A studio under xbox that people overlook that I believe could make a great Banjo game is Double Fine. They kinda walk that line of "family friendly" games albeit a tiny bit more mature for young children
Microsoft have no internal developers who wanna make a Banjo game and they can't force anyone to make a game they refuse to make, especially not since it takes 4-6 years to make it. Playtonic is the only developer i know of that ever wanted to make one, but that were like 10 years ago.

I'm gonna be honest I never played it as a child and then tried to play it a year ago.. Most of the game feels super unpolished, the attacks are weird, the hitboxes and the jumps are weird even for an old game they are super weird. It was hard getting used to and if there is any hope for this franchise they need to remake the games like they did with spyro and modernize them.
this is why Crash Team Rumble would have been good to stick around. Could have added Banjo and seen how popular that would have been. It really could have ended up as a trial hub for xbox platformers and i could imagine Blinx, Ty and even Lucky showing up had the game kept growing
I LOVED the WiiU. Thought it was creative, and had such amazing possibilities. Sadly, they never fully utilized the tablet. But I truly loved that system.
Banjo Kazooie is the perfect platformer to release across all platforms, same with Crash and Spyro. It doesn't have to be a huge AAA graphic show case just a game that is fun with enough graphic punch.

I think Banjo would do well on the right platform. I know I play my platforming games on my switch. Maybe if I didn't own more than one platform I'd buy them on my Xbox. My number one platforming game usually has the name Mario in it though.
Ah, farewell sweet Prince (Wii U). I sold mines a bit before Switch reveal as I was satisfied with the good games I played/owned and felt they'd port the games I enjoyed and even a few I didn't get to grab (they ported them all). As for Banjo, I think it's very much like Killer Instinct. Just waiting for a certain team to be free, so not "in active development" more like super early pre-production and budget discussion. That allows both to be "right" more or less. As for whom that studio is, maybe Playtonic~?

Waiting to see what the fans think of Outlaws. I’ve learned not to buy Ubisoft games at launch since they’re 50% off within a month or two anyways. Diablo and MLB have been keeping me busy. I’m just still sitting here waiting patiently for Black Ops 2 to come to Game Pass. It’ll come one day.

To be honest your take about Ubisoft and Star Wars is wierd. I know that Ubisoft is for some people always bad and for others they deliver what these people want. You will propably dont like this Game, because you alredy set your expectations. You dont trust Disney you dont trust Ubisoft. And thats absolute fine but than you must consider that you are not the audiance for this Game. In my case its the Fromsoft Games, they give me nothing that i like so i am not the audiance (just an example) For me the Ubi Formula works and i like it in every Openworldgame.

At least there is a decompilation project for Banjo 1, though I think that with the recent n64 decompilation breakthrough this game might have already been decompiled with that method.

I was actually thinking that the release cadence would be more like the Backwards Compatibility drops they did when they were dropping Xbox 360 games. 10 here, five there, 15 after that... that way. I'll have to see what actually ends up happening. To be fair, once the transformers games drop, I'll be good. Whatever happens after that I probably won't even pay attention to it. (Unless they also somehow get the licenses to put the Marvel Activision games back up. That would catch my attention as well. Because I would absolutely love to have Deadpool, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the Ultimate Alliance games, and Spider-Man games like Esge of Time, Web of Shadows, and Shattered Dimensions all in my digital library on a single console. I'd even buy a second copy for PC for those games as well.)
