shown to humanity, because of man's sinful nature, we would never be able to enter into the Kingdom of God and come to God apart from his grace of salvation (John 3:3). In short, no individual, because of sin, would be able to enter into the Kingdom of God and thus no individual would have the option of choosing to be with Christ in the Kingdom of God if it were not for the fact that God had chosen to sacrifice His Son on the cross for every man as payment for the sins of man.
