Back in 2008, the morning after this aired, my mom (a lapsed AMC viewer) gave me a ride to work at 7am and I described this scene to her in the car. The moment I told her about that moment of Angie running off the platform and hauling ass down the train track yelling for Jesse, my mom started crying. She hadn't even seen it but that moment sold it for her.
Debbie Morgan played the hell outta this scene. This was the best reunion scene i've seen probably..ever! And Darnell Williams has aged just like a FINE wine.
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful emotional scenes in AMC history. The song only takes it to a level beyond belief. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back to those days and times.
I remember watching this scene when it originally aired. I was in college and used to watch the hell out of this show and my father walked into the room and said “Damn, they got them back.” Him and my mom used to watch AMC back in the 80’s.
This scene so powerful that you can't help but get emotional. You can feel every emotion from the second this scene starts. Gotta love our black super couple
I met Darnell Williams (Jessie) outside One Life To Live studio in New York on my 36th birthday and my son took a picture of Darnell and I. This was 2 years before his return to AMC he was an acting coach for the young actors on OLTL. When I tell you that was definitely one of my best birthdays. After we left I told my son I had been watching that man since I was 12 years old and that he was part of Daytimes first black super couple. My son knew that I was A big soap fan!
This was my mom's all time favorite show and Angie and Jesse were her favorite couple along with Edmund and Maria. Since the 80s, every time it was on, my sisters and I, even our dad, knew not to bother her at all. "My novella's on! Everybody OUT!!!"
I wasn’t even too into this story at the time because I was only a kid but I remember this moment and this song being in the background. Such a fantastic soap moment.
Gawd...... I was 13 when this episode aired.... whew. I was watching Our Kind of People with them in it and I just had to find this clip... sheesh 😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤
Why they do Angie like that. Falling all on her knees on them rocks. Lord have mercy. I cried like a baby when Jessie died in 1988. It took me ten years to get over it.
Those of you who know will understand what I'm about to write.. I admit it I cried as she ran after the train, I cried when she missed the train calling Jesse's name, I boohooed when she walked back to the station. I ugly cried when the smoke cleared and she saw Jessie. This was incredible writing and acting.
I’m telling y’all the writers did right by me. All My Children made up for what they did 20 years ago. I was so great full, from the flashbacks to the music and emotions they did that.
I know right! I still remember the scene with Dru & Neil on The Young & The Restless. They were in their Bedroom getting their marriage back on track. If that didn't show Black Love in such a romantic light I don't know what did. If it were up to me Darnell Williams should be decorated by the Queen. He like Tonya Lee Williams (Ex Olivia Young & Restless) are both British Born.
I'm A Grown Man..I Used To Come Home From High School Bball Practice n Find My Grandmother Watching This.. I Got Hooked At 18 Years Old..Lol...Now I'm 50 Something...DAMN!
I love this scene. AMC you are definitely doing great work now. Keep up the good work. These characters make a perfect match. They work so well together.
I love Jesse and Angie I love this couple they can truly act thank you thank you thank you that's seen that the railroad just takes my breath away oh my God so beautiful
just started watching these old reruns on VHS again. and i'm still like "they completely forgot about the history of Jacob and Angie from Loving/The City. cuz jesse and jacob looked like twins, how Angie couldn't have thought it might have been Jacob?
I'm not sure. But I think Antonio played Angie's Father Les Baxter. I know for sure That the late Lee Chambers played Angie's mother Pat Baxter. Antonio has been on AMC. But I can't recall for sure what Character he played.
what is the name of the song? i havent watched amc in a long time becuz of work schedule, but now that angie and jessie are back, i watch them on soap net....
@@feliciasanders2066 I remember. My late mother is a massive fan of AMC and was pen pals with Taylor Miller (Nina Courtlandt). That was in summer/fall of 1987, when Cliff was apparently killed in South America on a missionary trip. Nina was torn up but got remarried. I believe she went to South America that fall were her mother Daisy was staying, when Cliff and her reunited. Watching these old clips and the older ones from the 80’s brings back fond memories as a child and watching the show with my mother.
Like Sha Renee, said killing Jesse off was a huge mistake...but also T James is right cuz there were two episodes i think 94(when his spirit arrived cuz Tad was I think in a coma) and in 01 when Gillian was transitioning, his spirit appeared as well...nonetheless, they should've never killed off Jesse....and especially after what happened to Jenny years prior, his best friend
It's 2021 and it still makes me tear up when Angie ran on that train track yelling "JESSSSSEEE"

Angie had ME screaming for Jesse when I saw this scene!! Gives me life to this day!!

Yep
@@AleiaThatonegiel2012 And I’m actually finding out Darnell and Antonio shared scenes together because he was his dad-in-law!!! Wow!!
I cried like a female when I watched this. This was awesome! She deserved an Emmy for this
Antonio Johnson still get the chills watching this
Antonio Johnson Yes. I was a child when Jesse died. So this seemed sooo real to me
Debbie Morgan already has an Emmy for playing Angie on AMC.
She got nominated for this but lost
@@horizontoday7874 I know right. I cried when he died and when Mac Cory died on Another World.
This scene will forever be that scene for me. Angie and Jessie iconic. The emotions Angie showed she should of got an award for this alone ❤️
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful emotional scenes in AMC history. The song only takes it to a level beyond belief. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back to those days and times.

Was it really 20 years tho? I thought it was like 25. Didnt he die when Frankie was a baby?
Why does he not want to reveal himself to her? Is he in the witness protection program?
This is not the first time AMC has used a train scene for a Super Couple reunion. It was first done by Cliff & Nina.

This was dumb as Jesse was absolutely killed off. He was totally dead.
This was a huge mistake by Agness Nixon that really spelled the end for the believability of the show. Jesse was 100 percent dead.
T James No the mistake was killing off Jessie in the first place
They brought Dixie back from the dead too.
